The Sunset Bay State Park has a huge trail network that spans the cliff line all the way from Sunset Bay to Cape Arago. Chuck’s Seafood in Charleston is a great spot to pick up local seafood. BBQ some oysters on the grill or pick up some fresh fish and enjoy the bounty of the coast. Exceeded Expectations! Tim's property is stunning. Everything is very well maintained, the porta-potty is the cleanest and best smelling that I've ever experienced. The area is open, yet private. We had a sneaky visitor while we were gone one afternoon, help himself to a jar of peanut butter we mistakenly left out. Our Racoon camp buddy came back that night to sniff our tent and hang out in the bushes while we relaxed by the fire. The location is perfect. It's very close to one of the best beach spots along the southern Oregon Coast, Sunset Bay. While we didn't make use of the shower or sauna, we checked them out when we picked up firewood and chatted with Tim - they seemed clean and inviting. Tim was a great host - I had some vehicle issues that caused us to get in very late one night and impacted our departure time. He just gave us a jovial wave as we left. FYI - Lots of neat stuff to explore within the camping area - check out the creek! The ground was wet and slick; I tried as hard as I could to not spin-out in my truck, but unfortunately I left a few minor marks in Tim's beautifully maintained grass. Very sorry, Tim!

Tim's place was absolutely amazing, the endless possibilities and beautiful sounds and views 😍 we will be back. The sites where way bigger than we expected, we had plenty of room for all of us. It was so nice. We could hear the Elk and sea lions all night and the morning before we left we seen some whales just a couple of minutes down the road. It was an experience.

About 20 minutes drive . Charlatan is the closest town - Millers Cove - crab Louie Salad ! Coffee on the corner and Davey homes locker if you forgot anything ! The most amazing view to wake up to! Our 1 year old son had a blast roaming around the site and watching fishing boats on the river. Nicole and Brian were so welcoming and helpful! 10/10 recommend to anyone passing through the area!

This place is our favorite coastal camp. The location is perfect as a base camp while heading off on Bandon or Port Orford excursions or to simply enjoy the quiet scenery of the river and wildlife refuge. A camping home away from home.

We love that place. So beautiful and peaceful. My dog thinks it the greatest thing sense peanut butter! He gets to be off leash, swim all he wants and love rolling and digging in the sand. We plan to come back every year.

Weekend Trip to Smith River Store & Tavern

Beautiful location on the Smith River with easy access drive-in site in my van. Each site had a picnic table. There is a small store with food items for sale but not much remained although my visit was at the end of the fishing season. Well stocked bar with plenty of brew selection. This Hip-camp is 15-20 minutes from Reedsport which is a good location for any needed business in the city of Reedsport. I will definitely stay here again when I visit the area.

Our campsite was lovely. I never met Tim but he was gracious in welcoming us beforehand. If you have small dogs be aware that, like any wilderness area, there are coyotes on the property or very nearby.

Wow - it's almost like a private lake. Beautiful property, easy lake access, and perfectly quiet. Janellen and Allen were great hosts, easy to communicate with, super accommodating, and allowed us to have our time away without a lot of fuss. We will be back as often as possible- amazing!!

Amazing spot… private, quiet, trails all over to walk on. The dogs had the best time running around and playing in the lake. Will try to make this an annual trip! Highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to Cranberry Overlook

Go straight at the barn! (Don't go left!) Lovely pastoral land, mellow sheep, we could hear the rolling surf, the site was level and private--even though one other site was visible, adirondack chairs and wooden picnic table with benches were a bonus, and the fire pit was great! Nick is a patient, attendant host. I highly recommend this farm!

This is my 3rd or 4th year back at Sunset Meadows, and the 2nd year I have brought 7-8 rigs with me for an event. We will keep coming back because the Meadow is absolutely gorgeous and the host, Tim, is such a pleasure to work with for events! Tim is always SO welcoming and accommodating and we make our reservations knowing we will have an amazing time! Thank you, Tim!
