Ahhh, the heartland. Wide open spaces of undeveloped land in which to spread your wings and find some breathing room. Nebraska National Forests and Grasslands is one of these places, comprised of two forests of ponderosa pine and three grassland areas. Come here to set up your temporary little house on the prairie and be a pioneer camper for a while! Wandering and exploring is unrestricted for non-motorized travel here, meaning freedom is yours for the taking! If you don’t want to just head into the abyss, try visiting the nation's oldest federal tree nursery (awww, baby trees!), or the largest extinct bison boneland in the world at the Hudson-Meng Bison Research Center. Quiet RV Camping Beneath Red Rock Cliffs
River’s Bend Campground is a small, peaceful RV campground designed for travelers who value space, privacy, and a calm atmosphere. Nestled beneath a red rock cliff and wrapped by the spring-fed Fall River as it curves in a natural horseshoe around the land, River’s Bend offers a rare blend of natural beauty and easy convenience.
With just six RV sites—including three oversized 35’ x 100’ pull-through sites, two spacious 25’ x 100’ sites, and one 35’ x 60’ pull-in/back-out site—we intentionally keep things uncrowded and low-key. All sites feature full hookups, making River’s Bend ideal for self-contained RV travelers who appreciate comfort without the bustle of large parks.
Located just outside Hot Springs with direct highway access, arrivals and departures are simple and stress-free. Because of this convenient location, some road noise may be present, particularly during the day. Once you’re parked, however, sites are oriented toward the river and walking path, where the surrounding landscape and natural sounds create a relaxed setting that feels far removed from busy travel corridors. If complete silence is a priority, a more remote setting may be a better fit.
River’s Bend is best suited for couples and solo travelers seeking a restful stop. This is not a party campground. We prioritize a respectful, low-key environment and observe quiet hours to help ensure a peaceful stay for all guests. The maximum capacity per site is four people.
There is no shared shower house; all sites are intended for fully self-contained RVs.
We have rural water/potable hookups along with 20-, 30-, and 50-amp electrical hookups. Septic hookups are coming soon.
Our rates reflect the small size of the campground, oversized full-hookup sites, and the quiet, uncrowded experience we aim to provide.

Fantastic spot. If you're looking for a quiet no nonsense base camp to explore the area this fits the purpose. Wonder owners, top notch sites with a ton of room. Subtle solar lighting at night, new electrical and water hookups. Jarvis brought by a propane firepit that was there when I arrived. Picnic tables clean and new. The stream/pond provided a close up view of a Beaver on a mission cruising back and forth. Walking path past towering shear multi colored and layered rock formations that glowed with the sunset. If you're looking for a relaxed well kept site I recommend River Bend.

Absolutely beautiful camping area! The owners have gone above and beyond to make it nice and continue to make improvements and additions. There is road noise since it is right off the highway but we didn’t mind it. It is centrally located to so many attractions in the area and we loved our time there. Highly recommend!

This place was super nice. Plenty of room. The sights are huge and spread out. Really good drinking water. Nice little river to check out and listen to. Easy to find. Easy in easy out. The hosts were very nice and had some good suggestions of things to do/see around the area. I have no complaints. I’d definitely come back.

Stoked we were the second ever Hipcamper here and really pleased with the site. It’s quaint newly built property with very tasteful amenities; nothing tacky like those RV resorts. River’s Bend camp site is a first class experience all the way. There are limited sites to make your experience more relaxing and exclusive. It is the best spot in the area to spend a few nights. Kids have a blast with the river with koi and beavers.
The backdrop blocks the rising sun to allow a little more time to enjoy the morning in the shade.
Fantastic is all we have to say.
The owners are wonderful. They have taken great thought and appreciation to their campsite.
You have to spend the night if in the area.

As a RV Park it was reasonably well kept and served its purpose of providing a quiet and safe place to sleep for the night. The woman who checked us in was very welcoming and gave us suggestions of local restaurants if we chose to eat out. We have a self contained vehicle so can’t comment about any of the facilities and it was raining so we stayed put in our van.

The campground is conveniently located next to the Badlands entrance. It’s definitely better than parking on the pavement drive of the NP campground. My disappointment was in the conditions in the bathroom/shower. Black mildew adorned the aging shower curtains, and increased the yuk factor. The bathroom itself seemed ok.
