Happy Bears Camp would really be suitable for those passing on I-5, who want a quiet place to park for the night. We are only one mile from I-5 (mile marker 80). Heading North on exit 80, there's a sharp 25 mph off-ramp on a downhill -Take it slow!
There are lots of reservoirs, and a few rivers in the general area. The closest Reservoir is 12 miles away. Crater Lake is two hours away. The Pacific Ocean is 2 hours 15 minutes away. Closest river is less than a mile. You will cross it on the way here. There is lots of BLM land with dirt road access in the area. There is hunting in the area. The tiny town of Glendale is three miles away, (one route is safe for bicycles). There is a Grocery store, bank, laundry, three restaurants, two gas stations and a bakery. There are also two parks in town. One has a Frisbee golf course. Easy RV parking in town. On the way here, you will pass one of the restaurants and gas stations with a lot big enough to accommodate the largest RV. On the property: You may walk around. There aren't any trails and the undergrowth gets thick quickly under the trees. There is a fire break to walk, that circles the meadow. This will give you access to the trees. If you walk up the right side, our neighbor's dog will make a ruckus as you pass their house. Don't worry, just noise. At the top of the meadow, is a lovely view over this part of the valley.

Osprey’s Perch is set up well for serving as a base camp for local activities like hunting, fishing, kayaking, rafting, day hiking, or just spending time on the river at one of the few private access points in existence. Osprey’s perch is a small campsite perched above the Salmon River. The pit toilet is just downhill from the camp at the end of a trail winding down through the meadow and to the right. There is private access to secluded swimming and fishing holes on the lower Salmon River down the meadow trail and to the left. A bridge provides shelter from rain if needed. The area is known for its world class steelhead fishing and is unparalleled in its natural beauty. The elk even stop by occasionally on a late winter/early spring morning if you are lucky enough to get the timing right… I hope you enjoy our most recently additions, tent pads on a nice deep bed of chips, and a dog run for your best friend!

Excellent staff and really unique campground. We loved all the little touches that made it feel special. We came for a birthday week and were blown away by the experience. Close to the beach, clean, lots of fun activities and just a beautiful place. You can tell they really are putting in work and truly care for the property. Everyone was wonderful and I could not say enough good things about the staff. Thank you!

There was someone already in my tent spot and they were out of tent spots. They quickly moved me to a secluded, small RV spot back near the meadow and it turned out to be great! Nice little hidden gem with beach access!

Very nice and clean campground. The bathrooms were excellent and had clean, hot showers. Easy walk to the beach which we did with our dogs every morning. A little more expensive but you get what you pay for. Just wish they would re-open the restaurant.

A great place to stay. Office staff was very inviting. Definitely could hear the ocean at our site. Nice to hear mother nature at work. One thing that was a drag was that Hipcamp stated camp fires were allowed. Brought enough wood for such. Got there and was told a fire ban was in effect. Bummer. Got an email during the middle of our stay from Hipcamp saying that camo fires were not allowed. Little slow on the ball there. Still had a good time and met some new people.

Exceeded all expectations for my husband and I! After a 10 day roadtrip, having a beautiful, CLEAN, curated space that met all the glamping needs was to say the least, wonderful! We loved staying at the cabin! It’s super nice, clean and modern and the loft bed was really cool. The bathroom is a half-minute walk from the cabin, super close, clean and updated looking. Cara is very sweet, responsive and helpful. The property felt very safe and peaceful. We’d definitely come back!

The cabin was comfortable and the loft serene. We slept like babes and enjoyed the double rainbow in the sky. The outdoor seating area was pleasant and the lighting outside was a nice touch. The compost toilet worked well. My wife liked the bathhouse. We hope to return.

This is such a great stop on the way to SF from Portland! Hands down much more enjoyable and authentic than staying in a cheesy hotel off the interstate. The cabin was very well done with lots of cute touches, an incredible view to enjoy sunset and sunrise, and welcoming dogs on top of it all! Also, the bathhouse might be my favorite hipcamp bathhouse yet. Highly recommend one night or more if you’re staying in Ashland or just stopping on your way through to somewhere else.

Beautiful views. The stars at night were an awesome bonus. Cute little cabin get away with some friendly sheep close by. Just what my little family needed.
The cabin was cozy. And thank the Gods for the AC unit. It was a hot stay, but that kept us comfortable. We enjoyed the crickets at night, and heard some coyote near by. Our first morning we were greeted by a sweet doe munching on her breakfast.
The outside seating area was a nice place to relax and play some games together. The fire pit is an added bonus for night time relaxing.
