My Neighbor has started his own Campsite, "The Swimming Hole". If mine is booked up and you still want to camp, look him up. His is better suited for small groups but has much more privacy. We have a new road to the campsite; you can now drive down with two-wheel drive vehicle or RV down and park near your tent! There is plenty of soft sand to set up one tent or ten tents; large groups are welcome for an extra fee. A Porta-Potty is available at the campsite. Swimming is usually possible at the base of the falls; however, large amounts of rain can change conditions and make it unusable. I should also add, this is not a completely private campsite deep in the woods. The camp is visible from a shared driveway, and my residence is up a hill that overlooks the area. Also, I do not own the land on the other side of the stream. Occasionally, the owners of that land will spend a weekend afternoon enjoying the waterfall view also. Still much quieter and more private than a regular campground. Glamping tents and additional camping tents are available through a local company. Look in the pictures for the tent with red, white, and blue balloons. Message me for details. Close to US National Whitewater Center (mountain biking, whitewater rafting, kayaking), Kings Mountain National Military Park (Horseback riding and history), Crowders Mountain (Hiking), 3 miles off of I-85 and US-321 for people passing through.

Dogpatch Farms is a farm offering Broad River access( canoe portage under construction but usable) campsites with the goal of making camping affordable again. We aren’t shooting for fancy or flashy just a clean quiet spaces and friendly safe environment where a person or group can enjoy nature without breaking the bank. We have one space for a RV/Camper with power water and septic dump ( down by the Barndo) and only a few with power and water only ( up by the well house)($60 and $40 per night respectively). Barndo is an active construction zone as we turn it into a full facility with cooking and laundry benefits so don’t expect fancy but that’s not our goal. Expect to see a sweet dog, a goat and probably a chicken ( and even enjoying a free egg) and definitely a tractor. Have a good time but I don’t tolerate stupid and you are expected to not leave a mess like a true outdoorsman should. There is an of wildlife including beavers, turkeys( roosting in the valley), deer and such to see because of our low impact approach so observe but don’t harass. The Resort is located at 241 Battleground Road in Grover, NC, just off I-85 at exit 2 (Hwy. 216 S). “Phase one” is a soft opening which features ten cozy rental cabins and very large, full hookup RV sites (50 amp, water, sewer, Highspeed Wi-Fi is available throughout the property for their guest’s enjoyment.) at a reduced pricing while amenities are still under construction, providing their guests with a preview of what is soon to come. We now have, the beautiful new Clubhouse that features a reception area, coffee bar, wine/beer single serve bar, a well- stocked store (featuring RV and camping supplies, drinks, snacks, souvenirs, etc.), restrooms, a laundry, area attractions info, customer service, common lounge area with a 70 inch TV, a community bulletin board, and much more. Our amenities include a basketball court, pickleball court, ping pong, corn hole, a playground and a dog park. In addition to their regular amenities, our guests will soon be able to enjoy new offerings like live entertainment, outdoor movies, a zero-entry swimming pool with a wet deck, water fountains, gazebos and beautiful foliage, horseshoes, plus more sports options (including tournaments), Once construction is completed, their resident Activities and Entertainment Coordinator will soon be leading a number of structured entertainment activities for all ages throughout the year including trivia contests, game nights, scavenger hunts, Talent Show, BBQ’s, children’s activities, crafts, ice cream socials, sporting tournaments, Chili Cookoffs, holiday themed events, “Walking Club,” “S’mores Saturday,” “Campfire Storytime,” “RV How-To” classes and more. We have free ranging ducks and chickens who must stay safe. Taylor’s land was the perfect spot for our midway stop on our roadtrip, not far off the highway and the land itself was gorgeous. Our dog was able to run around off leash, huge plus after hours of driving. The toilet was clean. There were paths through the woods for us to stretch our legs. And our host met us to show us where to set up and could not have been sweeter. Great place to camp!!

I had such an amazing experience car camping at Lucky Farms. This was my very first time camping and this was a great start to my camping adventures. Taylor and Marty were fantastic hosts and so gracious. I felt safe and comfortable here so I was able to get a good nights rest. If you love stargazing (like me) you will love this place with beautiful views of the moon, stars, and sunset/rise. This is the perfect place for campers traveling solo or as a couple/family. My dog loved the open field, but I arrived a bit later than I intended and I didn’t get a chance to explore the trails and other amenities, so I will be booking another stay here with my dog in the future. I would definitely recommend Lucky Farms to any camper looking for a great place to camp. :)

This was exactly what we were looking for when searching for our daughter’s first camping trip. The owners were so nice and hospitable and the property grounds are just beautiful. The trails throughout the woods light up at night which made my daughter smile for hours on end. She especially loved the rope swing and visiting the horses!. Don’t skip this spot in your search. You’ll regret it.
