The trail begins across the road opposite the campground driveway. Ticks, mosquitos and deer flies can be bad at times. Protect yourself! See us on Facebook at Edge of the Ledge Camp. The 7 Principals of Leave No Trace *Plan Ahead and Prepare *Know the regulations and special concerns for the area you'll visit. *Prepare for extreme weather, hazards, and emergencies. *Schedule your trip to avoid times of high use. *Visit in small groups when possible. Dispose of Waste Properly Pack it in, pack it out. Inspect your campsite, food preparation areas, and rest areas for trash or spilled foods. Pack out all trash, leftover food and litter. Utilize toilet facilities whenever possible. Otherwise, deposit solid human waste in catholes dug 6 to 8 inches deep, at least 200 feet from water, camp and trails. Cover and disguise the cathole when finished. Pack out toilet paper and hygiene products. To wash yourself or your dishes, carry water 200 feet away from streams or lakes and use small amounts of biodegradable soap. Scatter strained dishwater. Leave What You Find Preserve the past: examine, photograph, but do not touch cultural or historic structures and artifacts. Leave rocks, plants and other natural objects as you find them. Avoid introducing or transporting non-native species. Do not build structures, furniture, or dig trenches. Minimize Campfire Impacts Campfires can cause lasting impacts to the environment. Use a lightweight stove for cooking and enjoy a candle lantern for light. Where fires are permitted, use established fire rings, fire pans, or mound fires. Keep fires small. Only use down and dead wood from the ground that can be broken by hand. Burn all wood and coals to ash, put out campfires completely, then scatter cool ashes. Respect Wildlife Observe wildlife from a distance. Do not follow or approach them. Never feed animals. Feeding wildlife damages their health, alters natural behaviors, [habituates them to humans], and exposes them to predators and other dangers. Protect wildlife and your food by storing rations and trash securely. Control pets at all times, or leave them at home. Avoid wildlife during sensitive times: mating, nesting, raising young, or winter. Be Considerate of Other Visitors Respect other visitors and protect the quality of their experience. Be courteous. Yield to other users on the trail. Step to the downhill side of the trail when encountering pack stock. Take breaks and camp away from trails and other visitors. Let nature's sounds prevail. Several spots to choose from. WiFi available if spot is close enough to main house. Very private for a small 2 acre property. No houses in sight in the summer on my land and no houses in site at all, year round in camping locations. Bathroom is an outhouse. Water provided from around April 1st to November 1st “weather dependent “. After that will fill tanks or jugs at main house with non potable water. Potable water available from a natural spring on property. Very little noise from people. Gather fire wood for free from fallen trees, or I will provide firewood at a small fee. Mostly sound of nature. Surrounded by well over 100 acres of woods “ NOT part of the property”. About 1,800 ft off of very quiet low traffic Township rd. Only about 9 miles from the Mohican state park and forest with over 4,500 acres! Also plenty of things to do in Loudonville. Kayaks, canoe, inner tubing , swimming, fishing, hunting and much more all less than 10 miles away. Also 2A friendly location, provided all , federal, state and local laws are followed!

Weekend Trip to Lot Down At The River

I stayed at Kent's land as I wanted to fly fish at Apple Creek and the Upper and Lower Clear Fork of the Mohican. His spot put me 20 minutes or so to Apple, 15 minutes or so to the Lower Clear Fork and 20 minutes to the Upper Clear Fork. This made it a great place for me to make camp. While it is located in a "neighborhood" type of setting and isn't particularly remote, in the spring and summer when the trees are fully in leaf etc. it is likely quite pretty. It is rather bleak in the winter but frankly so is most of OH so that really wasn't an issue for me. I would stay there again if I planned the same trip. It is also perfect for exploring around downtown Loudenville which is a quaint town for sure.

Very private, fun location. I loved ax throwing and the provided firewood. There is a loud train nearby and the field is muddy so watch out if you don’t have 4wd. Great spot!

Tim's space was great! From the cleanest portable toilet I've ever seen to the buckets of water for drowning the fire, it was a really great experience. A great place for hammock camping, too, with plenty of trees to hang from. The meadow overlook gave a nice break in the tree cover for star watching!

We had a great time at Nick’s campground! We had a nice space and no issues at all. The path to the campsites is a little rocky so if you have an older beat up car like us and are driving in the dark, be sure to be careful! There is a close active train track but we didn’t mind it much. Complimentary wine bottles in the outhouse from their local winery as a nice added touch! Would definitely go back!

Weekend Trip to Goat Farm Hide-Away CVNP

We had a great time! We have trouble finding spots for winter camping and this space was great. We actually forgot our tent poles so the trip could have needed a lot of adapting- but with the access to the barn, we were able to set up inside. Facilities & amenities were clean & as described. Loved watching the animals in the morning and setting up my hammock back by the chickens. Allison was a fantastic host. Would absolutely stay here again!

We stayed at site 2, there was a tree blocking the path but it wasn't too hard to get around. There is a very active train track beside the site, which to us was very cool but to someone looking for a quiet site at night, or somewhere kids can run around without worry, it may be a concern. Access to the campsite was simple and the amenities were good!

We had a quick stop over at James farm on a road trip West and it was everything we needed. He responded quickly and even got us some fire wood last minute. We didn’t get to meet as we arrived late and left early but it was a beautiful place. The bathroom in the barn a great plus!

Great spot located right by CVNP. We enjoyed the campfire and laughed every time a goat would remind us we weren’t alone by sneezing. Even though the sun set early and the cool fall air filled the night we had fun. The barn was a nice surprise and good location for a small party. Woke up in the middle of the night to pee (very clean port-a-potty) and the stars were so clear and bright!
