It's important to know that this is a raw and challenging terrain. It's a mountain or some may say a hill. We call it a mountain because of the rock bluffs, cliffs, and dramatic nature of this spot. As such, there are cliffs you could fall off, trails that are difficult and dangerous at times depending on your hiking skill level. Quarter Spring Farm is located in Liberty, TN on the western edge of the Cumberland Plateau. It comprises 63 acres of wooded ridges and hollows with exceptional hiking and distinct landscape features. Smith Fork Creek, which feeds Center Hill Lake, is visible from the campsite. Quarter Spring Farm’s history is murky and still being discovered. The house is over 100 years old. There are stone property walls that may predate the civil war. We believe this site was a Mississippian period settlement because of the large amount of artifacts we have found. Please note: there is no electricity at the dome. There will be a battery with a light and the option to charge your phone. There is no parking at the dome. The walk is uphill and takes about 5 minutes or so. This is still a tent, the dome is not insulated and is not 100% sealed. Bugs do get inside from time to time. I will also provide you with water for cleaning and at least a gallon to drink. Just let me know if you need more. If you can get here before it gets dark, that is the best. If you can’t, that’s ok, we’ll just be hiking in the dark. Luckily I know my way around pretty good.

My oldest son Ben, and I built this campsite in January of 2024, from both our visions, and tried to make it a truly magical setting. Ben was also featured in two episodes of Building Off The Grid, on the Discovery Channel, so he put quite a bit of expertise and knowledge into our site. I love hosting and decorating, so the interior of the tent is constantly changing. Also features cedar outhouse with composting toilet, cedar bridges built across rocks, as well as two chair hammock area, picnic table and gas grill. Firepit has natural log seating and several more folding chairs, pillows and outdoor blankets stored in waterproof chest. Tent features a queen size bed, adult size folding cot stored under bed, adult size sleeping pad, 2 upholstered chairs set up as reading/relaxing nook, coffee maker, and Yeti battery pack for electrical and charging needs. We will provide drinking water and extra water for washing up. We supply all linens and dishware needs. First Aid Kit is provided, but we are just a short walk through the woods if you need anything. Nestled on 1 acre of our 10 acre hobby farm, which includes Peacocks, chickens, 4 cats, 5 Collies and a Weimaraner named Maggie, as well as a couple of goats, including a very friendly dwarf goat named Pickles. You may also see wildlife, such as deer and turkey, strolling down the meadow on the lower part of your site. Strands of lighting and battery candles provide a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere in the evenings. Coolers available if you need one. You can bring up to 2 extra tents for families looking for an out door experience . For additional fees we can provide you with firewood, fresh eggs, homemade breads, cookies, locally sourced honey, and ask us about some home cooked meals! Located at the edge of the prarie on the main trail is a sunrise/sunset/bird-watching platform that is 20 feet in the air with a 2 stage bridge to access it. We updated the outdoor kitchen with a 3 burner propane stove, propane grill and hot running water with a 3 bay sink. Other cooking options include a tripod over the fire and a charcoal grill. A short 10-minute drive to fire tower rd. brings you to a 2 mile loop trail with 2 waterfalls, Upper and Lower Piney Falls. Ozone falls is just a 20 minute drive. Then toward Spring City is Stinging Fork Falls at 25 minutes. Black mountain is my new favorite place especially the south overlook! The Hiking possibilities are nearly endless and close. I'll highlight one thru hike here since both trailheads are only 20 minutes away and is easy to coordinate with only 2 vehicles. It's a 10.2 mile hike that can be done in either direction and has a little something for everyone including a cave, boulder field, cascade and waterfall. Then you have massive Watts Bar Lake which is only 20 minutes away with a plethora of activities including the excursions we offer! We look forward to hosting you!

We had a great stay at the Thunder Dome! The wood stove kept the dome cozy on a chilly night and we were lucky enough to witness the northern lights while we were there! Heather is a great host and we loved meeting the goats, would stay again!

The campsite was very nice, with great personal touches and everything we needed during our stay. There were strings of lights hung throughout the main camp area, which was great for getting around at night. The large tent had everything one might need, from cookware and utensils, blankets, seating, as well as a bed AND a fan for cooling off. The entire setting was very pretty and relaxing, with the tent on a deck perched over large rocks with thoughtful mulched pathways throughout. It was a very nice place and our hosts were very easy to get in contact with, making sure we had a great time. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great campsite with extra perks.

The land is awesome. Weather was perfect, so we just slept outside the tent on the deck in a sleeping bag and hammock. We were there when their Halloween Haunted Woods was open, and that was amazing to experience!

The clear walls and ceiling make for a forest emersed one of a kind experience. It is like sleeping on the porch when you were young. Comfy for the whole family.

We found this place online and we are so glad we did! A short girls trip with daughters and their kids, this location made us feel like we were secluded, yet safe. Miss Judy had so many extra touches and a cozy atmosphere. We also got a visit from their peacocks in the morning! We would definitely stay again. Great site and great hosts!

This is a wonderful place for a family getaway. The large rocks on which the yurt is set make the location truly spectacular. I highly recommend purchasing firewood to enjoy making s’mores together. My five-year-old daughter loved visiting the dogs on the property, as well as the chickens, peacocks, roosters, and goats. In the evening, the lights surrounding the yurt create a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere.

On the Rocks is such a rare and stunning place to camp! We really enjoyed the cozy fall setup inside the tent — it felt so welcoming and thoughtful. The fresh pumpkin bread was absolutely delicious, and the eggs are a must-try… so tasty!! We had a great time exploring through the rocks and woods, and even though the site is right beside a road, there wasn’t much traffic at all during the weekend. It truly felt peaceful and semi-private. This was such a refreshing and relaxing place to stay and spend quality time together. We’re so glad we found this gem and can’t wait to come back!
