A friend and I had a good experience camping here in April. Our return in July did not go so well. In 40 years of outdoor adventures, I've never seen a tick infestation like it, and we're eaten up with chiggers too. I'm not exaggerating when I say dozens of ticks crawling all over the outside of my tent and anything light colored placed on the ground. We were camped at the higher grassy spot. The other 2 spots may not be as bad. I think the problem is exacerbated by the fact that the property seems to be rarely mowed. I'm sure that's why the chiggers are so bad. I hate that other campers leave garbage, but at this price point, I think the owner should make some attempt at cleaning up between guests. We carted out a garbage bag full of crap left by others and cleaned up the outhouse, which was beyond disgusting and full of spiders. Also, in two visits, the outdoor shower was not set up, so the listing should be revised to remove that amenity. Overall, not a great experience.
Very private once you get up to the campsites. Very primitive which is what I like.
The road up to the sites is pretty steep and I had 4x4 so no issues but definitely would need it under certain seasonal conditions.
I personally loved that about it too.

My 4 year old and I camped overnight. No one was around and it was awesome as all the lightning bugs were out. Great spot. Butch could be trimmed a little as a ton of ticks but that’s to be expected.
Definitely not worth $30+ a night but it did the trick to break up a cross country road trip. Stayed at multiple hip camps and National, and state parks in my life and this one was pretty rough and not worth $30- should have been $5-$10 for what it was. Amenities were "rustic" to the say the least, lots of trash at each site. Tent site was under some nice trees, shaded etc but did not seem to be well maintained. Hopefully it's just due to it being early in the season. Our one night stay was at the end of May. I'll be sticking with the state parks for awhile

We loved camping on Michael’s land! Not only was it peaceful, relaxing, well kept & filled with butterflies, it was excellent having clean potable water and an outhouse so close!! We stayed at the ridge line campsite and watched the full moon rise over head.
In the morning we made coffee and took a refreshing shower. What a gift!
We definitely want to camp here again soon.

Great spot just outside of town to crash for the night. Definitely read Michael's directions around finding and getting up the driveway. I arrived in an intense rainstorm and there were definitely some down branches on the driveway the next morning. My car has pretty low clearance (Subaru Impreza) but did just fine getting up and down. If I were staying longer in Nashville, I'd go back to this spot 🙏
We had a great stay. The running water and outhouse were nice perks. Will definitely book again for future Nashville trips. Thanks for having us!

The location was amazing. It was secluded and quiet with a beautiful view. The water was great. I was disappointed to see all of the old tools, machines, tires, etc. near the sights. The outhouse could use some improvement. I spent some time cleaning the seat and lid before we could use it. I would stay there again, but it is not a place for inexperienced campers.

We rolled in at night so locating the entrance wasn’t as straight forward as it would have been during the day, which ir was pretty clear to see the entrance during the day.
The entrance is STEEP.
Passed all that. It was a very secluded a lot. There were what we could see 4 different flat areas to stay and view of the city was beautiful.

Rally cool place to camp amd get away from the city . Great views of the sunset
Tent camping here was a breeze. It felt very secluded despite only being 15 minutes or so from Nashville. We did hear some faint traffic nearby but not a peep during the night hours. There were some people hunting way far off in the distant and we heard some rifles go off a few times during the day, but we didn't feel unsafe by any means during our stay.
The site was beautiful, fully surrounded by trees at the top of the hill--exactly what I was hoping for.
Speaking of hills, there is a pretty steep hill to get up, yes--but with 4WD it wasn't really an issue for me at all.
The sites are first come first serve and there was only my fiance and myself plus one other family that showed up several hours later. They were far enough away that we could barely see them.
There's potable water and a toilet a decent walk from the site, but we didn't use either so I can't speak to those.
Our interaction with the host was very minimal since it's self check-in and check out, but we didn't need anything other than the directions that were provided (which were very easy to follow).
Overall I'd highly recommend this site if you're looking for some seclusion but don't want to drive hours away from the convenience Nashville area.
I could see this spot being best for Jeep overlanders that pass through. We were in a van and although we made it up the hill it is very steep. We thought the views would be better being on a hill. Price was higher than other hipcamps we’ve stayed at. The toilet was dirty, we opted for a shower at a gym down the street.

Great place for a quick camping getaway in the Nashville area. Once you’re out there it feels as though you are much farther out than you are. Hassle free, good communication from the host. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed the campsite. Close to Nashville where we live, so it’s a nice place for a quick weekend camp. Don’t really see how 8 different bookings could fit up there though without sharing a fire or being right next to each other. Will be back though!
This was a great spot to set up with my tent. Not actually hard to find, the red reflectors by the road helped a ton!! Beautiful land, spacious sights and got to eat breakfast with some deer. Will 100% be back and will direct my other camping friends straight here!

My wife and I stayed in a 17 foot teardrop. The drive up ( and then down) the gravel road was a bit challenging but we made it with no problem. The site was primitive but beautiful (see pic). Our camper has a toilet and that was handy as I did not see any usable facilities.
Peaceful and beautiful spot, would definitely go back.

This is our second time staying here, this time we took the spot up top. Another good night, and we recommend it.
Sucked, owner was no where around, too steep to navigate. No comedies whatsoever.. ignored and cheated out of a space the 2nd night. Will never use again!

Just stopped in for the night on a long drive home. Nice secluded location on the top of a ridge, we had the place to ourselves so it was great.
If you're booking for the toilet and shower they could use a bit of work.

Very cool place. The driveway up the hill is a bit nerve wracking, but it’s worth it once you get to the top. Very private and secluded.
I was passing through and this campsite was quite awesome! It was super peaceful! I met michael and he was a very nice person. I thought I was at the wrong place and he was nice night to come and help! I highly recommend this spot!
It was very relaxing up on top of the mountain! We brought everything in with us so we didn’t need much. All we heard all night was the sounds of cicadas and a large hoot owl. The road in was very steep but easily traversed with 4WD… we definitely recommend driving in and out with daylight so you can see the edges. My husband was unable to get the water to run but we weren’t too worried about it since we had a decent supply. Overall, we loved it!
