4 nights at The River

This campsite is Heaven! We booked for four nights but extended our stay because this place is so amazing. It’s very private, there are only two sites but we were the only guests. The owners and a couple of their relatives live here and they’re all super nice, helpful and very respectful of guests and their privacy. Our dog could run free and play with the other lovely fur babies who live here. It’s so peaceful! We never wanted to leave! There’s a beautiful silence, you just hear the river’s flowing as it’s a stone's throw away. There’s a fire pit and all the wood you might need. You can go tubing or canoeing and Michael gave us everything we needed to do that. I can't say enough good things about this place. It’s a gem and we want to come back for sure! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great experience in a quiet, beautiful property. A whole immersion in nature, with all the comforts of full hookup.

A real cool place in the middle of an urban setting, who would’ve known that you could have a waterfall and climbing rocks and a great place to set up your tent. Of course you hear traffic because it is in the city, but my goodness it was great.

I loved that the showers had hot water! They also had portapotties available and firewood for sale. Clean drinking water was available. The primitive sites had plenty of trees for setting up hammocks but be wary of brining any tents larger then a 10'x10' space.

2 nights at Starlight Hills

We stayed at MTG 1 for 2 nights with our 2 grandsons and 2 dogs. Starlight Hills is a great spot for camping...we loved the view and the hammocks especially (MTG 1 is next to the common area with grills and hammocks). It was a bit hot (expected), so bring battery fans! (and bug repellent). Water station was great (although a walk down/up hill from our site). Port-a-Potty not far. Showers were excellent! Overall, a wonderful experience. One suggestion is to add a few more grills (2 may not be enough for those full weekends). Yurt was clean and thoughtfully arranged, although a bit tight with our crew. William was very responsive to questions and made sure to greet us with our add-ons we purchased. Memories were made....thank you!!

Amazing spot. Water was cool and refreshing. Perfect amount of shade from the trees. Great seating with picnic table and swings. Family across the river there for a lot of the time, so not completely private.

2 nights at Above the Fray Glamping, Black Mtn.

Very nice experience. I love the roads. Got a glimpse of small black bear close to entry of main road. Great place to stay - nights are quiet and sleeping areas very safe. Treehouse was well equipped with electricity and counter space. Just bring food and cooler.

Magical place easily one of the best Hipcamps. We have been to. its summer time would recommend Bugspray but overall nothing too crazy. 10/10 will be back with the family

Weekend Trip to Mountain View Acres

This site is at the bottom of a hill and was all grass, very nice to sleep on. It’s also VERY private. Nobody else next to you. It does have an electric fence for the cows but I parked my vehicle between the site and the fence and then we used our solar path lights to make sure we didn’t walk into it at night. It was worth it because my 2 and 5 year old were in love with all the animal visitors and it really made their stay. My little guy would drag his chair over and just sit and watch them. They love the ducks cat and chickens especially. This sit has a killer sunset view. And is surrounded by wildflowers. There is a wood stack! I brought my own but that was a blessing. And a very huge firepit. Luckily I have a little grill with legs to put in the fire for our meals. The bath house is large and was kept very clean, all fixtures working. At night, you could watch allll these fireflies lifting out of the grass around it and it felt magical. The host was not only communicative but very kind. I was worried about the electric fence as I didn’t realize I’d be so close and she offered to move us. But it was worth it like I said. Her son also ran a bell and fed the cows for my kids which they thought was fantastic. And they turned the fence off for some petting as well. The property is pretty and there was cell reception and we were 6 minutes from a gas ration so while it was set apart, you could restock on things if you needed them. I recommend Little Bradley Falls nearby

We had an awesome stay! Fern Gully was a beautiful place to spend the night and it was only a minute or two walk from our car. The river was gorgeous and even better than I expected, and it was nice to be so close to downtown.

Located on family land granted by King Charles in 1685 we have worked hard to restore and refurbish in a sustainable way, using the trees and supplies from the land that they sit on. Hand crafting doors and furniture the way the family did it 140 plus years ago. The history of this place is deep, even the nails for the cabin and farm house that is now the clubhouse were hand crafted by my great grandfather in his blacksmith shop, along with the wagon wheels, horse shoes, misc farm utensils etc... there was no running out to Lowes to pick up what was needed, it was made in the blacksmith shop. We love riding ATV's and SXS's on the trails on the mountains that I grew up on with my 3 brothers, we hope the people who visit and experience the mountains feel about them the way we do, we love em. We like to give riding tours and talking about the mountain and its challenges. We named the park from the famous product that was created here during prohibition, Cherry Bounce Moonshine. You can visit some of the original still sites on the mountain, of course they are not operational today. About the adventure co side, We are an adrenaline pumping ATV and SXS park with 25+ miles of mountainous trails at four skill levels; Green (Easy), Blue (Challenging), Black Diamond (Very Difficult) and Double Black Diamond (Most Difficult). You can bring your own ATV or SXS or rent one of ours. We have cabins & camp sites that are accessed by ATV or SXS on the mountains as well as hiking or biking. We do not allow jeeps, trucks or dirt bike motorcycles on the mountain, just ATV's and SXS vehicles.

The views are hypnotic, looking down and out over the continental divide. Good morning, and sunsets can be seen from the same spot. Your car is parked within feet of your deck, so Car Campers and experienced campers can enjoy. Designed with campers and dogs in mind. The deck is large (384 square feet) with a tin roof. Some roofs are full size, some are two-thirds, and some are one-third, depending on what one wants for tent size or sun exposure. (See pictures of each site/deck) Each deck features sun and rain curtains to help keep you comfortable in normal weather conditions. Dogs enjoy a two-gate system, allowing guests and dogs be leash-free and away from the road. All dog owners know to pick up after their pets. The human Private Porta John is cleaned on a weekly basis. Lights and electrical outlets are 110V (3 prongs) for YOUR coffee pots, electric grills, mattress inflators, crockpots, electric blankets, fans, et I do not provide any electrical appliances, other than counter area lighting and low-level string lights, so one can see the night sky Many of my campers will "Pay it Forward" and leave coffee pots, hot plates, fans and such, so count yourself lucky to find a deck with them. I provide chairs, 5 gallons of fresh water in containers, a fickle solar shower, and a pop-up changing room, along with an assortment of camping supplies from dog bowls to antimicrobial. Private decks on a dead-end gravel road mean hopefully the sounds will only be of nature. The conveniences of electricity, porta john, water, chairs, table, roof, cleaning supplies, rain curtains, and astounding views have my Glampers coming back often. Designed with Dogs in mind with a two-gate system and no need for a leash when on the deck. Obnoxious, barking dogs are not welcome, so bring only controlled and well-socialized dogs. After years of looking all over the mountains for a river property we could call our own, our favorite spot on the river came up for sale. It just so happened it was nearly halfway between where we both grew up. After many sleepless nights worrying if we could succeed or not (it was much larger than properties we had been looking for), we bought it! Our favorite spot on the river was virtually inaccessible by any way other than floating. But after hundreds of hours of hard work, we think we have developed a place where others too can enjoy the things we do about the property. We dream big and Tellurian remains a work in progress, but we feel we have created a place where folks can enjoy the peacefulness of nature, the river and incredible views. Waterfall camping close to CLT

My Neighbor has started his own Campsite, "The Swimming Hole". If mine is booked up and you still want to camp, look him up. His is better suited for small groups but has much more privacy. We have a new road to the campsite; you can now drive down with two-wheel drive vehicle or RV down and park near your tent! There is plenty of soft sand to set up one tent or ten tents; large groups are welcome for an extra fee. A Porta-Potty is available at the campsite. Swimming is usually possible at the base of the falls; however, large amounts of rain can change conditions and make it unusable. I should also add, this is not a completely private campsite deep in the woods. The camp is visible from a shared driveway, and my residence is up a hill that overlooks the area. Also, I do not own the land on the other side of the stream. Occasionally, the owners of that land will spend a weekend afternoon enjoying the waterfall view also. Still much quieter and more private than a regular campground. Glamping tents and additional camping tents are available through a local company. Look in the pictures for the tent with red, white, and blue balloons. Message me for details. Close to US National Whitewater Center (mountain biking, whitewater rafting, kayaking), Kings Mountain National Military Park (Horseback riding and history), Crowders Mountain (Hiking), 3 miles off of I-85 and US-321 for people passing through.
