Nice, no frills campsite. I didn’t use the shower because it was raining when I left, but it’s a nice option to have. Ground is tough, so be aware of that when hammering stakes in. I didn’t have any problems making it up the hill, but I have AWD and I could see how others would have trouble. Overall, would stay again

Michael was a great host and the property was beautiful. We stayed two nights with 5 adults and 4 little kids. Plenty of space to run around and enjoy the woods.

Slice of heaven
This place is the way life should be..simple, yet panoramic and without expectation. No hurry or hustle; just nature at its best. This also describes the host and his son.... genuine souls who are sharing their paradise.
Am honored to take part.

The perfect camping spot!
Michael’s camp ground was so peaceful and well kept! It was a quick 20 minute drive outside of Nashville but still felt secluded but safe. It was so quite and the view was absolutely stunning! Pets are welcomed which was a plus for those of us who had dogs. They loved being able to free run and play. Michael did a phenomenal job at accommodating us at the campsite by bringing extra fire wood and even allowing me to use an electrical outlet to blow my air mattress up. We are already planning our next trip to bring more friends to check out this sweet camping spot! 10/10 recommend staying with Michael.

Peaceful place, scenic, great host.
This is a terrific remote location. High on a ridge about 12-15 miles from downtown Nashville you can enjoy primitive camping, out of the way, but from the right spot you can see the lighted nighttime profile of the iconic “Batman” building and some of the skyline. Michael is a super friendly host and he is a joy to meet.
You have a bit more solitude here than at the state-managed campgrounds (but we love those too!). I suppose that is for a reason with amenities and security, etc. Our stay was purposely less about amenities as we are acclimating ourselves to fewer comforts of home to learn more how to live outdoors in our adventures. (That said we couldn’t resist a trip to G’ville for a lunch at Ruby’s Restaurant.) Security? All was well and we ain’t skeert.
If you make this a camping spot for you, a few things to know. This is primitive camping. A few water shared spigots are available and the water is clean.
Arrange for your own WC needs although a simple outhouse is on site. It appears to be situated on a septic tank. Of everything about this location that is the one improvement that is begging to be made.
This is a place with tremendous potential. We think Michael has the right approach: Allow it to be itself. Yet he is looking at some potential improvements and additions. We think he will strike the balance on that very well in time.
This was our first visit. We hope to revisit soon or early spring at the latest.
Loved it

Last minute camp trip from Nash
The property was awesome and Michael sets it up very well. There was an outhouse, plenty of downed wood to use, and even a little bit of chopped wood to use. Michael came down to check on us to make sure everything was good and was very polite. We’ll be making it out there again. A little advice: make sure you can make it up the steep graded gravel entrance road. We read the reviews ahead and borrowed a Subaru to take us up and it handled fine. Probably wouldn’t have made it in my crappy little car if I used it. Thanks, Michael!

So delighted to have a sanctuary outside of the city. 20-30 minutes to east or downtown Nashville. Gorgeous neighborhood/region, complete with deer every evening (drive slow). Charming altogether!

The location was stellar. Close enough to the city for a short drive but removed enough for sone peace and quiet in the evenings.

My friends and I loved tent camping on Michael's land. This is my third time camping here and every time has been wonderful. The campsites were clean, spaced out, and at night you can see the lights of downtown Nashville off in the distance. It's incredible! 10/10 recommend.

Great local campsite
I took my son and girlfriend's son on a quick overnight to celebrate their birthdays. The hill leading to the campsite is very steep, but thankfully I had 4x4. Once at the top of the ridge, we went down to the campsite down the hill. There was a table, fire ring, trash can and water source available. We set up our tent and hammock and still had plenty of room to park the truck. The boys enjoyed searching the woods for acorns (which fell all night) to shoot with the slingshot. They had plenty of space to roam and explore.
The only thing to be aware of (if you have small children particularly) is there are many thorny vines and the old jeep/grills and such maybe something to consider and instead take the nice spot on top of the ridge.
Overall, it was a great experience with the boys and we hope to go back again when it cools down.

Great Spot close to town!
Great property! It feels like you’re not as close to Nashville as you are… trash cans for the 3 main areas, working and potable water spouts, and some supplemental fire wood is available too! I had a chance to meet Michael and he is very kind as well. I’ll definitely be visiting again.

Peaceful seclusion with a view of N
This is a gem of a spot situated away from people, yet close enough to get to shops and the like easily. This is REAL camping, not that glamping stuff. It is a beautiful slice of nature with deers, turkeys, and we even saw an armadillo just up from our site! The outdoor shower is great and easy to operate. Bring your shower shoes. Michael was great and friendly and accommodating. His booking instructions and directions are concise and clear. Amazing spot for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle and just enjoy nature. And check out the views of Nashville from the hilltop at night! Looks so beautiful!

Watch your step
I booked in the afternoon, needing a last minute place to overnight that would take a dog. I expected the site to be very basic, and it was as advertised. I arrived at dusk and drove through the small area.
There was space for two sites at the top of the gravel drive. A bit further was the shower and pit toilet area. There were two RVs 100 feet or more beyond that, and an occupied tent site down a short road. They had dogs that settled down quickly after I came through and went back up the road. I did not hear them later.
I took one of the sites near the top of the gravel drive. I had a quiet, pleasant nearby neighbor who slept in a hammock between two trees.
The shower was primitive: hose connections from a spigot to the shower head within a blue tarp wrapped around three close-together trees, held in place by rope and bungee cords. A gas water heater hung inside on one of the trees. No decking, only gravel underneath. I did not try the shower; too primitive for me.
My concern is the amount of poison ivy, so much I had to look before almost every step. I bunk in my car, and man I'm glad I didn't need to set up a tent. If I'd arrived after dark and stumbled through it I'd have been an itchy mess by morning, with it all over my clothes and bedding. I had to keep a close watch on where I and my dog stepped.

Awesome spot in Nashville!
The property is absolutely awesome! First of all, you’re on top of a bluff and have clear views of downtown Nashville. There’s multiple open spots with plenty of space and good shade. Outhouse was clean and easy to access. Shower was awesome, warm water right under the trees! From the campground you can get to downtown in exactly 25 minutes. If you’re looking for a fun contrast of city partying accessible combined with country camping, this spot is for you.
