There are 3 campsites and one cabin located in the gap of the little Mahanoy Mountain and line Mountain range along the little Mahanoy creek. All four campsites have creek access and come with picnic table garbage can and fire ring and Firewood is usually available. There are two Porta potty‘s one located at each end of the sites. There are trails for hiking which extends along an abandoned railroad bed and also up into State game lands and into the deep woods. The hiking in the woods is on an incline. But the hiking on the railroad bed is pretty unintense. There is parking at each site. The sites are spread out along the creek bed ranging from more of a rustic primitive tent camping on site 4 to an open site on site 1.

The 66-acre property has been licensed as an airport (PS20) since the 1980s. It is currently an active, private airport. We don't sell fuel or offer services beyond camping so we primarily have only air traffic with few to no landings each year. In other words, it is very quiet here except during the occasional low pass. We are very eager for pilots to fly in and camp out! The beautiful sunsets and stargazing night skies are a real treat for anyone that comes to visit. Lots of deer, birds, and other wildlife can be seen out and about. Bring your telescope and binoculars to view all the property has to offer! Note that we are always working to improve our slice of heaven, thus we do have tools, vehicles, and equipment stored around the farm that if not used now will be one day. We appreciate your understanding that some areas are used for our personal / farm storage. If you're not into looking at our farmware, there are a few nearby campgrounds. The hot tub is located next to the owner's home. Guests are welcome to use this at any time but must reserve and pay for a time slot. * Book this through the Extras * We are within walking distance of Swatara State Park and close to the Appalachian Trail. Short drive to the local winery, bowling alley, pub/diner, and movie theater. Grocery stores and gas are also nearby. Miles of hiking, rail trail, single-track mountain biking, and kayaking are all right here! See our kayak and bike rentals under extras! Hershey Park is approximately a 30-minute drive from our location. Rausch Creek, Anthracite, and Reading off-road areas are also nearby. Note: Monthly rental discounts are available. Enjoy 8 beautiful, secluded acres on the Conewago Creek at Bald Hill, Northern York Co. My homestead was once part of the Conewago Turf Farm. It borders the creek a length of 1100 feet, mostly maintained with easy access. Camp is at the base of a steep section of the Conewago Mountains, creating privacy and protection from wind and afternoon sun. This is not a whole house rental. I have a one bedroom, queen size bed, kitchenette, private restroom and outdoor shower with on demand hot water. There's plenty of room for tent or van camping. Please see pictures for detail. I live in the house above the glamping quarters. Plenty of good fishing and paddling here. I offer shuttle service for 1 or 2 day float trips, paddle in one day, paddle out the next day. Canoes, kayaks, paddles and PFD's are included in the price of your stay. The Conewago is very beginner paddling but remote, very clean and full of wildlife. Gifford Pinchot State Park is 7 miles away. I have two paddle boards if you want to paddle the 3 mile lake. This adventure would require a short hike out to a parking area. Relax in a wood fired Norwegian sauna and cook in a Peruvian wood fired earth oven or cook under the stars over an open fire. Firewood is also included. Foodies will rejoice here. I live and work here, part time blacksmith and wood worker. I'll assist you in any way or do my best to stay out of your way. Wildlife love it here, I think you will too.

The history of the Pump House began in 1878, when three ambitious men hatched a plan for the world's first long-distance underground oil pipeline which would transport oil from well to refinery more quickly and efficiently than the horse-drawn wagons of the time. Pumping stations were needed every fifty miles along this long route to keep pressure on the pipeline so that the oil could reach its destination. Pump House Bed and Breakfast is one of the only properties in the country in which the both the original homes of the foremen and the large brick buildings remain. Doug, owner, has spent more than 20 years lovingly restoring these foreman houses as well as the large industrial brick buildings. The Brick Barn Hall once housed steam pumps to pressurize the pipe and keep the oil moving, and the Catawissa Cabin behind it served as the telegraph office. The Studio Hall contained boilers that produced the steam to power the pumps, while the adjoining Studio Cabin functioned as a blacksmith's workspace. Today, the buildings function as reception spaces for weddings and other special events, and house private suites as well as an art studio where Doug pursues his work and teaches drawing, ceramics, and stained glass classes. This was our first time camping in an RV & will not be our last!! Michelle and Rob were exceptional hosts!! We checked in late into the evening yet Michelle met us with a smile and warm welcome. During the weekend she made sure we were set up with linens, taught us how to make a fire and gave us yummy recommendations for Amish baked good in the area. We made friends with seasonal residents by the pool which led to a morning walk on a nature trail! The campground was clean and our RV was immaculate. We had great water pressure and A/C inside the cabin. We didn’t hear any road noise from passing trucks. Traveling to campgrounds around the country as black and latino guests, has not always been a pleasant experience yet here at Camp-A-while we truly felt welcomed and made to feel comfortable by many of the other guests! We can’t wait to come back! Thanks Michelle & Rob! Say hi to Fatboy, Kimmie & Lourie too!

Enjoyed a stay on Doug's land in the Frank Tiny House. Everything exactly as described and then some. Bed was super comfortable and little house was when stocked. Even had a mini fridge. Bathroom and shower house were clean and easy to find in the dark. Property offered secluded hikes and even had a map marked to see different trees and things. Loved the stay and would definitely do again for longer if in the area. Made an adorable little fury friend in the cat. He followed us around and even slept on the porch of the camp for part of the night!

New bridge just finished! Now access is a breeze for anyone! Even your four legged friends are welcome!

We absolutely love everything! The attention to detail is impeccable and the set up perfect. If you love to cook on an open fire the brick oven is so much fun! We used it to cook both of our dinners. Craig is an amazing knowledgeable host and has great stories to share about his life and property. Kayaks are available for free and the fishing was great. Pulled out 18 smallmouth bass in a span of 36 hrs! We can’t wait to be back in the fall

We loved staying at Craig’s river property. The back porch was a cool hangout spot, and the room and wash room were comfortable and clean. The house was easy to access and Craig was great at communicating with us. Craig is a cool guy! He and I took to the river and enjoyed a fun kayak trip the next morning while my wife and baby slept in. I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the pizza ovens and watch him work the blacksmith forge. I could easily imagine spending a few days on this site and paddling and hiking in the surrounding area, which has great access to trails and waterways. Stay with Craig!
