Hey y'all! As much as we would love to share our space with everyone, we cannot accommodate tent camping since we don't offer an outhouse. While here you'll get to watch the sunset behind the Cascades and stargaze into the night, at our high desert sanctuary. We have 2.5 acres surrounded by sage and rabbitbrush, bunchgrass and juniper trees. My partner and I live on the property along with our dog, cats and chickens. In addition, you will most likely witness cottontails, deer, and quail, as well as many bird species. At night, you may be lucky enough to be serenaded by local coyotes and owls. We are located atop a peninsula straddled by the Deschutes and Crooked river canyons, with access to golfing, hiking, biking, fishing, climbing and kayaking just minutes away! We are also a short 20 minute drive to Smith Rock , 35 minutes to Lake Billy Chinook, and 40 minutes from Bend or Sisters. There is a small trading post in the canyon with gas, limited groceries and made to order sandwiches. For dining, there is a local tap house with food trucks, and a restaurant and bar on the golf course. We offer water and 50 amp electric. If a fire ban is not in effect, we have a fire pit for your use. Enjoy your morning coffee in the sunshine at our bistro table, listening to the birds chirp. Please respect our privacy and do not enter the fenced yard. We are happy to provide information and recommendations on the area, but if you would prefer zero contact we can accommodate that as well! When available, we can offer split firewood, beer and fresh eggs for sale! Also, our home is located next to one neighbor to the south, the local fire station to the north, and 185 acres of rangeland to the west, on a paved road. My wife and I only stayed one night in the “glamping pod with gorgeous views at Red Cloud Ranch” and the description and pictures are exactly as described on their Hipcamp listing. It was very cozy with a small heater and all the bedding you need. Shannon provided great directions and met us when we arrived, she was super nice and helpful. The drive to the property is pretty magical on a clear day with easterly views of Mt. Hood and cute black cows dotting the sides of their road. It wasn’t a problem for us but worth noting that there is 3-4 mile gravel and dirt road leading up to the property. Also, at the time of this review, there was no shower which we were aware of. If we were staying more than one night glamping, a shower would be a great addition. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay would definitely come back if we were in the area again!

It’s very stress free, Amanda is a wonderful host and the place is quite frankly, stunning. I enjoy places of silence and few people, and this has both. Weekend Trip to Creek-side Retreat Handsfull Farm
This was an amazing experience!! Handsfull farm is a beautiful property that is so spacious but somehow feels so cozy and wonderful at there same time. my partner and I were planning some things to do around the area but ended up staying our full two days at the farm because there was so much to do. I felt so so welcome by everyone there. it's really clear that they really care about the guest experience.
The glamping spot by the creek is also super private, it feels like you have your own forest to explore. Pictures cannot do it justice! I can't wait to return!!

What a beautiful property! All the sites were really spread out and we had so much space to ourselves. Overall, it was very quiet and peaceful. We loved spending time at the river and the shared beach area and there were a lot of places to walk and explore.
I would recommend arriving in the daytime as this site isn't as well marked as some of the other sites. No picnic table or sign to really label it as a campsite. The bathroom is a bit further from this site as well if that is important to you.

Nice spot. We used it as a home base for rafting day trips on the Deschutes. About 20 minutes from Sandy Beach. Felt very private and a short walk across the road to hang by White River. Freshly cleaned porto potty. We would stay again.
Host warned us about yellow jackets and they were bad. Brought a trap to add to about 6 others already hanging and had to eat in screened in tent. Pretty typical in field like that in late summer in the area though.

Great site! Effortless check-in/check-out. Morning view of the canyon was priceless! Many farm animals on the property along with some guard dogs. Very close to Smith Rock!
Bring ear plugs if you don't want to hear the dogs barking through the night. Other than that, great stay!

The Horseshoe House was great. Eric and his partner were really friendly and gave me a tour around their farm where I get to meet all their critters. I mainly booked at the site because I was looking for a remote location to stargaze, and while the weather didn't totally agree with me on my trip, I was still able to take some great photos. I would definitely book again.

Perfect Camping Experience for three generations of family!! The clear driving directions dropped us into a hidden green paradise with fruit trees and a scenic pond. Welcomed by a large family of deer! Plenty of flat, green grass areas for tents, trailers, and lots of lawn games and the dogs had a fabulous time running free! The concrete pad of what used to be a home was the perfect gathering area for cooking, eating, and "fire" circles! Yellow jackets were pretty crazy during the day but disappeared at dusk, no fault of the land owners as it is just that time of year. Great separation from other sites with complete privacy, no view of other campers and great barriers for sound. Spectacular view all around left you feeling like you were the only people for miles. We had a neighborly visits from lizards, wild turkeys, squirrels, and a family of raccoons! They were all very well behaved but I would suggest storing food in a plastic bin as potato chips seem to be a favorite of theirs. Beautiful site for all ages and we will definitely be back again!

Great piece of property for camping! We loved that we were not close to other campers and had direct access to the river from our site. The port-a-potty was close by and very clean. The only downside was that there were a lot of bees which the camp owner warned us about before arriving.

I came here for a weekend camping trip with another family. We had 4 adults and 3 kids, and everyone had a great time! The communication and directions from the host were very helpful. The site was beautiful. We had the whole field to ourselves, and it was a short walk to the river. It was a short drive in to Maupin one day for lunch and a swim in the Deschutes. I was concerned going into it because a lot of reviews mentioned bugs being a problem, but we didn’t have any issues. The yellowjackets were definitely around, but they only seemed interested in our food. No stings and no bites for anyone over the whole weekend.

Having a space to ourselves was just perfect for camping. The site was quiet and secluded, the creek along the back was beautiful. It was wonderful to find a spot to get back to nature, to not have to worry about others being around. The dogs had plenty of space to run around and have fun. It was perfect in every way and would certainly go there again.

Beautiful private river to swim in with gorgeous mountain (?) backdrop. If you’re an animal lover then you will especially love this site. Tons of friendly and beautiful animals to visit! If you’re a carnivore then you must check out the dream fridge of ranch meats. John and Hoss were so friendly and generous — if I am ever in the area again then I would love to come back. 10/10

This place was beautiful! From the moment we arrived, it felt calm, peaceful, and like the perfect little escape. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. He gave us free firewood, showed us around the ranch, and even let us meet and pet all the animals (which was awesome!). Being surrounded by that beautiful scenery was so refreshing, and getting here was super easy. We’re already talking about our next trip back. Couldn’t recommend it more!
