GloryField Hospitality Farm is a 148 acre active farm and vacation destination. Enjoy your stay and the picturesque view of fields, cow pastures, and wetland pond. Spend your day fishing at the catch & release pond, hiking the 2 miles of mowed trails, you are 3 miles from the Ohio Erie Prairie Bike Trail head. Ask about helping with some of the farm chores. In the evening roast s'mores on a campfire, catch fireflies, or stargaze away from artificial light. The farm is shared space with a variety of short term rental sites; however each site has over 100ft away from each other. The owner Kim also lives on the property in the barn with her 2 golden doodles Scooby & Trixie. GloryField is an active farm so there are also people, vehicles, and farm equipment that have access to the property. They are the only people allowed to drive beyond the driveway. The nearest town of S. Charleston is 3 miles down the road and has a good grocery store, gas station, & dollar stores. Restaurants include Pizza/sub/salads, Chinese, Coffee shop, bakery, & Ice cream (unfortunately no delivery). Other popular destinations are... Cedarville University - 10 Minutes, Yellow Springs & Youngs Jersey Dairy - 20 Minutes. Larger cities of Springfield, Xenia, & London - 30 minutes. Flannel Dog Farm is a seven acre homestead on the site of an original 1860's farm. Here you'll find sheep, chickens, ducks, and dogs as well as a variety of wild animals and birds, native pollinators, and fields of wildflowers. Camping and lodging options include a large open camp area, a tiny house, and a covered wagon. Chris Zielski and Alan Block are the wife and husband team that steward the farm. Chris is a metal artist and has a beautiful onsite studio for her business, Copper Leaf Studios. Alan is a sourdough baker, gardener, and fermenter. In addition to Hipcampers, Flannel Dog Farm hosts art shows, classes, and retreats. Much like our farm's name, our place is warm, welcoming, rustic, and a little bit gritty. Weekend Trip to Glamping at River Run

This little getaway was everything. The rustic, bohemian vibe was thoughtfully executed. It was warm, inviting, and so clean! The hosts are excellent communicators which was evident right way. They have taken care of every detail. Seriously, leave it all at home! Blankets, lanterns, kitchen/cooking items - stocked! We drove over 3 hours to camp in someone's backyard. Was it worth it? YES! Not negatives, but some things to consider: There is a train nearby that you hear all night which i find personally comforting. You will also hear a decent amount of traffic noise from the nearby road. Although you're tucked away, there are still people and other glampers on the neighboring property that you can hear and see. Also, the waterfront is super cute! Probably good for fishing and walking the property, but too mucky for taking a dip. Oh! The nearby downtown area is also fabulous with lots of great shops, bars, and restaurants. This sweet little glamp spot has everything. 💕

This was such a cute spot! We loved how secluded it was. Nothing beats falling asleep to the sound of cicadas and rain on the roof. We only had one night but might be back to try farming for a day or a tractor ride as advertised on their website!

Weekend Trip to Stargazer Glamping Campsite

Pretty easy to find. Not on a main road. Not too far from it. Locked gated entry. Surrounded by trees and a creek. Beautiful property. Lots of wildflowers. I took a nap in the hammock when I arrived and unpacked. More than one seating area. Big fire pit. Huge, Beautifully decorated tent. Pretty much everything you would need. Eating and cooking utensils. Towels. I didnt get to use the pretty outdoor shower it was just too cold. Got down to 48. Site says heated but they didnt have a stove set up yet. Other than hearing the family playing across the creek there are no cons. I had a nice peaceful evening. I very much enjoyed my quiet time here at stargazer. Thank you 😊

Weekend Trip to Flannel Dog Farm

We spent one night at Alan & Chris’s bell tent and had the most wonderful time! The bell tent is cozy and durable (we stayed completely dry in a big storm). We enjoyed their specialty coffee and a delicious breakfast by them. Native plants, birds and their songs, and beautiful stars at night their property checks all of the boxes. We can’t wait to go back!

The Glamping Hilltop Hideaway is spectacular! Kimberly made sure everything was ready when I rolled up, and even offered to ride me up here on the Gator. The tent was perfect: great size, beds, on a raised solar lit deck, with outdoor furniture and a camping toilet to boot. If you are looking for a secluded getaway, and don't mind a walk, this is a great place.

3 nights at Dry Creek Pines

Dry Creek Pines has a great set up for all of your tent camping needs. We pitched our tent on the deck and used the picnic table for all of our kitchen needs. We used the fire ring every night and Adam has plenty of firewood so we didn't have to bring it with us. We brought a water jug with us and filled it up where we parked from the spicket on the property...this was very nice to have so close. Be aware that the hike from the car to the campsite is uphill and you will have to haul your supplies up the hill, which was a little strenuous for us but Adam warned us of it before we came. Adam was a great host. He was very communicative and answered all of our questions. Great memories were made!

Weekend Trip to GloryField Hospitality Farm

The tent and bathroom setup worked great for us! The shower is 1/2 mile from tent, right by the parking spot. We did not use it or look at it. Toilet is near tent. Super private tent and toilet set up The walk isn't bad and you can use her barn wagon to haul your things if you aren't trying to keep your stuff super clean....worked for us! The friendly host met us upon arrival and told us where to go, super communicable and available if you should need any help. The fishing pond is incredible- you will likely catch smaller large mouth bass but also a couple other types. We caught 10 fish in 2.5 hrs, fishing in the evening and around 10am. Our son had a blast. Even on a cold night, the tent on the hill was suprisingly warm, so I'd rather stay here in milder weather since I'm hot natured. Bring bug spray for ticks if you plan on walking around a lot. Stay out of tall grasses. She gave us an extra bed and bedding for the three of us to sleep comfortable and that took up the whole tent. But our large dog could fit to sleep on the floor at the front entrance with tent zipped shut. There's board games, fire pit and tons of fire wood, grill, drinking water, and water for bathroom sink. Hope this helps someone to book here! Would stay again. Enjoy!

Where to go

Great Lakes Plains

Sandy beaches and island getaways dot the 312-mile shore of Lake Erie, stretching from Toledo through Cleveland to Conneaut. East Harbor State Park is a highlight of the Lake Erie Birding Trail, and birders flock to nearby Maumee Bay State Park during the spring warbler migration. The most scenic spots for summer camping are on the islands, and regular ferries set out for the Bass Islands and Kelleys Island state parks.

Till Plains

Cornfields and farmlands blanket Ohio’s central region, but there are also more than a dozen state parks within a short drive of Columbus. The limestone gorges of John Bryan State Park harbor some of the region’s best hiking trails, while to the north, the Mohican River is one of Ohio’s top spots for canoeing. For beaches, boating, and lakeside campgrounds, Indian Lake State Park and Alum Creek State Park are both popular choices.

Appalachian Plateau

East of the Till Plains, the patchwork farmlands of Amish Country lead the way to the state’s only national park, Cuyahoga Valley. Just outside Cincinnati, East Fork State Park has one of the largest state campgrounds in Ohio, while the rugged landscapes of the Shawnee State Park are just a 2-hour drive from the city. For hikers, the ultimate challenge is the North Country National Scenic Trail, which cuts through southern Ohio.
