Just renovated for winter camping! Completely sealed up and draft free. Still a very primitive site, but the interior now keeps in the warmth from the fireplace. A set of bunk beds and a4 seat table as well as some could makes it work for up to 6 people. Plenty of tent area around of you have a bigger group! Sunnyday's farm and forest was a Christmas tree farm in the 1950's. I've owned it for the last 30 years and it is now a horse farm with pastures and woods. Rustic area of 25 acres of pastures and forest bordering a hundred of acres of railroad and municipal forest. Great for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking. 1.5 miles from Deer Lakes park which has fishing, hiking, mountain biking, frisbee course and a great playground. The Allegheny river, judged to be one of the cleanest in the country, is just 6 miles away. Harrison Hills park offers great hiking along the river and an occasional river otter. The Rachel Carson Trail and Baker trail are just a few miles away. It is a secluded log cabin in the woods on top of a hill overlooking a pasture. It is a very primitive cabin with a fireplace, brick floor, large porch, fabric interior and no chinking in the logs. We provide a bunk bed and cots and 2 picnic tables.. There is a large grassy area in front of the cabin for tents. There is no vehicle access, no electricity and no water at the cabin, but LOTS of downed wood for fires. There are horses, goats, chickens, ducks and a pig that roam the pastures. The cabin is about 300 yards from the parking area up a fairly steep hill, but the location is worth the walk! If you're stopping with an RV or trailer we have ample parking near the road and have overnight accommodations for horses Great place for a stopover.

Our property is close to Allegheny River access with a local boat ramp in Reesdale, and a fishing pier at Lock 8. From here, you can take the locks all the way to Pittsburgh. Several ATV trails have easy access because you can legally ride on the township roads! A lot of wildlife to see, including deer, bear, fox, coyote, several bird species, and bald eagles. We had a wonderful stay at this Hipcamp A-frame site—it's a peaceful, secluded property surrounded by trees and beautiful mountain views, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The host was very thoughtful and made sure we had everything we needed, including wood and fire starters so we didn’t have to run to the store. the Aframe is so cute and well-equipped with solar lights and tiny wood stove. The deck and yard are beautiful. I wish I'd had more time to enjoy. I hurt my back the night I arrived and could barely walk the next day. I ended up packing up and driving 3 hours home. Jim and Tracy were so understanding and even refunded my 2nd night. I hope to stay in the future

Weekend Trip to Tiny Home on the Hill

The property is great! There weren't leaves on the trees yet when we stayed in early April, but it still felt private and secluded which is really important to us. We loved having a metal roof over one of the fire pits which came in handy during our first night there and we were hit with a downpour. We enjoyed hearing the donkey in the distance, too. We spent the next day hiking at Allegheny National Forest (we really loved the Beaver Meadow Loop Trail) and our Australian shepherd loved it too. The cabin itself was super clean and the perfect amount of space for what we needed. The only drawback was the 1 single twin sized bed at the ground level. There are multiple beds upstairs, but the staircase to go upstairs is not safe for dogs, and dogs are not allowed upstairs (understandably so!). Our Aussie likes to snuggle with us and would certainly attempt to climb up to us, so we slept in the twin bed the first night. The second night, we split up and 1 person slept upstairs and the other person slept downstairs. It was not a big deal, and we probably should have thought about the sleeping arrangements ahead of time. Thank you for sharing your wonderful property with us! Happy Easter!

I stayed in the cabin at DLR Mustang Ranch for a weekend, and it was exactly what I needed. I came to catch up on homework for my doctoral program and to have some quiet space to recover after the loss of my mother. Jim and Tracy are great hosts. I spoke with Jim upon arrival, and he made sure I was okay. I stayed alone at the A-frame and felt completely safe. It’s listed as one acre, but it felt like I was in the middle of a huge property—very quiet, secluded, and peaceful. I loved my stay at this cabin, and I’ll definitely be back in the summertime. Weekend Trip to A-frame rustic cabin

Everything was set up perfectly has everthing you need. Lots of outdoor activities to do in the surrounding area. The hosts were great and very responsive. 10/10

2 nights at Tiny Home on the Hill

My girlfriend and I loved our stay here for our anniversary! The cabin was decently sized, pretty, very private, and had all the amenities. On the few days we stayed, it snowed pretty heavily and dropped to temperatures well below what was expected, but the pipes never froze, the heating was great, and hot water in the shower still worked. The cabin has lots of amenities including a nice stove, sink, fridge, and microwave. The host clearly stays there sometimes, as there was a lot of his stuff around. He provided dishes, silverware, and many toiletries among other things. The cabin has a nice firepit outside along with a pavilion that are a very nice place to share a campfire meal. Overall, we loved the place! The host was very kind and gave us some tips on how to make sure the pipes didn't freeze. The only negatives were: 1. The cleanliness of the place: While it was clear that the place had been tidied and there were no super gross parts, the owner missed several things, such as a Hershey bar wrapper, that were on the floor. 2. The driveway was very steep and gravel. With 4WD, we were able to drive on it with some snow, but without 4WD there is no chance we would have made it. Besides these small issues though, it was an idyllic place for a couple to relax and get some time away from the world!

1 night at A-frame rustic cabin

This little A-frame cabin was an absolute gem. From the moment we walked up the trail and saw the adorable rounded door, I knew we had found something special. The setting is incredibly peaceful, with beautiful views of the surrounding woods and the constant, relaxing sound of the creek flowing nearby. Birds were chirping throughout the day, and we even spotted deer tracks along the path to the cabin, which added to the sense of being immersed in nature. Inside, the cabin was cozy, clean, and thoughtfully organized when we arrived. It’s a compact space, but perfectly laid out with plenty of room for two people to relax comfortably. The solar-powered amenities all worked great, and the fan was especially helpful for keeping the air moving. When the temperature dropped at night, the small wood stove made the cabin warm and perfectly comfortable. Watching the fire glow through the stove window while the quiet of the forest settled around us made for a really special evening. It was also reassuring to see that the host had placed emergency equipment and safety items throughout the cabin. Everything felt well thought out and cared for. Overall, this place is charming, peaceful, and exactly the kind of retreat you hope for when escaping into nature. If you're looking for a quiet, cozy stay surrounded by the sounds of water and wildlife, this cabin is a wonderful choice.

Weekend Trip to A-frame rustic cabin

This was such a cozy little camping spot. I wanted to have just one night of quiet, no work, no setting up, just go be in the woods for a night, and this was perfect. It was pouring when we arrived and laying and taking a nap in the cabin listening to the rain was lovely. The string lights outside were such a nice touch when we woke up from our nap and sat outside for the evening. We will definitely be back! I was so pleasantly surprised that there was some power in the cabin. This felt like glamping to me and it was everything I needed and more.

I really enjoyed my stay here. I felt very welcomed, and the place reflects such a warm and peaceful vibe with the horses and the other animals. The environment is cozy and relaxing, and I truly enjoyed spending time walking in nature. What a beautiful stay! Renee welcomed me warmly and gave me an amazing tour of the horses. She is truly an amazing human being. As soon as you hear her speak about her mission of helping others, you believe in it immediately because she speaks from the heart. What a beautiful mission. I’m very glad that I stayed here. It was a wonderful and memorable experience.
