Our driveway is located about 3 miles from the start of the Boston Marathon, 8 minutes from 495, but, down a country road. We find our property to be quite peaceful. We do have crickets and frogs to lull you to sleep and early birds to greet you in the morning. Keep an eye out for turtles!
We are a few hundred yards from either Upton State Forest or Lake Whitehall. Lake Whitehall is popular with boaters (speed limit enforced) and is stocked with fish. No swimming. There is a public boat ramp on the other side of the lake. We often put in our kayaks at the entrance close to our house. We hike, mountain bike and picnic in these parks. It's really beautiful. There is a 24-hour grocery store 2 miles down the road.
The gravel campsite is located at the barn end of our driveway in front of the red barn. There is a little privacy from the house, but, we may need to get into the barn from time to time. We have a 30amp and water hookup at the barn. If planning on using electric please add one "electric hookup" extra to each night of your stay BEFORE finishing the request to book, it's really difficult to add it after. Please plan to bring 50' of hose and/or 25ft of electrical cord if using hookups. There is wifi, BUT, it's pretty weak at the barn. Definitely not strong enough for streaming! Our Ibex camper may or may not be parked next to the barn depending on if we are out camping! We do not accept car campers.
Turtle Path also has a Guest Suite. Find us on that other website! Shortly after we moved in we discovered a large snapping turtle on his way from Lake Whitehall to the creek at the back of our property. Our neighbor told us that's the turtle's usual route. Turtle won our hearts that day.

Come and enjoy a quiet retreat, or use Fernwood as a base for many outdoor activities-biking, fishing, hiking-all nearby. Natchaug Forest offers great trout fishing. Goodwin State Forest is less than 3 miles away by car where you can put in a canoe on Pine Lake, amble through the wildflower and pollinator gardens, or enjoy the Education Center and Museum. Anne and Brett's site is the perfect spot to be off the beaten path but still close enough to the main drag. There were two of us and our two labs, they loved the giant field! We grabbed breakfast sandwiches at Mimis down the road before exploring the beautiful and quiet Quabbin Reservoir. We had full cell service too(Verizon.) Their camp offers solitude(except for a surprise visit from their beautiful pups!) you look for in a camp, all you can hear is bird song and the occasional horse whinny. Down the road is a bakery, pizza house, package store and Cumberland Farms. The owners were very quick to respond to our messages and said to let them know if there was anything we needed. The site itself is very clean with fire ring, firewood, picnic table and a very spacious. Book it today, you won't regret it, we will be back!

The people are what makes the Hip Camp experience great, and Rob came through in spades! Had a late-minute reservation as I made my way through the area, and as soon as it was done, Rob hit me up to offer some pointers, directions, and made me feel right at home. Though it was a cold, rainy (and snowy!) spring day in MA, the sites were easy to find. Lovely little base of operations to explore the area. I have a Tacoma truck camper, so it was easy to pick where I wanted to set up and get out of the cold. It is a hilly area, which is part of the charm and beauty, so make sure you have your leveling blocks / system. Would I recommend Rob's place? Yes! Is Rob a rock star and a tribute to the Hip Camp community? No doubt!

What a wonderful little spot! Tucked away above a field you have an amazing view with the mountains and a space all to yourself. It’s quiet and secluded for those looking for some calm or privacy. The land hosts are great communicators and really offer something special here. The site is simple, spacious and clean. Definitely don’t overlook this site, I’ll surely be coming back!

We ended up getting stuck up north this winter and needed a place to stay in the RV. This ended up being a great safe spot to do so and on the good winter days we were able to visit the nearby beaches, especially Horseneck which is our favorite. We always felt safe and had enough privacy to be on our own. We were able to hook up our 30 amp plug to the side of the garage.
Winter 2026 was a rough one which saw two major snowstorms. Our vehicle always felt well protected.
Our host Tristan was always available when we needed to reach out via the Hipcamp app.
I can only imagine how nice this must be during the warm months. If you do stay, you’ll be able to visit many different beaches on a regular basis as there are so many close to the spot.
Tiverton is safe, clean and nice.

This piece of property has become one of if not the best spot to rustic camp. I’ve camped here many times and will continue to as long as it’s offered. Don’t come here unless you want a natural setting, beautiful landscapes and a peaceful atmosphere. Hosts are lightning fast with any questions you may have.
