Chris Zielski and Alan Block are the wife and husband team that steward the farm. Chris is a metal artist and has a beautiful onsite studio for her business, Copper Leaf Studios. Alan is a sourdough baker, gardener, and fermenter. In addition to Hipcampers, Flannel Dog Farm hosts art shows, classes, and retreats.

There are snowmobile trail heads 5 miles from our location. Be in the country yet just 5 minutes from 4 local wineries and 10 minutes from dining/shopping. We do have a separate living space in our barn so only parking is shared. Originally 100 acres was purchased by the Deering family back in the 1800's from the Holland Land company. Then sometime near 1900 the farm was split between two brothers, each receiving 50 acres. The home was originally built in 1903 and is currently updated and remodeled for today’s codes and standards. 47 acres of accessible woods and pasture remain for hiking and at the top of the property a breath-taking view across Lake Erie into Ontario Canada.

For summertime it is just minutes to the Lake Erie shoreline and Dunkirk harbor for aquatic activities. In the Fall you cannot beat the canopy of colors. There are 4 wonderful wineries within 5 miles of your door, bring a bottle home and enjoy it by an outdoor campfire, or just sit on the patio and look up at the night sky. I had a great weekend of camping. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. The wood burning stove provided the perfect amount of warmth. I enjoyed the sounds of all the wildlife outside the doors. From the geese to the pack of howling coyotes, to all the farm animals in the area. Tim had the outside fire pit already set and the inside stove as well. He made sure we were stocked with more than enough wood for the weekend, and messaged me to make sure I still had enough wood. The outdoor porta potty was very clean and a very nice perk from our normal camping locations. It was also nice being able to let my dog run free all weekend. He enjoyed that very much. I highly recommend this site and will definitely be coming back here again!

We were warmly greeted by host with fire blazing in fire pit & woodstove! Plenty of firewood provided. Very appreciated on a cold evening in Nov! Beautiful site!!! Can’t say enough! Loved all of the lights, the pull down platform was great for our folding mattress, even a charging station for our phones, plenty of room for ourselves & our pups. The outhouse was convenient & clean. Felt very private. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Bison Trace Luxury Camping
Easy check in. Beautiful property. I highly recommend this glamping experience to anyone. My friend and I split the Waggin Tails covered wagon and were blown away at how roomy and comfortable it was. The wood and easy start kindling that's provided was a lovely bonus. The coffee shop uses the most delicious beans. I made sure I bought a bag to bring home so my husband could taste them. I enjoyed myself so much that I bought a gift card as a Christmas gift for a family member so they can come experience this campground with their family.

Weekend Trip to Elk Valley Creekside
We cant express how stunning this property is. The pictures simply don't do it any justice. Barry and his son were wonderful hosts during our stay. They provided plenty of fire wood and water. The bed was comfortable and the tent was cozy. They did offer a heater in case we were too cold at night but we were just fine. Waking up to the sounds of nature and the creek were incredible. Saw my first bald eagle in real life! We couldn't be happier. This site has now become a tradition for us. Cant wait to visit again

This place was a diamond in the rough! Can’t believe for the price all that is offered. I didint need any of the amenities but there is lots of it! Frig, microwave, Tv , etc and a comfortable recliner which I fell asleep in! The place was clean, smelled so woodsy and the area was safe for a single woman camper such as me! Directions are spot on and the area was near the road but not close enough for constant noise. The Outhouse had to be the cleanest I’ve ever seen one! So pleased to see that for sure. I did let the owner know the fire pits grate was gone so he definitely will fix that. I would just bring a grill grate or a pop up pit like I have and you’re ready to cook. It did rain while I was there but me and furbabies just cuddled up on the recliner and napped. Folks for the price and location you should check it out. I will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Bison Trace Luxury Camping
Our little family stayed in one of the tents this past weekend and upon our arrival we found a spacious tent with all the amenities for an outside gathering, outdoor cooking, comfortable sleeping arrangements, and a separate game room.
We were so impressed with the cleanliness, aesthetics, and personal touches that were left by the owners.
Some shout outs:
* We were given a separate heated bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet, and a personalized touch of our family name on a sign outside the door
* A gathering area or hang out after hours with a fire cauldron
* A coffee shop with specious coffee and chai lattes and reasonably priced breakfast options
* Pickleball for our kids
* Very kind and gracious hosts
We will absolutely be back and recommend this as a place to visit to our friends and family!

Weekend Trip to Cabin Off-Grid Camping
It sits back off the main road. He supplies the generator so you have electric in the cabin plus has outside lights. The Porta Potty was so clean. He gave us easy to understand directions on the codes and keys to use at the cabin. It was close to the different of Lake Erie. We will definitely be back next year. I highly recommend.

Our small family of two humans and a pup had a wonderful time at this cabin. We had never used a generator before, but it turned out to be much easier than expected, and Dan sent us a helpful YouTube link to guide us. The cabin is cozy and has everything we needed for a two-day stay. We loved the area and the two nearby towns.
The only downside is that we booked, thinking there would be water available. However, the outside water dispenser was empty and had algae buildup. We purchased some large water jugs from the dollar store, as the host recommended.
We were a bit unlucky with the dates since we booked it for the same weekend as the "Thunder on the Strip" Harley event, which happens once a year in the Geneva-by-the-Lake area. Besides the constant noise, we enjoyed checking out the bikes, and all the bikers were very friendly. Be aware that the cabin is next to a shooting range. They close in the evenings, but you can hear the shots during the day.

My dog and I had an amazing time camping on Barry’s land! We had everything we needed and Barry was thoughtful enough to bring us some spring water, which saved me from having to get in my car to restock! They also supplied us with plenty of dry wood for our campfire. The views were breathtaking! We had so much fun exploring the property and hiking through Elk Creek. We will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Cabin Off-Grid Camping
Cute little off grid cabin! Definitely a plus that a generator was included, so we could run some lights and a fan. The host, Dan, was extremely quick with responses and was willing to drive an hour out to us to fix a small problem that we encountered during our stay! The firepit was an added bonus that enjoyed using. Within driving distance of Geneva on the Lake’s strip, as well! We will definitely be returning!
