Learn more about this land:You’ll cross the covered bridge (clearance 11’6” ) as you enter our farm, a 73 acre small family farm, nestled in the Buffalo Valley of Northeast TN, and featuring a down home country atmosphere. What makes our farm special are all of the unique extras: a working log cabin blacksmith shop, log cabin art gallery, certified commercial kitchen, lots of watchable wildlife, and walking trails. We have a one acre wildlife pond and a smaller pond fed by springs and Buffalo Creek, which runs through the farm. This 1890's farm was many things in times long ago! It acted as a working Tobacco Farm, a country store and was known to have the purest spring in the region by the indians and mountain men! It also has a dark past complete with murder and moonshine! For a full history check out this book, Red Hill. The untold story of the Whitson Brothers and the Murder of Kit Byrd. The short version of the story: The farm also acted as a country store that was also a front for moonshine. The Whitson Brothers who owned our farm had a deal with Kit Byrd; a mountaineer from "on the mountain" who had a knack for making good shine. It ultimately was the death of him at the hands of the 3 Whitson Brothers. This murder years later led to the death of a large percentage of the population in this small NC Mtn town. Our scenic campground sits in a wooded area overlooking a meadow that slopes down to a small, year-round creek. Enjoy sunrise and sunset views for much of the year, along with frequent sightings of deer, turkeys, Canadian geese, and mallard ducks—despite being just minutes from the city.
The campground borders an active railroad line. While trains pass only 1–2 times a day, they have no reason to sound their horns. Please do not approach the tracks as there are no fences, and trespassing is strictly prohibited.
Each site includes a 12' x 12' raised tent deck with 1/4" board gaps for securing stakes. Parking for one vehicle is available at each site, with overflow parking just a few hundred feet away. A large fire ring with stump seating is provided at each site.
Amenities include a portable toilet, a central water hydrant, safety lighting, and clearly marked parking and campsite areas to help with nighttime navigation.
In May and June, fireflies light up the trees and meadow. On clear nights, the train embankment blocks city lights, revealing a brilliant night sky. A historic cemetery dating to before the American Revolution is also located on the property.
We are in Tennessee, and poison ivy is present—please learn to identify and avoid it. Our family is allergic and actively working to remove it from the grounds.

The Smokey Mountains, Gatlinburg, and Dollywood are about a 2 hour drive through amazing mountain views. The annual Rhododendron Festival takes place minutes away. Supplies can be found at the state park camp store or in town at Redi-Mart or Dollar General. Water and showers are down by barn. A Gator is available for the duration of your stay. Please arrive before sundown so we can meet you the first time you stay to show you the way and make sure you are comfortable driving Gator. We will have you follow us up to the campsite and from there you can come and go and just leave the Gator by your car near the barn when you are out and about and when checking out. A small Bluetti power charging station will be available in the tent (for light charging of cell phones, other) which can be recharged by the barn if used heavily. A Coleman stove with a small propane tank, pots, a frying pan and utensils is also included in the site. Another small propane tank is provided for the radiator in the tent.

A Tiny-Aframe is a semi primitive glamping site, nestled next to a flowing creek on 15 acres in the mountains of WNC. Electricity/WiFi are available, there is NO running water at our property, but if you would like to shower in a comfortable setting there is a new YMCA in Spruce Pine which is about 20 minutes away and has a daily fee of 10.00 a day to shower up.
Get close with nature by relaxing in a hammock, sitting by the fire, or hiking the old logging roads on the property. Nice secluded tent campsite on an angora bunny farm. Listen to the sound of the mountain creek while you sleep, and cuddle with bunnies by the running water wheel during the day. Very relaxing spot to decompress and unplug on 7 acres that are mostly wooded.
Pisgah National Forest is just two miles away with plenty of hiking to explore. The charming town of Burnsville is just 10 miles on a beautiful, scenic highway. Homeplace Brewery, Birdfoot Taproom, and Snapdragon are among the local spots to visit. Asheville is also nearby at just under an hour’s drive.
The trail entrance to Big Butt is a couple miles away with a few great overlook points. If you want to do the whole 24 mile length of the trail (featuring 5 mountain peaks above 6,000ft), I can make shuttle arrangements for your party to be picked up at the end.
Navitat Ziplining is very close, as well as gorgeous flower farms and Mountain Light Sanctuary to visit over in Barnardsville. Come enjoy our mountain community!

Beautiful mountain views and complete privacy located on 11 secluded acres. 1/2 mile to Bailey Mountain hiking trials and 1/2 mile to downtown Mars Hill where you can enjoy the university, restaurants, brewery, coffee shops, grocery stores, and art galleries. 20 minute drive to downtown Asheville, Blue Ridge Parkway, and Wolf Laurel ski slopes. ***Dome is completely off grid, runs completely off solar power. Guests can check how much power they have on the generator under the kitchen countertop by hitting the display button. Electric should be sufficient but glampers will do are responsible for using the electricity responsibly so as to not drain the battery completely.
There is a microwave for cooking, a charcoal grill on the deck (charcoal and grill necessities included) and a fire ring for open flame cooking. There is a hammock provided for warmer days!
Please note that when temperatures dip into the teens and the single digits make sure to bring warm clothing as dome can still get a bit chilly on those nights. Also note that there is a hand washing station outside of the dome next to the port a potty however when temperatures dip into the teens and single digits the water can freeze up in the hand washing station. We do also provide hand sanitizer as a back up. The outdoor shower is only open typically from April through October. In addition, the only form of heat is a wood burning stove with starters and wood provided, so it will be your responsibility to make sure that the stove keeps burning with wood as to keep the dome warm. This most likely will entail getting up at least once a night to stoke/put wood on the fire. On very hot summer days the dome can get very warm inside. We have a high powered fan and black out curtains to help but it still can get very warm. Best to utilize the outdoor space in the late morning/early afternoon hours or use this time to explore the area. THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING!
Also, there may be some bugs that you see. Especially stink bugs in September and October. We do our best to keep bugs out, yet this is a Glamping experience which is between camping and a typical Airbnb experience so please plan/pack/expect accordingly. Thanks!

The camp site was awesome! Loved the amenities and how safe it felt. Bathrooms were very clean and stocked. The hospitality was top notch and would definitely go back to camp here again. The pond was FULL of trout and huge ones! The only thing that I would say is that $10 per fish you catch is a little much. I think if the price was lowered to maybe like $2 or $3 then it would be more worth it. And fun. Felt a little robbed from that but other than that, loved absolutely everything else!

Absolutely beautiful views, from the time you wake up, to the time you go to bed. The wood stove is a huge plus, especially since it got down to about 33 our last night in. The outdoor shower was great! Literally felt totally isolated and enjoyed our time to ourselves. Played some cornhole, had fires, enjoyed the birds, enjoyed the view from the dome. Everything was great. We will deff be going back! Thanks again!

Nice little farm with lots of animals. Very cool for kids. Picnics. Or just laying in the sun. Clean bathrooms and water are easily accessible . I've also been purchasing baked goods as well as bison chili from the owners of the farm...so that's been wonderful. No need to bring food for the picnic. Pat makes the best baked goods and chilli. Robyn, the blacksmith gave me a full lesson on constructing a steak BBQ utensil from scratch. It was very informative and it is truly the best tool I've ever used while cooking steak . I would highly recommend getting some of his stuff and maybe asking for a lesson . Very unique stuff I've never seen in stores . Worth every penny. Come here if you're looking to unwind, possibly grab some chilli and baked goods , speak to the ancient bison , pet the goats, and tread the winding creek , this is the spot.

They really did a sweet job here with the wooded area they have. I enjoyed the train that came through beside the hipcamp. Nice wooden decked tent platforms with metal fire rings. Port-a-potty and water spigot available. Was perfect for a one night get away. Quick drive for restaurants, etc..

Lovely find - quiet, low key, and off the beaten path! A beautiful creek meanders through the property, and Laura was extremely responsive in the messaging app. Would absolutely stay again!

If you have this saved as a potential spot just pick it! This place and these people are by far the best. Antoinette and Larry are the most perfect hosts you will ever meet. She made us cookies, bread, soap, her chickens left us eggs and she even gave us butter for the bread. Larry can make the hell out of a fire so just because it rained doesn’t mean you won’t have fire. “Make it Fun!” That is Larry’s motto and they do everything they can to make sure you have the best trip possible. They have everything you need so you don’t have to pack the whole car even though we always do. They had cots, chairs, pots, pans, coffee, a coffee pot, plates, eating utensils and knives for chopping, cutting board, salt, pepper, oven mitts, a grille, grilling utensils, a gazebo with bug netting and privacy layer, a toilet, water heater, fresh purified drinking water that comes from a spring, an outdoor shower, towels, a fire pit, firewood, a kitchen sink and even more! The chickens were friendly which we loved since we had to get rid of ours when we moved to the city. There were times when we just sat under the gazebo and contemplated staying forever. There were nights we just looked up at the stars trying to pick out constellations. There was no light pollution so the stars seemed even brighter than normal or maybe it was the magic of feeling like you just belong there. They make you feel like family and so welcomed it was heartwarming. Thank you so much Antoinette and Larry! You’re the best!

Loved staying in the cabin! It was cozy and quiet. Our dogs loved it as much as my wife and I. We really enjoyed stargazing at night in the hot tub.

Very nice and clean area/camping spaces. Platforms for each site are great for tent or cooking space if not tent camping.
Sites are a little closer together than expected but would only be an issue if the camps were all occupied and not respectful of each other.
Enjoyed our stay and will be back in the future!

We really enjoyed this spot. My 9 year old got up every morning to feed the bunny’s. Close to some good hikes. And very quiet. We will definitely go back.
