Shower, cleaning table, dry firewood, fire pit, a swing set for the kids, fenced in Hipcamp for the pets, soft, green and manicured grass surrounded with trees for privacy, away from the road, quiet, clothes line, electric, potable water - everything!!! Look no further for your next Hipcamp in North Carolina - enjoy so many beautiful places to explore within 20-30 minutes! Plenty of green grass - level - for tents also!

We had an incredible time staying at Barnhill Mountain top campsite! The views were absolutely breathtaking, and the peaceful surroundings made for a perfect getaway. Edwin was a fantastic host—welcoming, helpful, and ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The site was well-maintained, and we loved watching the sunrise and sunset from such a beautiful spot. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a serene and scenic escape. We had a great time. We loved having the animals come up to the fence and interact with us. The spot is not level so just know you will need leveling supplies. Loved our visit.

We had a wonderful stay at Broken Oak. Craig and Sarah were kind and considerate. The bathroom building was clean and well kept. We were even impressed by the quality and amount in the wood bundles, and available for purchase. Thank you for being great hosts!

It’s no surprise this place has so many good reviews, it truly is a hidden treasure. 💗 It’s clean, private, and the mountain views are spectacular. Last night I had a fantastic view of the blood moon eclipse, and saw shooting stars as well. 😀 It’s also the only campsite with an outhouse that isn’t scary. It’s set up so the outhouse is removed slightly downhill off a path, and there is no odor and it’s well kept. I also love that there is a small shelter, and an elevated area with a fire pit. This is an ideal campsite for people who want some privacy. I definitely recommend this place. 💕

Loved this space. Secluded enough without being too far reserved. Instructions were clear and host was accommodating. My dogs had plenty of space to run and there were plenty of extra camp needs in the covered area. Fantastic views. Will come back again!

This place was amazing, top of the Mountain View’s with all the lights below. We got lucky with a full moon the night we stayed, but having an extra place to post up with the rain, an outhouse, and all the add on things you could request sure made it top notch.

I enjoyed camping on the river at Site #2. It was quiet and exactly what I needed. Having close access to water and a bathroom for primitive camping was really nice. I will return.

Edwin’s mountain spot is special. Some of the most beautiful 360* mountain views! Great host who refunded us a night and also had a tree removed for our safety… Highly recommended! We can’t wait to return soon!

Amazing views and very secluded. It is verrry breezy so if you are visiting in the winter months dress WAAARM. My first solo camping trip and I can say I was very impressed. Looking forward to returning in the warmer months.

Craig and Sarah’s property was an excellent spot. The location felt peaceful and secluded, with minimal noise from the highway. Surrounded by nearby wildlife, the area retained its beauty even in winter, enhanced by the comforting presence of the river. The site was clean, and the bathhouse was a great bonus. The owners were very responsive, promptly replacing a broken space heater in the bathroom, which was much appreciated. The hot water was a lifesaver during the harsh winter conditions. Additionally, the property was conveniently close to stores for emergencies, adding extra peace of mind. Overall, as a large family, we thoroughly enjoyed Craig and Sarah’s property and would gladly return, even after enduring the harsh winter event over the South during our stay.

Riverside Camping on the Farm

Sleep under the stars while listening to the river run while staying on a working farm! During the summer months watch our vegetables grow and the pickers pick! The winter months you'll enjoy a sea of green as our cover crop takes over the field. You can cool off in the river or check out the surrounding Pisgah National Forest. Dogs on leashes are welcome and owner is responsible for cleaning up after pet. The farm provides a portable toilet but no other amenities. Campfires may be restricted, so check local regulations. This is a working farm, so please be respectful of the crops and workers and keep dogs on leashes. Fishing is NOT allowed on the river unless you have booked a trip with one of our guides. Please note, if it’s rainy the roads will be muddy and 4-wheel-drive vehicles are the best option. Head 4 miles east to the town of Mills River for restaurants, stores, and services. You can find hiking, biking, and horseback-riding trails within a short bike or car ride in Pisgah National Forest. Chimney Rock State Park is 25 miles east and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountain scenery. Or perhaps go for a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Our guests love staying here: "This was our first time using Hipcamp and we couldn’t have been happier! Candace was great at communicating and quick to respond to our questions. Site 1 was perfect. We had so much room for just the two of us and the water access was great for our dogs to swim. Plus it was so quiet, we’ll probably never go back at state park camping! Thanks for everything and look forward to visiting again!"

Located in the Foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Broken Oak Organics is a fully operational produce and flower farm. Full access to the campsite by vehicle. The North saluda River is just a few short steps away from the front door of your tent. Enjoy a fire pit and white sandy beaches on the edge of the river, then retreat to a 20 foot level tent site, with a picnic table. A brand new full (shared with other campers) bathroom with a shower, is a short walk away. Catch Brown and Rainbow trout, play Cornhole, or hit golf balls when you're not swimming in the river!

Pisgah Riverbend

This property is situated on 50 acres, surrounded by private property with views of the nearby Pisgah National Forest and a 10 minute drive to DuPont State Forest. Campsites are adjacent to the French Broad River. Excellent fishing and boating. It is heavily populated by deer and other wildlife. For this reason, dogs must be kept on a leash. Please note that due to the campground being in low-lying land, the drive in is subject to being slick and muddy, 4WD is always recommended. Message us with any questions. Due to the property proximity to the river and situated in floodway, the sites are subject to flooding during heavy rain events. Voluntary and/or mandatory evacuation may be necessary during any reservation due to high waters or forecast for high water events. If evacuation is necessary, unused portions of reservation will be refunded. Campers are advised to be self-sufficient with water and shower facilities. We do provide a port a potty and firewood is for sale on site (Venmo, PayPal or cash). IF YOU ARE CAMPING WITH A RV OR TRAILER, PLEASE CONTACT US TO DISCUSS A SITE. All sites can accommodate smaller RV camper units. However, larger RV's have limited site availability. Campsites are situated along the river edge. Embankments are steep and near deep water. Although not prohibited, constant supervision for children is a must to avoid serious injury due to natural hazards. If you are floating in from the French Broad River the recommended take out is located at 35.24007° N, -82.69972° W. See images in our photos for the posted Riverbend sign for where to take out.
