Ready to explore Presque Isle State Park? The 13 sandy swimming beaches and 21 miles of trails are a great start. You can also gawk at the pristine shoreline from Peninsula Drive—keep an eye out for the historic lighthouses. Canoeing, biking, inline skating, and hiking are a few other ways to see the park.

The park itself offers no camping since it's day use only. Luckily, the region boasts tons of private RV parks with full hook-ups and campgrounds with tent camping around Erie and Fairview. Fire rings, picnic tables, and even Wi-Fi are a few amenities to enjoy.

Once you've found your home base, discover the calm waters of Presque Isle Bay. The state park's 500-slip marina is ground zero for water skiing, wakeboarding or just cruising while ospreys fly overhead. Trout, muskie, and walleye fishing is also big here, so don't forget your tackle.

For viewing local wildlife, head to Gull Point Natural Area. Situated on the far end of Presque Isle, it's been named one of the best birding spots in the United States. You definitely want to bring your camera and binoculars.

Keep in mind Presque Isle isn't the only park in the area. Just 12 miles west of Erie, you come to Erie Bluffs State Park. Stop here to explore 5+ miles of trails and take in fantastic views from a 90-foot bluff.

Every trail we walk, every plant we nurture, every bird we protect—it all begins with ecological respect and the belief that conservation is a lived relationship. The Land Perched atop massive 80-foot clay cliffs overlooking the warm, shallow waters of Lake Erie, our Foraging Farm is home to some of the most pristine shoreline left in Southern Ontario. From the sun-soaked sandy Private Beach below to the rare Carolinian forest above, Birdwell Bluffs is a sanctuary for humans and wildlife alike. Our soil is rich in natural clay, believed for generations to offer skin-soothing and detoxifying benefits. In summer, the lake warms to a silky embrace, perfect for swimming, floating, or simply watching the eagles circle overhead.

Compass Rose Campground is 49 acres of camping fun. You can choose to go deep into the woods for a maximum camping experience or stay closer to the modern amenities. A full kitchen is available as well as bathrooms with showers. No potable water is available. The pond was created and stocked in 2022. Bring your fishing poles and rafts!! Kayaks are available for campers also. There are many, many trails available for hiking including an enchanted fairy trail. Train lovers will especially welcome the distant sounds of the iron horse passing by. Numerous activities on-site and nearby including mountain biking, fishing, boating on Lake Erie, horseback riding, many, many wineries, antiquing, pottery shops, Panama Rock (28 min), Chautauqua Institute (25 min), Lillydale (35 min), Waldameer Amusement Park and Water World (40 min), Presque Isle (40 min), Casino (30 min) and much more. I had a great weekend of camping. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. The wood burning stove provided the perfect amount of warmth. I enjoyed the sounds of all the wildlife outside the doors. From the geese to the pack of howling coyotes, to all the farm animals in the area. Tim had the outside fire pit already set and the inside stove as well. He made sure we were stocked with more than enough wood for the weekend, and messaged me to make sure I still had enough wood. The outdoor porta potty was very clean and a very nice perk from our normal camping locations. It was also nice being able to let my dog run free all weekend. He enjoyed that very much. I highly recommend this site and will definitely be coming back here again!

We were warmly greeted by host with fire blazing in fire pit & woodstove! Plenty of firewood provided. Very appreciated on a cold evening in Nov! Beautiful site!!! Can’t say enough! Loved all of the lights, the pull down platform was great for our folding mattress, even a charging station for our phones, plenty of room for ourselves & our pups. The outhouse was convenient & clean. Felt very private. Highly recommend!

Spring Arbour bunkie was a magical experience for my husband and me. Although we were alone in the forest on our mid fall trip, we felt such a sense of peace cozied up in the glow of the wood stove. What a thrill to go up for a scenic ride in Erik’s ultra light two seater plane. We really lucked out finding this hipcamp. The instructions were excellent and the hosts very responsive.

Location and Accommodation: 4.5/5 The bunkie was great. Very cozy and comfortable. It was fantastic to have access both the forested area, and an open field for watching the sunset/sunrise or stars at night. Highly recommend this location in the fall when the leaves are changing. Close to Backus Woods, where I had a lovely hike as well. Host Communication: 1/5 I was given too much information. Bombarded with four different text walls of instructions, rules etc. all saying almost the same thing but slightly differently (or contradicting one another sometimes). The only personal communication (aside from several pre-written ones) I received from hosts was a message that said "Okay only if you need please ##########." This was in response to my request that we communicate by phone number once I leave my house since I do not have internet on my phone. Honestly, it made me feel like I was bothering them if I had questions while I was there - and I did end up having questions about how to safely operate the air intake on the woodstove but I just decided to keep it to myself. Value: 3.5/5 This place was awesome, but a touch expensive. After paying an extra $22 for firewood (necessary - it was close to 0C at night) and cleaning fees (I did all the cleaning because I was told to leave it better than I found it. There are not even sheets to change) it was 270 for 2 nights. At that rate, I expect to at least be welcomed by the hosts. Overall, would return (after trying other spots)

Easy check in. Beautiful property. I highly recommend this glamping experience to anyone. My friend and I split the Waggin Tails covered wagon and were blown away at how roomy and comfortable it was. The wood and easy start kindling that's provided was a lovely bonus. The coffee shop uses the most delicious beans. I made sure I bought a bag to bring home so my husband could taste them. I enjoyed myself so much that I bought a gift card as a Christmas gift for a family member so they can come experience this campground with their family.

We cant express how stunning this property is. The pictures simply don't do it any justice. Barry and his son were wonderful hosts during our stay. They provided plenty of fire wood and water. The bed was comfortable and the tent was cozy. They did offer a heater in case we were too cold at night but we were just fine. Waking up to the sounds of nature and the creek were incredible. Saw my first bald eagle in real life! We couldn't be happier. This site has now become a tradition for us. Cant wait to visit again

Our little family stayed in one of the tents this past weekend and upon our arrival we found a spacious tent with all the amenities for an outside gathering, outdoor cooking, comfortable sleeping arrangements, and a separate game room. We were so impressed with the cleanliness, aesthetics, and personal touches that were left by the owners. Some shout outs: * We were given a separate heated bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet, and a personalized touch of our family name on a sign outside the door * A gathering area or hang out after hours with a fire cauldron * A coffee shop with specious coffee and chai lattes and reasonably priced breakfast options * Pickleball for our kids * Very kind and gracious hosts We will absolutely be back and recommend this as a place to visit to our friends and family!

The Love Shack was super cozy and the hosts, Marilyn and Jim, were extremely welcoming and friendly. The Love Shack had everything we could possibly need, pretty much all we needed to do was pack our clothes and food. Upon arrival, we met with Marilyn and her fuzzy little friend, Maggie (she’s such a playful cutie). Marilyn shared with us some vegetables from her beautiful garden and also had a fireplace put it in for our stay (which we were extremely grateful for) as the place was getting a bit chillier now. And Jim lit us a lovely fire to enjoy in the night so we can keep warm while enjoying the quiet under the stars. Overall, the entire stay from beginning to end was amazing and we would absolutely be going again!

We had such a wonderful stay! The property is truly special, it accommodates a big group comfortably with plenty of space, and the outdoor kitchen is so well thought out and fully equipped. The cabin is cozy and has electricity, and the showers were spotless and easy to use. We loved the private hiking trail, picnic tables, and direct access to the beach, it made the experience feel peaceful and secluded. The hosts clearly put a lot of care into creating this space, and it shows in every detail. Jon was also responsive and warm. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing, nature-filled getaway.
