My Neighbor has started his own Campsite, "The Swimming Hole". If mine is booked up and you still want to camp, look him up. His is better suited for small groups but has much more privacy. We have a new road to the campsite; you can now drive down with two-wheel drive vehicle or RV down and park near your tent! There is plenty of soft sand to set up one tent or ten tents; large groups are welcome for an extra fee. A Porta-Potty is available at the campsite. Swimming is usually possible at the base of the falls; however, large amounts of rain can change conditions and make it unusable. I should also add, this is not a completely private campsite deep in the woods. The camp is visible from a shared driveway, and my residence is up a hill that overlooks the area. Also, I do not own the land on the other side of the stream. Occasionally, the owners of that land will spend a weekend afternoon enjoying the waterfall view also. Still much quieter and more private than a regular campground. Glamping tents and additional camping tents are available through a local company. Look in the pictures for the tent with red, white, and blue balloons. Message me for details. Close to US National Whitewater Center (mountain biking, whitewater rafting, kayaking), Kings Mountain National Military Park (Horseback riding and history), Crowders Mountain (Hiking), 3 miles off of I-85 and US-321 for people passing through.

Neal Creek Primitive camping by the creek is located on private property. The two large campsites are approximately 300 feet apart and are located right beside the running creek. After many sleepless nights worrying if we could succeed or not (it was much larger than properties we had been looking for), we bought it! Our favorite spot on the river was virtually inaccessible by any way other than floating. But after hundreds of hours of hard work, we think we have developed a place where others too can enjoy the things we do about the property. Barndo is an active construction zone as we turn it into a full facility with cooking and laundry benefits so don’t expect fancy but that’s not our goal. Have a good time but I don’t tolerate stupid and you are expected to not leave a mess like a true outdoorsman should. There is an of wildlife including beavers, turkeys( roosting in the valley), deer and such to see because of our low impact approach so observe but don’t harass. Beautiful location near South Mountains State Park. The location was easy to find and easy to park the camper. The sites are long and spacious. Everything is well kept. The bathhouse was a nice amenity and very clean. There were two separate bathrooms each with a shower. The campground was very quiet. The perfect place to visit to see Fall colors!

Tellurian is a small quiet campground. We enjoyed a peaceful weekend with an incredible view of the surrounding mountains. The owners were friendly and available if needed. There is a bathhouse with a men's and women's bathrooms with showers. The campground is a short walk to the river...which in November is nice to see but I would think in the summer it is great for swimming. There was plenty of room for our dog to run...and did I mention the views?

Weekend Trip to Tellurian Family Campground

This was our second stay at this beautiful property, and we already know we’ll be back again! We’ve stayed at sites one and two this time around with family, and the views from each are absolutely breathtaking. The campsites are peaceful, private, and perfect for relaxing by the fire after a day of exploring. Our kids especially loved spending time at the river, with the cooler weather this time, it made for such a fun experience. We even brought magnets and discovered some rocks that were magnetized, which turned into an unexpected little science adventure! Jud and Amanda are incredible hosts. Their communication is top-notch, from clear directions and check-in information to thoughtful messages while you’re there, making sure everything is perfect. They truly go above and beyond to make your stay smooth and enjoyable. We can’t say enough great things about this place. It’s the perfect mix of peace, adventure, and stunning scenery, our family favorite that we’ll continue returning to for years to come.

This is our second time camping at Tellurian and we love it! The river access, views, level sites, hook ups, and bathhouse make it very enjoyable to stay at. I know we will be back again in 2026 :)

We had a great time, the kids and the dogs played in the creek, and the sunsets were amazing. Have stayed here before, and will be back again.

The campsite we chose. Camped in the bed of the truck and backed as close as we could to the edge for an amazing view of the river in the morning

Weekend Trip to Dogpatch Farms

I can't say enough good things about Patrick, his hospitality, and the sites and amenities available. This was our second trip at DogPatch and once again, an amazing and memorable experience was had. From the cow trough bath, to watching deer, to identifying spider species we had never seen before, it's all an experience we will never forget. Both times, as we are packing to leave, we are always thinking about another good weekend to come back out. Thanks so much for being an amazing host Patrick! Hopefully we will see y'all again soon.

3 nights at Tellurian Family Campground

Wonderful view of South Mountain State Park as well as the night sky. If you are looking to spend time at South Mountain, Morganton or any of the surrounding towns this is a great location. Small campground with a handful of sites which is perfect for those of us who seek out solitude. No issues with the Full hookups. Worked perfectly.

Used this wonderful campground as a parents getaway! 100% recommend! Jud was super friendly and responsive. Great walk to the rivers and stunning views. Just be sure to follow his provided directions, not your GPS. Happy camping!

Weekend Trip to Tellurian Family Campground

Beautiful, peaceful campground in Casar, NC! Gorgeous mountain views from the sites and easy access to a river. The bathhouse was spotless and the porch at the top of the hill has an amazing view. Wildflowers around the campground were beautiful. Jud, the owner, was friendly and very helpful with tips about the river and best views. Highly recommend for a quiet, scenic getaway!
