Weekend Trip to Open large grass fields near pond

A quick last-minute getaway and my second stay at Marc's property — perfect for a spontaneous evening escape, especially with bad weather on the way. It was great to let the pup run around and relax for a bit. Marc is always very responsive, and I really appreciate having his place as a go-to spot for a short retreat.

2 nights at Double J Acres

Awesome host. Jennifer was there to greet and stopped by a couple of times to make sure everything was good. Nice spot, It was the only spot so it was quiet. Enjoyed a fire in the fire pit and there was enough random tree branches around to keep it going. It had 30 amp and 110 outlet. I managed to trip a breaker, my fault. Jennifer showed me where the breaker box was. Excellent stay.

4th stay here and will be looking forward to more in the future. Perfect spot for my layover needs.

Rebecca had ample room for us and we were able to look at their fruit orchard and greenhouse while we were there. Very quiet. And our pets were welcome.

Was on a lane with about 4 other houses on the lane. A quiet space and clean. Host was great w communication. We stayed one night and appreciated the spot while traveling.

Great experience camping at Utopia Farm. Ray and Cindy are easy going and a pleasure to chat with. We love the horses, so very friendly. Goats are a riot! They we’re interested in what we were doing (Overlanding). We love sharing our adventures with those who are interested. Looking forward to seeing them again and highly recommend camping here!

My group had an amazing time! It felt super secluded and private, but we were still within walking distance of the farm so we could easily visit the animals. Marc was incredibly welcoming and was happy to show us around and introduce us to all of the animals, and was readily available at all times if we needed him. I 100% recommend this place to anyone who loves animals and anybody who wants a nice secluded camping trip!

Weekend Trip to Too Many Oaks Plantation

Michael's land is so peaceful! The soft pine needle floor of the wooded areas are beautiful. The available bathroom, kitchen, and sitting area was a complete plus, and. I didn't realize it was as user ready as it was !!! The outside of the house did have a bit of spooky look to it, lol, but it's charm and convenience made up for it for sure. It's a perfect half way stop for solo drivers making the trek from WV to southern Florida. My Great Dane loved being able to walk around to stretch is legs while checking out the beautiful surroundings. We'll be back!

This was exactly what we expected - a quiet piece of land to park for the night. Nothing fancy, but it worked well as a quick stopover. Peaceful and no surprises. Debra was great at communicating and her nephew was helpful at pointing us where to park. I would stay here again

Weekend Trip to Beautiful Lake Camping

The land was absolutely beautiful. The fishing was fantastic. Ann and Jack had tons of wood for a fire everynight. Ann brought us a dozen of fresh eggs from her chickens. It was so peaceful. I highly recommend staying on their property. You will not regret it.

2 nights at Too Many Oaks Plantation

We stayed here for two nights. It was decently close to Congaree national park, so we were able to explore and hike for both days we were there there. The first morning, one of his neighbors woke us up asking us what we were doing there, but I was able to communicate with Michael and everything seemed to be resolved. Slightly concerning to wake up to, but he handled it very well, and the second night had no issues other than weather. Thank you Michael!

Weekend Trip to Too Many Oaks Plantation

A nice little private camping spot that you can drive right up to. A first look it seems very primitive, but the host made sure there was electrical hookups and a water source (hose). The use of the cabin toilet & kitchen makes it better than primitive. The "cabin" is actually a very old homestead that makes you feel as if you've stepped back in time, and is very charming.

1 night at Too Many Oaks Plantation

Easy access from I26, but feels like a little hideaway. Michael is a wonderfully welcoming host. The little “Tom Sawyer” 125 year old farmhouse is cool. And it’s nice to have indoor plumbing for a bathroom. We had a very nice quick one night stay.

Close to Columbia ( 30 minutes ) for a nice trip to the zoo or a float down the Saluda River with Adventure Carolina. A perfect mix of nice and quite but still close to town. Also just in Synchronous fireflies, which are fireflies that gather and flash their lights at the same time as part of a mating ritual, are expected to light up the Congaree National Park in May. Beautiful Lake Camping

Lake Wateree, a 13,250-acre lake with unspoiled natural views, was created by the damming of the Wateree River in 1920. It is located about 30 miles northeast of Columbia, just east of I-77. The lake is owned and managed by Duke Power and is surrounded by three counties: Fairfield, Kershaw, and Lancaster. One of South Carolina's oldest man-made lakes, Lake Wateree is known for crappie, bass, catfish, and bream fishing.
