A toilet seat and bucket system is provided but guests will need to use their own waste disposal bags, available at most camping supply stores. The backside of the comfort station has a rain barrel (not potable) collection system for extinguishing fires. OFF-ROAD CONDITIONS:  Due to the primitive nature of our location, all reservations should expect hilly terrain and potential bumpy or some muddy road access, especially after heavy rain. Quarter Spring Farm is located in Liberty, TN on the western edge of the Cumberland Plateau. It comprises 63 acres of wooded ridges and hollows with exceptional hiking and distinct landscape features. Smith Fork Creek, which feeds Center Hill Lake, is visible from the campsite. Quarter Spring Farm’s history is murky and still being discovered. The house is over 100 years old. There are stone property walls that may predate the civil war. We believe this site was a Mississippian period settlement because of the large amount of artifacts we have found. Please note: there is no electricity at the dome. There will be a battery with a light and the option to charge your phone. There is no parking at the dome. The walk is uphill and takes about 5 minutes or so. This is still a tent, the dome is not insulated and is not 100% sealed. Bugs do get inside from time to time. I will also provide you with water for cleaning and at least a gallon to drink. Just let me know if you need more. If you can get here before it gets dark, that is the best. If you can’t, that’s ok, we’ll just be hiking in the dark. Luckily I know my way around pretty good.

Quarter Spring Farm is located in Liberty, TN on the western edge of the Cumberland Plateau. It comprises 63 acres of wooded ridges and hollows with exceptional hiking and distinct landscape features. Smith Fork Creek, which feeds Center Hill Lake, is visible from the campsite. Quarter Spring Farm’s history is murky and still being discovered. The house is over 100 years old. There are stone property walls that may predate the civil war. We believe this site was a Mississippian period settlement because of the large amount of artifacts we have found. Please note: there is no electricity at the dome. There will be a battery with a light and the option to charge your phone. There is no parking at the dome. The walk is uphill and takes about 5 minutes or so. This is still a tent, the dome is not insulated and is not 100% sealed. Bugs do get inside from time to time. I will also provide you with water for cleaning and at least a gallon to drink. Just let me know if you need more. If you can get here before it gets dark, that is the best. If you can’t, that’s ok, we’ll just be hiking in the dark. Luckily I know my way around pretty good.

We rolled in at night so locating the entrance wasn’t as straight forward as it would have been during the day, which ir was pretty clear to see the entrance during the day. The entrance is STEEP. this place was perfect for our 25ft rv and our dogs! they enjoyed the wide open space and were very interested in the goats and chickens. the space was a little less private than i would prefer but it wasn’t an issue at all. robert was very nice and attentive, we loved this site and will definitely be back!

My partner and I made a last minute decision to go camping when our schedules changed. Patti was extremely friendly and communicative immediately when we made our reservation. I really enjoyed hearing from her. The campsite is not very far from Nashville and was a perfect getaway. The campsite has three guard dogs that are SUPER sweet. They were very playful with our 1 and 1/2 year old German Shepherd (who still thinks he’s, like, a 6 month old). We also felt very happy that these dogs were guarding us during the night. The road is somewhat close to the campsite but it didn’t have heavy traffic. This site was perfect for the three of us looking at a short, impromptu night away from home! The creek and birds were lovely to wake up to and we came home the next day cheerful and relaxed. We were at Site 2, but Site 3 also seemed great for a larger group.

Tent camping here was a breeze. It felt very secluded despite only being 15 minutes or so from Nashville. We did hear some faint traffic nearby but not a peep during the night hours. There were some people hunting way far off in the distant and we heard some rifles go off a few times during the day, but we didn't feel unsafe by any means during our stay. The site was beautiful, fully surrounded by trees at the top of the hill--exactly what I was hoping for. Speaking of hills, there is a pretty steep hill to get up, yes--but with 4WD it wasn't really an issue for me at all. The sites are first come first serve and there was only my fiance and myself plus one other family that showed up several hours later. They were far enough away that we could barely see them. There's potable water and a toilet a decent walk from the site, but we didn't use either so I can't speak to those. Our interaction with the host was very minimal since it's self check-in and check out, but we didn't need anything other than the directions that were provided (which were very easy to follow). Overall I'd highly recommend this site if you're looking for some seclusion but don't want to drive hours away from the convenience Nashville area.

The cabin was cozy and comfortable, and the modern bathroom was a nice touch. Both the main room and the bathroom have their own window unit. I've been using Hip Camp for two years, and this was by far the most beautiful place I've stayed. I was met by the hosts who helped me back in and make sure everything was ready for me. Perfect level pad with full hook-ups. Only 2 sites, and I was the only one there. Very peaceful with a really pretty forest with trails behind my site. I highly recommend this location. I hope to come back someday!

Our stay at Belle and Beau Acres was absolutely perfect! We chose two reserve both of the hike in camping sites down by the river for extra privacy. As advertised, it’s a short hike in, but the trail is narrow and a bit steep—so plan accordingly. The effort is completely worth it, though. The sites are very private, nestled between two hills beside a gently flowing stream. The combination of privacy and the relaxing sound of the water made for an amazing atmosphere. The farm itself is in an ideal location. When you arrive, it feels like you’re deep in the countryside, yet you’re only about 15 minutes from downtown Cookeville for food or supplies. Plus, both Burgess Falls and Cummins Falls are just a short drive away—highly recommend visiting both! Christine and her husband were incredibly kind, responsive, and helpful throughout our stay. I really appreciated how thorough they are and how they verify that all guests are registered—it adds a nice sense of safety and respect among everyone on the property. Everything about our trip was fantastic. We’ll definitely be back!

Belle and Baua Acres was absolutely incredible! We reserved hike-in tent sites #2 and #4, and they were just as advertised. The short, somewhat steep hike down makes it important to pack light, but it’s well worth it once you arrive. If you’re looking for a peaceful, primitive camping experience with plenty of privacy, these sites are perfect. Both sites sit just a few feet from a tranquil stream—an ideal backdrop for relaxing by the water or drifting off to the sound of nature. Christine and her husband were wonderful hosts: incredibly responsive, organized, and clearly take great pride in maintaining their beautiful farm. The location couldn’t be better—close to Burgess Falls and Cummins Falls, both stunning hikes with breathtaking waterfalls, and only about 15 minutes from Cookeville if you need supplies or want to grab a bite to eat. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Great hosts, great place, great location, and an all-around amazing stay. 100% recommend!

We discovered this small homestead 18 years ago. It was built by a man preparing to go off grid, but he never did. In the intervening time, we became enthralled with growing vegetables, raising ducks, grazing sheep and hiking the hills behind us. Then Nicole discovered permaculture and began the process of changing the land using these practices. With our three dogs, cats, goats, sheep, rabbits, ducks and chicken (there is only one chicken), things can be pretty merry around her. There are aquaponics and hydroponics to check out for fun. Plus, Nicole is one of the region's only craft coffee roasters, so you are in for a treat if you come visit and like coffee because she tends to make coffee most mornings.
