Beautiful hills to camp on and watch an unobstructed view of the Carolina sunset and sunrise that peak through wooded acreage. The campsite was gorgeous and felt very private. The land is beautiful and my hosts were so helpful and gracious. The only piece of information folks might need is that an off-leash dog roamed from a nearby property and sniffed around the campsite on multiple days. Every time I saw the dog in advance, and there were no incidents with my pets as a. I interacted with the dog who was very sweet but I did not feel comfortable introducing my dogs to these dogs just in case. My hosts communicated with me about the issue and did their best to offer solutions. I don't think this would be a showstopper for people without pets at all, and not necessarily even for those with them as long as you are careful.

This was exactly what we were looking for when searching for our daughter’s first camping trip. The owners were so nice and hospitable and the property grounds are just beautiful. The trails throughout the woods light up at night which made my daughter smile for hours on end. She especially loved the rope swing and visiting the horses!. Don’t skip this spot in your search. We loved hammock camping here! There were enough space for us to comfortably fit two hammocks and a tent. The fire pit was elevated which was really convenient for cooking. There were also pretty walking trails that were decorated for Halloween (we went in October). Would definitely come again!

Michael is such a kind and generous host! The cabin is a hoot and has everything you could need (including serious hot water). I felt quite safe and very comfortable.

The fire ring setting is beautifully laid out with a very private feel. There are good flat camping areas nearby and the hosts were quick to respond and very helpful. Would definitely stay again!

2 nights at Lakeshore Family Campground

Quiet, small compound for no more than 6 campers. You are on top of a hill from which you can glimpse the lake. Walk down the well maintained path and onto the dock and the view of the lake opens up. I enjoyed bird watching and star gazing while I was there. I plan to return.
