Weekend Trip to Twisted Juniper Ranch

This was one of the most unique places I've visited! Truly a experience. Drew was a wonderful host and a great help figuring out the cover on the yurt. I appreciated the proximity to the out house and the extra detail of potted water, water to wash hands and dishes as well as a grill. The yurt was thoughtfully stocked with a kettle, some teas, dish soap, garbage bags, paper towels and cups. It's about 15 min drive to downtown/old bend and about another 10 (25ish min) to the Amphitheatre. I would highly recommend staying here, I hope to be back soon!

Simple, level, shaded spot to stay right off the road so there is traffic noise but it didn’t bother us. 1 mile from The Mill District.There is a historic canal trail about 150 feet from the property. Really ice trail. The dogs loved it. Mike is a friendly host and a pleasure to talk to.

We had such a wonderful experience thanks to our amazing camp host! We arrived late at night with a last-minute reservation, and he went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. He greeted us warmly despite the hour, helped us get settled quickly, and made everything feel easy and stress-free. What really stood out was his thoughtfulness during our stay—while we were out exploring for the day, the wind picked up and he took the time to stake down our tent so nothing blew away. That level of attention and care is rare and so appreciated. Truly one of the best camp hosts we’ve ever had—friendly, helpful, and genuinely looking out for his guests. Can’t recommend him highly enough!

What a great site! Very quiet and private. When we arrived, Mateo showed me where to go and was very helpful. There are a mix of farm animals on the other side of the fence. They are friendly and cute. They do wake up early so if you sleep in, you may get waken up. Overall, it is very quiet and romantic spot. I'll definitely book again when we travel back to Bend.

Was able to park my Sprinter for the night with access to water, power, a grill, and a clean porta-potty. I pulled in kinda late and Matt came out to greet me. Wonderful host! Definitely keeping this spot in mind for the future!

Matt was an awesome host. The property is an incredible alternate to Tumalo State Park if you’re anything like me and don’t make reservations well ahead of time. The hobby farm next door has ducks, chickens, pigs and more and the view of the mountains is incredible. Super close to town as well, couldn’t be more convenient! Matt also allows your dog to be off leash and roam the property which is much better for everyone involved compared to leashing at state parks.

Weekend Trip to Rancho Mateo

Was able to grab a last minute booking for a quick overnight trip to Bend. Very clean area with nice grass and private port-o-potty. Plenty of room and felt very private. Was able to push in all but one tent stake by hand for popup tent even though they weren't super necessary. Matt was great to communicate with and help us with a late evening arrival with no issues. There is a small farm next door and throughout the night there are pockets of animal noises (geese, chickens, pigs, dogs, sheep, etc) and there were large sprinklers going until around midnight as well which added to the noise. If you're a light sleeper in a tent, it could be a problem. I am a light sleeper and had a restless night (not completely related to noise) so I went to the SUV to sleep and couldn't hear anything from inside of the vehicle. My teen daughter that is also a restless sleeper didn't seem to have any problems and was able to sleep well. So could have just been me. During the day, they provided some fun moments watching them move around one they were let out of their enclosure for the day. Overall, would still recommend.
