The campsite areas and facilities are about 8 out of 43 acres of all the private property of rainforest, flowers, palm trees, and various fruit trees.
The Sabana River, one of many that originate from El Yunque National Rainforest, the river goes through the property. All the campsites are close by the river with each having their own access and individual fire pits.

This is a rural and country property, surrounded by nature and creeks, with direct access to Cidra Lake. Drive carefully, but all vehicles can get access without problems. Vehicles like a Toyota Camry, an SUV, or a 4x4.

Use only Google Maps to drive to the property; you can get lost if you use other apps like Apple Maps. Remember this is a rural area with just a few traffic lights; we highly recommend arriving early the 1st time to get familiarized with the area.Wi-Fi: There is no Wi-Fi signal in Grandpa's house, but if you need to use it, you can access the Wi-Fi service close to the main house.You will be in the middle of 5 acres of land, in total contact with nature and in an emblematic property from the 50's. In simple words: there are no screens on the windows, and you sleep with a mosquito net. Insects are a vital part of the flora and fauna, and you can see a wide variety of them in the surroundings, from lizards to fireflies. In the same way, and despite the fact that we have an exterminator visit every 2 weeks, sometimes they can be inside the grandfather's house. A real, genuine, and magical experience.For those not familiar with the local driving conditions, it's advisable to approach the journey with a sense of adventure and patience. The roads, while providing an authentic experience of the country's topography, may require a bit of adaptability from drivers more accustomed to city driving.Compact vehicles are more than capable of reaching our hidden oasis. The key is to drive safely, taking your time to navigate any twists, bumpy roads, and turns with care. Use only Google Maps to drive to the property; you can get lost if you use other apps like Apple Maps. Remember this is a rural area with just a few traffic lights; we highly recommend arriving early the 1st time to get familiarized with the area.Wi-Fi: There is no Wi-Fi signal in Grandpa's house, but if you need to use it, you can access the Wi-Fi service close to the main house.You will be in the middle of 5 acres of land, in total contact with nature and in an emblematic property from the 50's. In simple words: there are no screens on the windows, and you sleep with a mosquito net. Insects are a vital part of the flora and fauna, and you can see a wide variety of them in the surroundings, from lizards to fireflies. In the same way, and despite the fact that we have an exterminator visit every 2 weeks, sometimes they can be inside the grandfather's house. A real, genuine, and magical experience.For those not familiar with the local driving conditions, it's advisable to approach the journey with a sense of adventure and patience. The roads, while providing an authentic experience of the country's topography, may require a bit of adaptability from drivers more accustomed to city driving.Compact vehicles are more than capable of reaching our hidden oasis. Greetings!Suenos del Mar is a small tropical farmstead. We plant trees and tend bees. In 2017 hurricane Maria raged through the island and damaged much of the property. We are still recovering but the trees are coming back and we continue to replant. We welcome you to pick some fruit in season. There are many exotic fruit trees, such as pomegranates, guava, mango, guama, nespero, lime, starfruit, and more, Over the years many volunteers have helped to create a welcoming environment. There is a hand-built stone bathroom, a grape arbor and large table where the socializing goes on. Sometimes we offer yoga and meditation and ceremonies. Recently a fire dancer performed for a full moon gathering held there. It is a special place and we welcome you to experience the out-of-doors in a safe and beautiful environment.Enjoy your stay with us!

Maria, Chao, and Rebel are exceptional hosts who provide a range of guest-centeted accommodations and experiences. My time there was filled with nature (energy of Rio Plata headwaters, singing birds, congenial farm animals, and the dancing lights of cucubanos), along with hosts' generous hospitality. I was given a clear orientation to my riverfront campsite with a stove, cooler, kitchenware, and covered shelter for my small tent. Shared meals, dominos, and enlightening conversations were memorable and as available nowhere else. What a gift and blessing to stay there!

The room was clean, inviting, comfortable and had everything I needed to enjoy my time there. The hot tub and wrap around porch were my favorite places to take in the amazing sounds of nature. It rained most of my stay and the view & sounds from the porch allowed me to enjoy the rain.
This was by far the best place I’ve stayed on the island and I will be back.
Gigi & Sebastian are kind and caring, they provided me with a lovely breakfast each morning and even helped me with my bags on the day of check out.
So glad I found this gem on Hipcamp!

a convenient kitchen, very clean bath, and spacious covered decks. His directions were precise and helpful. I felt welcome and comfortable. Communication was excellent throughout my stay including recommendations for local restaurants (Meraki) and local places of interest (Toro Negro).

First, you couldn’t find a more kind, considerate and generous host. Immediately upon checking in Keishya gave me a warm welcome and had some fresh fruits and water for me. She thinks of all the little things. Keishya’s place was perfect for me, and just one block to the beach. My bed sheets were so soft, my bathroom very clean, and overall very comfortable.

Maria was a great host, the riverside campsite and outdoor bathroom was great! Be aware that the place lives up to its name, but that lends to its charm. The jungle trail to the waterfalls on their property was a perfect length hike with a nice reward at the end (~1 mile round trip). Would definitely go back.

I recently moved to Puerto Rico from Maryland where I was an avid camper for years. I was excited to find Gerardo's camp grounds! My first camping trip in Puerto was AMAZING!
In my excitement I set up at wrong site and had to relocate to another site. I went from one beautiful site to a more beautiful site!
The facility was well maintained and clean. Gerardo was prompt and helpful. I cant wait until my next visit.

This place enchants the heart, by simply surrendering to the magic landscape visuals and sounds all around and within this site. You hear nothing but purity on this marvelous site, from the sounds of 5 species of coqui frogs and so many native birds from local endemics to native resident birds and migratory passerines and birds of pray. I grew up in PR and explored the island thoroughly for nearly 30 years and I had never been on a place where I heard seven to eight pairs of PR screech owls joyfully chanting all at once from all around. A relatively short hike within the property takes you into another realm down by the river where isolation is bliss. A night hike through the property trees brought me so much wonder from hundreds of fireflies and the night orchestra from owls, coquies and so many insect sounds.
