We hosted a beautiful little 4 acre Hipcamp in CA for years, and sold to buy this 250 acre magickal property in the Appalachian Mountains of Tennessee, just 20 minutes from Fall Creek Falls, Tennessee's most beautiful State Park. Our property is one of a kind. We are on high ground, which means the bugs are not bad, and the views are amazing! We have amazing views of the Sequatchie Valley. We have the most incredible rock formations, some are huge, it’s our favorite part of the land. We have an amazing swimming hole with a huge flat rock right next to it for the most relaxing swimming days! We have 3 beautiful creeks that join at the bottom of the property with a small swimming hole where they join. The creeks have incredible rocks throughout, and are somewhat challenging places to hike, but absolutely beautiful to hike up and down. We have over 20 miles of roads and trails that are amazing for walking, hiking, and horseback riding. There are almost endless areas close to us for ATV riding, so we ask our guests to ride off property to keep our place peaceful. We don’t mind noise from a happy gathering or people playing but we try and keep machine noise down to a minimum. We have places for any type of camping, from backpack camping to Motorhomes, but at the moment we do not have hookups and limited on gravel rv areas, but many off gravel areas. The property has every type of wildlife Tennessee has to offer. Please be kind to our wildlife and don’t feed them. We have extensive cave systems from natural to old coal mine caves. There are endless dangers to these caves, from collapsing, to gases, and others… we ask you to enjoy looking from the outside and don’t go adventuring in. We are fun easy going people, and we ask our guests to be the same. Weekend Trip to Firefly Creek Retreat

Alessandra and Gianfranco were excellent hosts and provide a perfect camping experience for those looking to connect with nature but still have some of the comforts of home. As hosts, they were available and accommodating but nonintrusive. We booked last minute for a group of 4 families and they welcomed us with open arms. We had one overlanding trailer with a rooftop tent, one jeep with a rooftop tent and 4 ground tents. They have two great spots to set up camp, one in a wooded area with two toilets and a kitchen area and another with a toilet and outdoor shower, kitchen, fire pit, and teepee. We could have all easily fit in either space but chose the space near the teepee. We were all pleasantly surprised by the toilets… they were comfortable and easy to use and had no smell at all. Alessandra and Gianfranco cleaned them a couple of times a day. Be sure to bring your own toilet paper with you though! We are hoping to visit again this winter when it snows and we are already planning another group trip in the spring.

Weekend Trip to Firefly Creek Retreat

Oh my goodness, the hosts were incredibly kind and attentive to our needs. Our tent and belongings got wet after a heavy rain; the hosts helped us set up another place to spend the night. The farm was fabulous, with well-cared-for animals that my daughters enjoyed petting. The greenery produced delicious, rich-flavored herbs, onions, tomatoes, and beautiful flowers that we added to our table. The facilities were in excellent condition, down to every detail. The site had a mini kitchen area with a stove and a sink with running water. It also had a shower with hot running water, and the compost toilet was clean and comfortable. My family and I had a great time!

Weekend Trip to Cricklewood

Micah and Rachel were the sweetest hosts that we hope we can now call our friends. We hope to visit them again soon because we enjoyed their safe and serene property, hospitality, and proximity to Fall Creek Falls. Micah gifted us fire wood and margaritas for our first night and we even left with fresh eggs! Staying with them was a tremendous blessing and we are forever grateful for them. This site would support any style rig or camping. Amazing stargazing on clear nights.

4 nights at Howland's Hideout

Kurt and Maria are wonderful people. I had two water leaks in our motorhome upon arrival. Kurt took the time to help me get parts and even soldered a cracked copper water line within the on demand water heater. We were up and running less than 24 hours and got to enjoy Fall Creek Falls which is only a few miles from their Hip-camp. Visited with Kurt and Maria every evening and had fun conversations. If we ever get back to that area we will be looking them up. Thanks Kurt and Maria

Kurt was incredibly helpful. We had a few things that went wrong with our rv and Kurt was very available to help. We offered him some money to help and he would not take what we offered. Kurt and Maria are amazing hosts. I can’t recommend them enough. There place was only a few miles outside of fall creek falls state park which we could not get a reservation in. In my opinion Howland’s hideout was much better than staying in the park Plus we got to hang out with sassy and star. Their dogs. Amazing
