Chris’s place was so much fun! The creek provided endless entertainment for the kids, and tranquil vibes for us all. The pine forest behind the camp was also the perfect place for our hammocks and many games of hide and seek. There was a fire ring at the campsite and plenty of soft grassy spots for our tents. We also had some of the fresh eggs in the morning that were delicious. We can’t wait to come back.

We really enjoyed our time at Camp David! The Cumberland Plateau is a beautiful place and this property is a great home base for exploring—or just staying put and relaxing. It had all the amenities we needed to be comfortable while still "roughing it." It wasn't quite as private as we'd expected based on photos, but we enjoyed getting to know the hospitable hosts and really enjoyed our stay. Definitely recommend!

Chis’s campsite was absolutely incredible! The land felt so open and free, with wide spaces that made it easy to just relax and take it all in. There’s something about being surrounded by nature and trees here that gives you a real sense of adventure and excitement.
The river was the highlight for me—it was beautiful, peaceful, and added such a special touch to the whole experience. Sitting by the water and listening to it flow was the perfect way to start and end the day.
If you’re looking for a place that feels both wild and refreshing, this spot is exactly that. The land, the freedom, and the beauty of the river make it a campsite I’ll never forget

Loved our stay at Chris's land! He met us upon arrival and chose our site based off our needs and it was perfect. The river is lovely with a nice swing and we even heard whippoorwills. Slept like babies under the stars!
This was very easy to find and a great choice for camping when visiting this area with so many parks and waterfalls.

If you're seeking off grid camping and do not require any frills then this might be the spot for you. Chris was very responsive with the booking and provided supportive directions. If bathing in the river, 100 foot whispering pines, and camp fires by night rocks your world, then you might want to book a weekend. If you want to see the stars of the cosmos brilliantly without light pollution then your in for a treat. You better pack your mosquito spray though, those critters are vicious in the open fields. I never broke out the can at my campsite, it just was not required.

We really enjoyed our time at this beautiful little cabin! It's so private and we loved the easy river access for kayaking, the water is super clear and it's so gorgeous! 4 nights at Black House Mountain Campground
I can not say how impressed I was with this cozy little cabin. There was everything that I could have needed. A small fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. I loved all the small things like plenty of lights above, with additional lamps on the tables, towels, toiletries like shampoo and stuff, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels etc. The beds were so soft because they were memory foam and included sheets, pillow and comforter. I had brought my own bedding so theirs was not needed. AC was nice and cold, hot water was hot! The management was so nice and responsive also. Also loved how close we were to everything. I will 100% be staying at this little get away on my next trip. I highly recommend you staying here.

Chris is the most magnificent host! He went out of his way, so so so extra to make sure everything was delightful and superb. I’ll be back for certain! There are no words to describe how much I do recommend this place and the beauty is remarkable. The Magick there is palpable.

Weekend Trip to Camp David on Cumberland Plateau
We highly recommend staying here! Our original trip fell through so we booked this place at the very last second and Shannon was very accommodating. We stayed 2 nights. The tiny home was a perfect size for me, my husband, and our dog. There’d be room for probably 3 more people too if you wanted. It was our anniversary weekend so we wanted to go somewhere secluded so we didn’t have to deal with anyone else and so our dog could run around off leash and that is exactly what we got. It was very quiet, all you could hear was the creek running and the birds chirping. Our weekend was kind of rainy but the spacious covered back porch still made it an enjoyable weekend. We’ll be back for sure.
Side note if you love nature, we heard whip-poor-wills at night and saw turkeys in the morning.
