Nestled on 62 lush, wooded acres, Valley Overlook is a charming, family-run camping and lodging retreat that offers a perfect escape into nature. Located just 0.5 miles from the Hunt House Trailhead on the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail, our site is a dream come true for outdoor enthusiasts! What We Offer: Primitive Tent Sites: Immerse yourself in nature with our basic tent sites, just a short walk from the parking area. Perfect for those who love camping the old-fashioned way! Furnished Canvas Tent Cabins: Enjoy a blend of comfort and rustic charm in our fully furnished canvas tent cabins. Ideal for a cozy stay without sacrificing the feel of the great outdoors. 4-Season Cabin Rentals: For a bit more luxury, our 4-season cabins offer all the comforts you need to make your stay memorable, year-round. The ridge-line hike from your campsite promises breathtaking western views over the Cuyahoga Valley – a perfect spot for catching a sunset! Nearby activities: Whether you’re into hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, swimming, or skiing, there’s something here for everyone. Explore the nearby river and lake, or visit the swimming quarry and ski slopes! Please Note: Vehicle Restrictions: We only accommodate tent camping; no RVs, trailers, or oversize vehicles, please. Pet Policy: To ensure everyone’s comfort, we ask that you leave pets at home. Firewood: For ecological reasons, we do not permit outside firewood. We provide firewood for purchase on-site for $10 a bundle. At Valley Overlook, stepping out of your tent or cabin means stepping into a world of natural beauty and adventure. This is a small and simple bring-your-own-tent campsite for up to 4 people. This site has a fire ring and a beautiful wooded view. We are located in the heart of Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Enjoy easy access to trails, biking, river kayaking, farm markets and more! Just a short drive or bike ride to the historic Village of Peninsula and many trailheads. This site is about a 4 minute walk from our parking area. We have a wagon to help move your gear. • No pets please. • No visitors • 1 vehicle per reservation (park and walk to your site) • Plan to keep all food inside your vehicle or an airtight container. • Bring your own gear • There is no parking at the campsite • Park in our parking area; hike in, or bike in • There is no water or electricity at this site • Guests will have access to plumbed restrooms and showers • There is a fire ring at this site** • Maximum combined tent footprint: 12x12' (the full pitchable area for this site is about 12x12') • Maximum number of tents: 2 • Maximum total guests: 4 ** Moving firewood is regulated by state and federal authorities, and can spread destructive insects to local forests. Valley Overlook has USDA - APHIS - PPQ certified firewood for sale at market rate. Please do not bring firewood from outside! Check in starts at 4:00 PM Check out at 11:00 AM On some evenings, concerts at our neighbor, Blossom Music Center may be audible. The farm across the street utilizes propane cannons during the day for a few weeks out of the year to deter birds from eating their corn. IMPORTANT Cold Weather Note: While we offer these sites for booking year-round, some restroom locations may be closed from November-April. Guests will still have access to plumbed restrooms and hot showers in our main restroom location. Things to note: There is no electricity or water at the campsite. The parking area is about a one-minute walk from the site; we have wagons to help move your gear. No pets, no outside firewood, no exceptions. We have firewood for sale on-site for $10 per bundle (burns for about an hour). Some restroom locations may be closed during Ohio's colder months.
