Other things to note
Use only Google Maps to drive to the property; you can get lost if you use other apps like Apple Maps. Remember this is a rural area with just a few traffic lights; we highly recommend arriving early the 1st time to get familiarized with the area.Wi-Fi: There is no Wi-Fi signal in Grandpa's house, but if you need to use it, you can access the Wi-Fi service close to the main house.You will be in the middle of 5 acres of land, in total contact with nature and in an emblematic property from the 50's. In simple words: there are no screens on the windows, and you sleep with a mosquito net. Insects are a vital part of the flora and fauna, and you can see a wide variety of them in the surroundings, from lizards to fireflies. In the same way, and despite the fact that we have an exterminator visit every 2 weeks, sometimes they can be inside the grandfather's house. A real, genuine, and magical experience.For those not familiar with the local driving conditions, it's advisable to approach the journey with a sense of adventure and patience. The roads, while providing an authentic experience of the country's topography, may require a bit of adaptability from drivers more accustomed to city driving.Compact vehicles are more than capable of reaching our hidden oasis. The key is to drive safely, taking your time to navigate any twists, bumpy roads, and turns with care. This is a rural and country property, surrounded by nature and creeks, with direct access to Cidra Lake. Drive carefully, but all vehicles can get access without problems. Vehicles like a Toyota Camry, an SUV, or a 4x4.
Other things to note
Use only Google Maps to drive to the property; you can get lost if you use other apps like Apple Maps. Remember this is a rural area with just a few traffic lights; we highly recommend arriving early the 1st time to get familiarized with the area.Wi-Fi: There is no Wi-Fi signal in Grandpa's house, but if you need to use it, you can access the Wi-Fi service close to the main house.You will be in the middle of 5 acres of land, in total contact with nature and in an emblematic property from the 50's. In simple words: there are no screens on the windows, and you sleep with a mosquito net. Insects are a vital part of the flora and fauna, and you can see a wide variety of them in the surroundings, from lizards to fireflies. In the same way, and despite the fact that we have an exterminator visit every 2 weeks, sometimes they can be inside the grandfather's house. A real, genuine, and magical experience.For those not familiar with the local driving conditions, it's advisable to approach the journey with a sense of adventure and patience. The roads, while providing an authentic experience of the country's topography, may require a bit of adaptability from drivers more accustomed to city driving.Compact vehicles are more than capable of reaching our hidden oasis. The key is to drive safely, taking your time to navigate any twists, bumpy roads, and turns with care. Weekend Trip to Barefoot Travelers Rooms Guesthouse
We loved our stay with Keishya and Bob! They share their beautiful house in a beautiful location with a personal welcome, then privacy and freedom. Within walking distance is a nature reserve, and several restaurants as well as a beach. My partner and I also took some time to relax by their pool and love on their dog! We would both love to come back some day.

7 nights at Barefoot Travelers Rooms Guesthouse
Keishya's guest house is so lovely! We stayed there for a week and it was clean, very comfortable and so relaxing. Keishya is very communicative and mindful of your needs during the stay. She provides towels, soap, and other basic needs. The town where the guest house is, Humacao, is mostly a local spot with many seafood and other types of restaurants very close. A couple places are within walking distance even. The guesthouse is located in a gated community so the beach is private and very nice. Palm trees offer spots of shade during the day. We brought our travel hammock which I would highly recommend. While we were there, there was a wind advisory so the beach was fairly choppy for our baby but still very swimmable for us! There are three rooms that are shared by a common kitchen. The bigger room offers a private bathroom and the two other rooms share a bathroom. We stayed in the bigger room with our 17 month old. There was enough space to put a pack n' play crib in the big room but not the smaller two rooms unless you moved the beds and furniture around perhaps. The kitchen is great and has all the basics you need. The nature preserve is walkable from the property and provides a lovely place for bird watching and nature strolling. There is a great overlook spot and a pretty lagoon. We loved it here and would highly recommend!

Camp Arabuko-Rancho Pavilion is beautiful and Zach and Mariah are the most gracious of hosts. It's a real camping experience in the beautiful lush rainforest!!! Swimming holes, caves and springs abound. They are actively restoring the landscape with native plantings and have many rescue animals including a very friendly cat named Indy Cat who came to hang out with us in the rancho at night. Zach and Mariah were so generous with their time and showed us around the property and farm. We very much enjoyed our visit and highly recommend it to anyone looking for adventure as well as peace and

Carrie and I had a wonderful time!!! Mariah and Zach are beautiful people, and have put together a masterpiece the blends real camping with a touch of the right amount of accomodations.
Waking up to the river flowing and the birds chirping. The animals on the grounds, the bonfires and being around awesome people made me forget all about the world. The trails, river walking, swimming holes, hiking, and trails was awesome to explore.
Just a little drive and we can visit just about anywhere we wanted to go. The perfect all around balance to everything we needed to recharge the batteries.
We love this place and will absolutely be returning sooner rather than later.
