1 night at Glamping with the Wild Horses

We were traveling in New England and decided to try this cool glamping site instead of booking an ordinary hotel. It was a great choice. We stayed in a geodesic dome complete with two real beds, woodstove, dresser, small table with chairs, and a nice leather sofa overlooking the woods. The pictures of the interior are accurate, and there was also a power bank for charging our phones. The dome is one of three clustered close together with a shared fire pit, on the grounds of an equestrian facility for rescued mustangs that was really cool. We got to watch the horses eat and play, as their feeding station was only about 20 yards from the domes. The woods surrounding the campsite are beautiful and largely untouched. There are several trails worth exploring, one of which leads to a giant dome used for large groups and yoga. Keep in mind that this is a rural area and cell phone reception is not good near the domes (Verizon), and at the time there was no wireless near the campsite, so plan accordingly. Both calls and texts were spotty and often took several minutes to go through. Facetime did not work. Internet browsing was not possible. The other cell phone providers may work fine...we had Verizon and it did not. Other than that, it was a fun stay, for a good cause, and I would recommend.

Weekend Trip to Two Herons Farm

We had a lovely time at Molly and Diego's farm! The camper was very cute and cosy and provided all of the amenities we needed. Molly and Diego were very kind and friendly and checked on us after we arrived. The surrounding property was idyllic with the farms animals, bunnies and cats roaming around and coming to investigate us. The camper area felt private and the string lights were a nice touch while we enjoyed some drinks by the fire and listened to the animals settling in for the night. It was a perfect launch point to the Airline State Park Trail nearby, we would absolutely come and stay again!

Weekend Trip to Glamping with the Wild Horses

Words can’t express the hospitality and love when staying here at Wild Ride! Kenzie and her husband were genuine, easy going, and sooo knowledgeable about all of their rescue horses! Kenzie trains them with a flawless method filled with intuition and true love for her horses! The accommodations were fantastic! I felt like I was in the woods at a cozy retreat in the Netherlands! We stayed on the coldest night of the year (temps in the teens) My only suggestions is bring a really warm sleeping bag bc the dome doesn’t keep the heat for very long. Highly recommend this establishment and i’ll def be back with friends in the future!

Fall asleep under the magnificent brilliance of the millions of stars, hear nothing but the sound of crickets, croaking frogs, hooting owls; see fireflies light up the night and fall asleep to the sound of the streams running right alongside the property. Watch the ariel acrobatics of the swallows swoop into the barn to feed their chicks! The two streams feed into the huge Natchaug River right across the street which is great for fishing, or spending the day at Diana's pool basking on the rocks with a picnic lunch. The area and property is perfect for hiking, horseback riding, small retreats, family gatherings all the while enjoying nature at its purest. We offer a Weber grill and large fire pit and outdoor picnic table with umbrella. You can either sleep in the barn, down in the clean stalls, or up in the barn loft. Bring supplies as if you are camping ie bedding, hammock, tent, sleeping pad or inflatable mattress. There is a long wooden table up in the barn loft that seats 14. There are games up there too, (dominos, cards, trivial pursuit etc). You may also camp outside under the starry skies. No loud music. Noise off by 10.30pm please We provide a VERY clean porta potty and the barn has electricity and running (cold) water. Bring a solar portable shower should you need.
