Beautiful property, and very nice host. What they’re accomplishing there is super cool. The only issue we had was minorly scratching the top of the 5th wheel on some branches when pulling in.

Excellent spot along the River. Loved having the fire pit right along the water. Although there is the occasional boater putting their boat in at the ramp, it was otherwise quiet and would definitely come back again!

4 nights at Sea Island Serenity Trails

We had a wonderful stay! Wendy is super accommodating and easy to talk to. To help answer some questions about the site, there's a large military style tent, and a small Coleman camper to stay in or there's plenty of room to bring your own RV or travel trailer. You can pull thru from the back of the site if needed. There is full hookups shared with the Coleman. The sewer is a dump bin that would need to be pumped if it gets full. We were there 4 nights without a problem. Extra power cable and water line might be needed. Inside the large tent is some seating along with a table, chairs and activities for kids and adults. There's also a small oven roaster, water kettles, and small fridge. There is a large fire pit, wood provided. Lots of table and chairs around the grounds. Also a port-a-jon and shower closet if needed. There's plenty of room for kids to ride bikes, play on the little ninja course or climb the tire wall. There's a trail at the back that takes you to a playground and rec center. Lots of pretty little decorations and solar lights all around. Some weren't working but no big deal. Couldn't get the patio lights to come on with the remote. Again, not really needed but cute. Super Walmart and shopping 5 minutes away. There are other permanent campers nearby but not too close. They live there. We still had plenty of privacy. If we ever traveled back to Beaufort we'd definitely stay again!

Beautiful property!!! Easy to find, cleared out space with plenty of trees for hammocks. Our neighbors camping next to us were very friendly and we wish we could stay longer! Picnic benches and a fire pit at the site. Thank you so much! We will be back.

Amazing time at the Heirloom Hamlet. The outdoor shower was quite the unique experience. Curt was very communicative and friendly the entire time. I would definitely stay here again.

6 nights at Lowcountry Live Oaks.

We had a great time visiting Beaufort. The campsite is in a good central location to lots of attractions and history. It is not a destination campsite, but a great private spot to stretch out with plenty of room. A little tight to get in and out with larger campers. But doable. Host were helpful without being overbearing. We enjoyed and would not hesitate to stay again. Thanks

2 nights at Friendly Fowl Farm

We absolutely loved camping at Belinda's place. It's secluded enough but convenient at the same time. My kids enjoyed seeing all the friendly ducks, chickens, goats and turkeys! We made a fire on the second night and that helped keeping away the biting flies. Next time we visit we will make sure to pack the citronella candle. Thank you Tony and Belinda for your hospitality!

2 nights at Spacious Skies Savannah Oaks Campground

The campground was easy to find and had hot showers and flush toilets. There was nice shade at our site. As a bonus, there was a Black Rifle coffee shop on the way into Savannah. Good coffee and donuts.

Extremely easy to find, easy to use, and easy to enjoy campsite. Great location just minutes from the beach one way and Beaufort the other. Privacy was nice, but you were still right down the road from restaurants and coffee, etc... . It was just what we were looking for. We will be headed back.

Why buy a home when you can build a fairytale? Hi, I'm Curt. My wife Ani, son Fitch, and I are your average, everyday nonconformists who have been running an experiment. We are trying to figure out if a family can use their own hands and some grit to handcraft a life that you don't need a vacation from. Or better yet, that you would vacation to. Have we done that? You be the judge. About 4 years ago we left our South Florida handcrafting furniture business to pursue this new goal. We set out to build an inspiring experience in simple, eco-friendly living that would find a harmony between some of the old fashioned world that we'd found ourselves missing, and the handful of modern advancements that were actually beneficial. All while keeping it classy. At Heirloom Hamlet, you will see us designing unique, functional cabins, installing solar, composting, planting, and building toilets that are better for our environment. We're bread baking, pasta making, timber milling, woodworking, clay-forming and metal pounding. The goal is to evolve into a small world of self-reliance and harmony with nature. Ani and I are big believers in being mindful and respectful of our environment wherever reasonable. So, we are incorporating both alternative and municipal utilities as they can fit into our homestead design and limited budget. Through good design, our goal is to show just how "normal" small living can feel. We all have personal priorities and those will vary greatly, and that's okay. But no person should be so self-absorbed that we have completely shut out the importance of being respectfully mindful to the earth and to our fellowman. After all, if we don't have that, what do we have? To be completely transparent, though, the creatives in us also would like it if we inspired onlookers to possibly look at their own space and life a little bit differently. We've personally found it to be so fulfilling to distinguish real desires and needs from the ones we've been groomed to pursue, and then work to make them a reality. We've found it energizing to witness our fellowmen and women pursuing a dream. We'd like to be a stimulating memory along any person's journey. Visiting with us, we sure hope our guests don't expect to find a corporate approach to life here, and that they can appreciate some of our old-fashioned ways. That, as our paths cross, we won't be held to a business-first standard that we have worked hard to remove ourselves from. We realize everyone has a right to be themselves, but our presentation at Heirloom Hamlet has been purposefully designed to be a refreshing hideaway from the norm.

Overview

This island off South Carolina is famous for its unspoiled beaches and easy resort living. Under an hour from Savannah, Hilton Head Island is also a golfing destination. The island has over 30 courses, including Harbour Town, home of PGA's RBC Heritage tour. Hilton Head has more hotels than campgrounds, but several RV resorts let campers unwind in style. These upscale campgrounds are big on amenities, from swimming pools to saunas and tennis courts. Extras like Wi-Fi, cable TV, and full hook-ups are usually included. Tent campers have to trudge back to the mainland to sleep under the stars. The nearby town of Bluffton has private campgrounds with tent camping areas. Big rigs can find roomy sites at RV parks in Hardeeville. Of course, you can still day trip to Hilton Head. Coligny is the most popular beach, with swimming, bike rentals, and restaurants within walking distance. For fewer crowds, look to beaches on the north shore. Islanders Beach is especially low-key on account of the resident-only parking. But you can totally bike or walk over. Or you can look for alligators at the island's nature preserves, including the Audubon Newhall Preserve. If you're determined to pitch a tent on an island, Skidaway Island is only an hour away in Georgia. The state park has tent camping amid live oaks, along with cabins and some full hook-up sites. Hunting Island in South Carolina is another good alternative to Hilton Head for camping.
