1 night at Artemis Gardens BnB

My stay at Lisa's was just magical. The vibe was just heaven to this old hippie's heart who felt like a kid in a candy store exploring all the Wonders that can be found in every corner. This place is so unique warm and welcoming there's a little something for just about everyone unless you just want to hold up in a room alone and then you might as well go to a Motel 6 because this place is all about engaging in life in all forms whether it is chilling out to good music, creating some art or playing music on one of the instruments or cooking a nice meal for the first time in 6 weeks, even just sitting and watching the rain through the beautiful floor to ceiling Windows surrounded by plants. I have already told many friends and I'm planning a return visit. Thank you Lisa you are a gracious and beautiful hostess

Weekend Trip to Fairhaven

We had such a great time camping at Fairhaven! The campsite was nice with a lot of shaded trees, privacy and a picnic table. We loved how peaceful it was at night and the close proximity to a real toilet (which was especially clean)! Our little ones really loved looking at the chickens and had fun playing in the sandbox area. Melissa, the host, was very communicative and hospitable. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely be back!

3 nights at The Land of Milk And Honey

We loved camping here. Our new favorite spot. The owners were incredibly kind and went above and beyond on the amenities! We were greeted with cookies (for us and our pup!)--what a start! Those cookies are HEAVEN. Firewood was available, the outhouse was clean (they even provide reading material!). The spot was secluded and the creek babbling in the background was soo relaxing. The farm animals were sweet and didn't mind us visiting everyday with our dog. They provided trash/recycling bins, an excellent cooktop and a well-thought out space to set up camp! We even had trees to hammock in and the grass was cut around the field so we had a wonderful walking path. The turkeys were a hoot to listen to! 😆 We will absolutely be back and feel so lucky to have found this place!

Polly’s land right on the bank of the Ohio River had recently flooded. It was still beautiful and peaceful. We appreciated that Polly made a special trip to help us with a lock and key issue , on a rainy Friday night! The carport shelter was great in the rain, camping in our van.

My adult daughter and I do a get away each year to celebrate our birthdays. We both are exhausted professionals and need to truly wind down. Lisa’s place was exactly what we needed. The house is so deeply chill and comfy! So many cool things to look at and touch. The added plus of the hanging hoop really blew my daughter’s mind and I loved watching her play like a girl again. We will 100% be coming back!!!

Vaughn's got a great space. After camping with a group the last couple of trips, I was looking to camp solo and this was a good creekside spot that fit that mood. While I was a lone camper, this spot works for a small group as well, with the benefit of a nice outhouse. Which the sound of the creek will have you visit a few times. Overall, a fantastic spot where you can get a nice mix of farm and nature, and to take a break from the world beyond the creek.

It was a peaceful stay. A nice retreat while in town for worlds WGI (drumline competition). Lisa made breakfast & coffee each morning. Other guests brought their doggo Fox. It was nice having a furry friend around. I hope to come back next year & bring my husband & dog too!

Everything went GREAT! Kim is super friendly and sweet! Although it was windy for our stay, Kim’s farm was PERFECT for our first time camping in our new travel trailer! We look forward to camping here again. The cows were a plus as well😇

Its a great spot. The host was very friendly but not intrusive. He welcomed us and gave us some cookies shortly after we had gotten all set up. It's secluded and the actual campsite is tucked away in the woods by a creek. There was a very friendly turkey who came to visit us multiple times. We also got to see the cows up close. There was also a rooster who would wake us up every morning, but he was far enough away to not be too loud. Lots of ducks, cranes, and bats at night. It rained a lot while we were there which we found quite peaceful. Perfect getaway for us, completely recommend this site.

Weekend Trip to Artemis Gardens BnB

Lisa (human), Nemo, Luna, and Artemis (cats) were amazing hosts during my stay. I came for an outdoorsy getaway and the hiking in the area was plentiful and close. Definitely check out the Charleston Falls - they're amazing year round! Lisa's house is a work of art, each nook and cranny painted and decorated with her own work and charming decor. The room was cozy, the bed comfy, the cats friendly (shout out to my girl Nemo, who will crawl into your skin if you let her. Lots of kisses and cuddles from that ginger sweetheart). The highlight is the sitting room with gorgeous plants and lots of sunlight, looking out onto greenery and critters. Lisa was a gracious host who answered all messages/requests quickly. She made me breakfast and gave me recs for local spots. Spot was easy to find, parking was easy, and although there are a few far-flung neighbors it was 100% quiet.

4 nights at GloryField Hospitality Farm

Had to be in Jamestown, OH for a couple of days, and this Hip Camp site was in the perfect location. The setting was peaceful, and each morning brought a beautiful sunrise. Unfortunately, the weather was cold, windy, and rainy during our stay—I wish it had been warmer so I could have taken a nature walk around the property. The site was easy to access, making arrival and departure hassle-free. Kimberly, the host, was fantastic with communication, and if you're traveling with a group, she has nearby Airbnb properties as well. Looking forward to coming back in better weather!

2 nights at Rustic Retreat

I loved staying at Rustic Reteat! The property is beautiful and Ro wet was a generous host. I don't do the traditional tent camping but I stead have decked out my car for camping with a hatchback tent. Robert had a space for me to pull my car into and stay for the week. Since it was the "off season" I happened to be the only camper here, so it was very quiet. It was also provided an extension cord to be able to hook up my electric and stay comfortably during the last of the winter weather. I highly recommend staying here. The airstreams that are available to stay in look beautiful and are situated to give privacy for any camper.

This was our second time at Land of Milk and Honey, the experience was as great as the first time. We love how secluded this place feels so when we need to get out of the city, it is the perfect spot. Bathroom is one of best I've seen at the dozen or so Hip camps I have stayed at. There is also a very impressive outdoor cooking setup so if you don't have your own this is a big win for you. Hosts are very helpful and accommodating, we were even greeted with some AWESOME homemade cookies and treats for the dogs. My dog Tippy buried hers near the wood pile so we're all very excited to go back soon.

This 5 acre property is loaded with activities! The stocked pond (catch and release) is a great place to teach your kids how to fish. You don't have to be an experienced fisherman to catch a fish in this pond! Swimming, kayaking, paddle boat, cornhole, small beach area for the little ones, and 2 acres of wooded trails for those who enjoy a peaceful walk. Wildlife is abundant and they prefer to be left alone. Please stay on the trails to preserve all vegetation. If you see a fawn or other babies, please do not touch these animals. Momma will be back! If you see one in distress, please contact the host. The community area at the gazebo offers a charcoal grill (charcoal available for purchase), seating, electric outlets, and water. Please be considerate to other guest while using this area. Trash receptacles are available at different areas on the property. Fresh eggs and produce will be available when in season. Please ask if you are interested. Campsites are located in the woods and are primitive. Sites include picnic table, fire pit, and trash can. Campers have access to a bathroom with a shower that is located in the basement of the cabin. All campers need to check-in with the on-site owners. All gear can be transported with a golf cart. Fairhaven - Cabin on the Pond can also be rented on the Airbnb website. Ohio River experience

California, Ohio is a community on the Ohio River about a twenty minute drive upstream from Cincinnati. Actually the eastern-most neighborhood of Cincinnati, it has it's own small town or quaint village atmosphere. Safe, flat, scenic and walkable, California boasts several dining experiences, one a brewery, and quite a variety of recreational experiences. Riverbend, a music venue in season, is a mile away, possible walking distance, as is Belterra, a race track and casino. The bike trail is a few blocks away and connects to all the other area bike trails including the Loveland Bike Trail along the Wild and Scenic Little Miami River. A local nature preserve, California Woods, offers hiking and nature programs, and there is even the California Golf Course. If watching baseball leagues play games is your cup of tea, there is a large sports complex with ball fields in California. A town park with trees and large, grassy open spaces and small playground is a few blocks away. Bring your game of horse shoes, corn hole, a frisbee to throw, your skateboard, golf cart, or some bikes just to cruise around and take in the scenery. Nearby, and right the Wild and Scenic Little Miami River is Armleder Park, also with walking and biking trails which also connect to the 5 mile loop around Lunken Airport. I have two properties which offer two different kinds of camping, which I have itemized separately in the Hipcamp listings. RV Campers will park on the upper level at the Panama Street address , and have one set of amenities. It is a short walk lead down to the Ohio River where there is a small patio with table and chairs overlooking the river. Tent campers set up their tents right beside the river and have a different set of amenities, as itemized on this website. It's an unusual set up, as perhaps Hipcamper spots often are. It is interesting and relaxing to watch the barges and pleasure boats go by. On one hand I feel like I am in the middle of nowhere when I am on these (small, very not fancy) properties by the river. On the other, there are planes, trains, barges and pleasure boats, and motorcycles passing by at times. The River can be mesmerizing and serene, shimmering in the western sun, or busy with weekend pleasure boats and barge traffic. Take a walk around town, then sit by the river and watch the boats go by. Relax, set up your grill and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Ohio River. Perfect for river rats. Downtown Cincinnati is 15 or 20 minutes away with no traffic, and there are two or three ways to get there. There is a lot to do in Cincinnati. My place in California is just a few minutes from the I 275 exit.

Cedarville University - 10 Minutes, Yellow Springs & Youngs Jersey Dairy - 20 Minutes. Larger cities of Springfield, Xenia, & London - 30 minutes. Experience the best of luxury and relaxation in this secluded canvas tent at Bunker Farm, nestled within the picturesque creekside of the 7-acre farm in Ryland Heights, Kentucky. Step inside this furnished bell tent to discover a spacious retreat complete with a queen size bed. Marshall Road runs through the bottom third of our property making a secluded area along Decoursey Creek that feels like a you're way out in the woods, yet not far from the city. Our canvas tent is situated under large mature trees, secluded from the road. An open field located on the property along Decoursey Creek, which brings in a variety of flora and fauna. This 12 foot canvas bell tent is sure to take relaxation to the next level. Within this tent, a queen size memory foam mattress, lightweight sheets, extra blankets and paired with two firm and two soft pillows are provided. The door way is a double zip closure. For cooking, a gas burner and a small gas grill, a cast iron skillet along with acacia wood plates and bowls, utensils, and knives are available for use. For fresh coffee in the morning, an enamel Percolator and mugs are provided. An extra large cooler (100 gal) for your cold items is available outside of the tent. Please bring your own camping equipment if needing any items outside of what's listed. For your bathroom needs, we are currently building a bath house. It does have a fully functional toilet and sink using water catchment. The shower is not complete, will be in the coming weeks. Please bring water for drinking and brushing teeth. Toilet paper, hand soap and sanitizer will be provided. In addition to firelight from the campfire, the tent is lit by battery-powered a LED lantern, battery operated candles, decor and a pair of solar lamps. No electric is available at this site currently. One battery operated fan is provided. First load of wood is included with your reservation. $7 per bundle if you need more. We use the honor system for this, please send any extra money through HipCamp if more wood is used. We provide fire starting materials and a lighter, fire extinguisher is located in the trunk within the tent. Parking area is close to the tent, yet not right next to it. A large rolling cart is provided to help with getting belongings to and from the parking area. Please only park and drive on graveled area. Creekside Hideaway is nestled on Decoursey Creek, you will have access to the bottom area of the property along the creek. Rock steps have been put in along the creek for easy access down to the creek. This property is partially wooded, and has an open field as well. We are always pet friendly, but you must maintain control of your pets and you are responsible for them at all times. Decoursey creek is a natural waterway. It is frequented by wildlife and can be contaminated by runoff from local farms. DO NOT drink the water. Make sure to wash your hands after they have been in the water before eating and drinking. Pink tape on trees are to mark the approximate property lines, please remain within the property. The creek is part of the property but please do not go to the far bank, as the creek marks our property line.
