Weekend Trip to Lakeshore Family Campground

Very well kept campground, peaceful part of the lake. Neighbors behind us were loud until 11:40 pm, right outside our bedroom window, but that wasn’t the host’s fault at all. Besides that, it was amazing! I’d definitely come back.

We absolutely loved our stay. The park is in immaculate shape. As tent campers, It was wonderful having access to the shower house and bathroom. We would definitely stay here again if we’re in the area.

1 night at Private Oasis In The Forest

We loved it! Amazing spot for our dog to roam, lovely but short trail around the lake, a little row boat we didn't use but would have been a fun little adventure - we set our tent up inside because the windows are wide open so just to keep bugs off us though we didn't notice many the night we were there - great experience especially for the price! We were tenting and it was calling for a thunderstorm and we couldn't have asked for a better spot to watch watch the rain come down and listen to it on the tin roof!

Weekend Trip to The Goodson Forest Estate

Great location with an easy jaunt into town and easy drive to Congaree National Park. There were 2 other RVs on the property however we did not see a soul. Parking on grass and mostly level but the dirt path to get into your spot was a bit rough..can’t imagine if it had rained. Hookups were convenient although we didn’t use them. No other amentities on the property so it was kind of pricey for what you got. I was happy paying for the convenience of getting to Congaree. Property is situated on corner of a busy intersection (for being out of town) so constant road noise and fire station nearby so sirens can wake ya up in the middle of the night. Host had good communication through the booking process. Allowed us to stay in 40’ although online says max is 35’.

We appreciate how close it was to Conagree National Park. The site was full hookup with electric, water, and sewage dump. We can see he is trying to improve the site with newly planted trees as a wind and sound break. Host was friendly and responsive!

Absolutely Amazing Hosts, they check in with you at the start and then leave you too it. Incredible sunrises over the site, good facilities. Women I was with kept insisting the compost toilet was fantastic. Brilliant spot for relaxed fishing out the stocked pond.

We loved camping here! It was a beautiful spot!! As soon as we pulled in an osprey dove down to try to get a fish! 3 sets of mallards waddled over & spent some time there. We got to meet their friendly dogs also. It was very peaceful & beautiful! Dargan checked in with us when she got home from work, which was very nice. And both my husband & I were amazed at how clean and non-smelly the outhouse was! Best system ever!

Weekend Trip to Norman Farms

The location is perfect! It's beautiful and feels very secluded and "away from it all", while not actually being in the middle of nowhere. It's close enough to various stores and the highway should you need supplies or whatever, but on the property you can kinda forget the outside world for a little while. And the hosts are awesome! They are gracious and friendly. A+++ 10/10 I highly recommend.

2 nights at Camping on Pipers Pond

This was our first time using Hipcamp and now I’m a little worried it ruined Hipcamp for us since this was such a wonderful experience. We camped here since it was only about 20 minutes from Congaree National Park and seemed nicer than the Congaree campground. Dargan, her husband, and their two dogs Piper and Pearl are very pleasant and their property is incredible. Piper’s Pond is a beautiful wildlife pond that they created that we had the pleasure to camp next to. We enjoyed seeing the fish and ducks feed from their feeders and watching the large variety of birds around the pond. Piper and Pearl would come keep us company, and they’re great, well-behaved dogs, and Dargan is very accommodating if one wouldn’t want them around. The campsite itself is excellent, with wonderful seating and firepits, and the outhouse is clean and has everything one needs. Overall, we were super happy we found this place, and would definitely return!

James was very accommodating around my plans to arrive changing multiple times due to distance, crazy weather and other delays. The camp sites are very well kept up, very tidy. James delivered hardwood to my site while I was away and included some pine for starting the fire. I look forward to checking out Big Creek RV Park when I’m in the Greenville SC area again. 5 stars!

This was one of the best experiences I've had with camping. My partner and I stayed for 2 nights (ended up leaving early cause of some storms that were going to come through the morning of the last day). The location was quiet and very private. The owners respected our alone time. When we did need to reach out, response time was very prompt. I loved that they were willing to supply us with firewood. Fishing was really fun! There were plenty of fish to catch. I love the dogs and the ducks. Seeing all the wildlife was amazing. I can't wait to come back. Hearing about how the pond came to be was an interesting story. I felt very safe and welcomed here.

Dargan’s campsite was beautiful! Her and her husband were so sweet and caring! Dargan noticed a gushing sound in their water the one morning and was concerned that the hose they supplied to us was leaking and turns out it was. They fixed even before we knew something was wrong. The best part was the puppy visitors who were a delight! Would highly recommend this site to anyone!

We love camping, but we had never camped at a Hipcamp until we stayed at Piper’s Pond. Everything was perfect! The host was kind, the pond was lovely, the composting toilet was very clean, and the fire pit and firewood made everything so convenient. Our kids loved paddling out in the pond, and one of them can’t stop talking about Pearl, one of the dogs. This was a wonderful place to stay while visiting Congaree National Park.

This spot totally blew us away. Seriously, the vibes were immaculate. And those fresh eggs? Don't even get me started. So good, like sunshine on a plate. We're already planning our next visit. This place is a hidden gem, for sure. Can't wait to go back and soak it all in again. It's the kind of place that just makes you happy.

Learn more about this land: Watch the sun and moon rise over the pond from the grassy knoll in the edge of the woods or under the trees. Enjoy paddling around the pond, fishing and watching the ducks and geese during the day and relaxing around the fire pit at night. We offer 2 campsites on the pond on our private property. They are both slightly sloped. Site 1 is on the grassy knoll overlooking the pond. It is sunny early in the day and gets shady as the day progresses. It is closer to the outhouse. Site 2 is under the trees and right beside the pond. It gets spotty sun throughout the day. We live through the woods past the campsites. An outhouse with composting toilet, potable water, picnic table, grill, fire pit, fire wood and trash can are provided. Please note that we do not offer a 30 amp camper hookup, only a 15 amp electrical cord running from our house that will run lights, but not a/c or heat.

Waxhaw Country at its best! Very secluded 16 acres that is sparsely wooded with mostly old hard woods. Very peaceful and quiet in Waxhaw, NC with farm animals to watch during your stay. We have goats, cows, mini donkeys, dogs, cats and a pony. We have bottle babies several times a year and offer feeding times. We are also starting to offer day trips for those who wish not to camp overnight. Message for more details on anything. Should have babies through September 2023 possibly longer we are waiting on more to be born. This is a special place, a happy place and our Haven. It’s not really a camp ground It’s an actual working farm. We have animals of all ages here. We Have goats, cows, donkeys, dogs, cats and a pony. You get to come and tent camp in the woods or be right beside our hay barn next to cows and goats. Walking to the bath/club house you can pet a cow or goat or two on the way. We almost always have some baby animals. And you can come cuddle them. And hike in the woods. Sit by a campfire or just plain have some peace and quiet. Yes we are pet friendly. Seeing, watching and petting the animals is free to all our campers. But they are so many extras so much to do free or a small fee. All campers have use of the bath/club house at no charge. You can shower and rest in the ac/heat. Also we have a tv and dvd player. Free to use by all campers We very much hope you will come join us on the farm! So much to do. Walk the 16 acres, sit and watch the farm animals. We having sitting areas around the outside of the pastures so you can sit and enjoy. You may pet the animals too. Just watch those fingers. We have a lot of youngsters here. And please never feed them. Nutrition is a big thing on the farm. All these are included in your campsites no extra charge. We do have extras you can purchase to do. But the above things are just for you to enjoy. Also take a moment and look at the Hipcamp website on a browser. App doesn’t always let you know what we are doing and what we are up to. Owners are empty nesters that raised their family here for over 25 years. The owners are also artist and crafters. The art is available to be viewed and purchased. We also offer craft classes for all ages from preschool to adults of all ages and the fee depends on the craft. The property is very near Cane Creek Park daily use for the public and a short 2 minute drive to the main entrance of Cane Creek Park. That's where the biking, hiking, walking, fishing and boating can be done. yes there is room for your boat to be parked at the site. Google Cane Creek Park Union County NC for information on the Park. Yes you can walk to the park as well just a little longer than driving. You can eat your meals and watch deer and rabbits among other wildlife visitors and you can view the farm animals from your camp sites as well. Whether it is for just one person or and couple or a family with children or older parents there is room for everyone. Our RV campsite is cleared and flat area already at the barn that has an RV hook up, electric only. You just dry camp (no sewer or water hook ups). Wheelchairs can be used around the Barnside RV site. There is room for a tent or another small camper with the RV site but will require an extra fee. This campsite we are working to make more private you can see a neighbors house on the backside only but we are working on a live privacy fence just going to take a little time for everything to grow. the neighbors are very quiet and keep to themselves. you will here the animals more than the neighbors. The bathroom is a short walk to the bath house and kitchen but a beautiful little walk and you see wildlife and the farm animals on your way. This is a spot you can come and hide if you want to. If you just want to get away and not be bothered this is the space for you. There is a bath house with toilet and shower free to campers. Also a kitchen available this extra does have a small fee to cover propane, water and electricity. There is a stove, frig, sink a place to sit for a couple of people to sit and eat. This is free to all campers. Please bring your own food, soaps, toiletries and towels. The bathroom and kitchen are an apartment over a detached garage so there is a flight of stairs no wheel chair access. We have farm animal adventures available as well. You can brush a goat, cow, donkey or pony. We also have a Farm Hand Experience check out the extras. No riding available just brush or pet these animals. Also a few times a year we have bottle babies that can be scheduled for our campers to feed them a bottle and play with them. Bottle feeding is not available year round so please ask ahead of time if we have them. We have rules that are a must to do these adventures. We will let you know ahead time if you schedule an animal adventure. Truly is a sanctuary here but you can easily commute to Charlotte Metro Area anywhere in Union and Lancaster County or surrounding areas. You can bring your boat plenty of parking here at the farm and many nice lakes around to fish or play. There is water at the property we just do not have it available to hook up to RV’s currently. So bring your water cubes and we can fill them for you. You can pitch a tent or bring an RV for this camping site. We are making more improvements every week. More campsites coming. We have fire pits. Yes pets welcome on leash or can run in designated areas. We are now offering day trips, farm hand experiences, romantic campfires, small group get together aka party. You do have to book on hipcamp as the Farm Day Trip and choose your Extras for your activities. No you do not have to camp over night. But for a day trip you must book here on hipcamp. We are 30 miles from Columbia, SC, our state capital. Learn more about this land: We are a working farm of grass-fed beef, free-range laying hens and ducks, seasonal vegetables; fruits, honey hives, goats, donkeys and horses. We are surrounded by families who have lived on their land for many generations. No subdivisions. Great place to star gaze without street lights. We have 2 sites with water and electricity for camping. Our large barn has a full kitchen, full bath and den area for campers to share. Yet, we are just a few miles from 2 boat ramps on Lake Murray which offers fishing and boating. Also, we are just 30 miles from metropolitan Columbia, historic Newberry, and 15 miles from the town of Lexington, SC. The Capital City of Columbia, just 30 miles east, offers Riverbanks Zoo, Richland County’s Congaree National Park, Saluda Shoals Park, EdVenture Children’s Museum. The Newberry Opera House is 36 miles away and The Big Mo Drive-in Theatre is in Monetta, 13 miles. Indian Trail Public Golf Course is 15 miles in Leesville. Or just hang out at the farm, view the animals, or fish in our pond. We have stalls available for equestrian travelers and a trail around the property to walk or ride your horse. Pets must be on lease or voice control and poop scooping is not an option. No WiFi yet.
