Camping began ten years ago. We offer six shelters and nine primitive tent sites. We are incredibly close to the various trails located across the Cuyahoga Valley.
THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK!
1.WE DO NOT ALLOW FIREWOOD to be brought onto Heritage Farms property due to the potential risk to our crops and according to State and Federal Regulations. Firewood bundles may be purchased when making your reservations or upon arrival at the farm.
2. No vehicles may be driven into the camping area at any time.
3. All vehicles must remain in the designated parking lots
4. Campers are responsible for carrying their gear to their campsites—we provide wheeled carts for your use.
5. Ohio Primitive Camping licensing does not allow wheeled camping on Heritage Farms property.
6. Due to Summit County Health regulations, we cannot provide water. Please bring your own drinking and washing water. Or you may purchase 1-gallon jugs of water when you reserve your site or upon arrival. Our restrooms are porta Johns.
7. Tent sites (labeled A-J) have space for up to 3 tents. Shelter sites (numbered 1-6) have room for up to 2 additional tents. All sites are limited to a maximum of 6 campers
8. Heritage Farms is a working Farm. Please be aware that tractors and other machinery are in use during daylight hours
9. Check-in time is from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. If you’re arriving after 7:00 p.m., please let us know. Checkout time is 10:00 a.m. Please use the dumpster for all trash. Gray water stations are available for the disposal of used water.
10. Only campers registered to HipCamp are permitted to overnight on Heritage Farms property. We do not allow parties and underage or excessive use of alcohol at any time.
11. DOG POLICY: We welcome dogs who have received prior permission from the farm owners. A dog registration form including proof of rabies vaccination must be filled out upon arrival. Unvaccinated dogs are not permitted on the property. All dogs MUST always be on a leash and in the physical control of their owner(s). No pets may be left unattended at any time.

We have two glamping cabins that include beds and lanterns so you get the feel of sleeping in nature but comfortably. Each cabin has a picnic table, fire pit, and charcoal grill. One cabin has a queen-size bed and the second has a full-size bed and a trundle bed with 2 twin-size mattresses. The cabins do not have electric or water. A porta-potty is located near the barn (a 5 minute walk) and a lug-able loo or portapotty will be available closer to the cabins depending on when you stay.
We are happy to help get your gear back to the cabins with the farm cart and then it is an 8-minute walk along a hay pasture to the parking area.
Tent Camping
Our tent camping spots are located under Mother Oak, a 100-year-old oak tree in the middle of our farm. With ample shade, a fire pit, and nearby portapotty, you can relax under the stars into the night.
Hiking trails weave through the back of the property and you are welcome to explore those as well.
Because we are a working homestead and farm, a few things are true:
-Sometimes there’s mud. We suggest boots for walking around the property and in the woods.
-Our farm animals are great - and may also bite. Please do not pet or chase them. We are happy to arrange opportunities to interact with the animals. Just ask!
-Not always, but at times, our neighbors will start farming early in the morning and you can hear their machinery.
All of our sites have privacy but are not truly remote. We want you to enjoy yourselves but please be mindful that our house is on the property as well as our neighbors. Music needs to be turned down to a low level by 11 PM.
We can accommodate pop-up campers, camper vans, etc near Mother Oak as well. Please message with any questions before reserving. Additional fees would apply.
We can also accommodate larger tent camping groups depending on the day. Additional fees would apply.
The homestead is located near 58 so you can hear cars during the day and night. The cabins are about a ½ mile from the road so the noise is greatly reduced.
We regularly host modern homesteading workshops, full moon yoga, and sound baths at the farm. If you would like to inquire about booking one of these as an add-on to your stay, please message us!
Conveniently located 1 mile from Oberlin College, 6 minutes from the turnpike (I-80), and 35 minutes from Cleveland, Heartland Homestead is like stepping away from the hustle of everyday life and into nature. Several sites available on an organic blueberry farm near Oberlin College and Lake Erie. Blueberries are ripe in July. Site #2 is down by the Chance Creek, about 1/2 mile from the driveway. Very peaceful down there - a walk-in site. Site #1 is about 100 yards from the driveway, Site #1 also has access to a small shed. Both sites are woodsy and away from neighbors, roads and houses, however the interstate is not far. When the wind blows from the north you can barely hear it, but when a south wind blows and/or there is rain on the interstate, it can be pretty loud. We don't have a latrine. We have two "luggable-loo's" if you need them, have liners, too.

I started this 2 acre homestead! It is home to myself, my four dogs, turkeys, and some chickens. I’m very close to all the creature comforts like Walmart and Target, but the property is wooded on three sides so you feel like you’ve gotten away from the city. There is a small creek my dogs love to play in and a large field for frisbee and star gazing. There are hikes close by at Little Turtle Pond and many restaurants within 10 minutes like Woodys for breakfast and dinner at NauitiVine. With over 230 acres, a lake, trails, the Grand River, plenty of wildlife, and FREE firewood. Bass and Buck Adventures is the perfect place to get away. Once known as Parkman Gorge the valley was a hub for water powered industry in the early 1800's. The river and valley is home to a wide array of wildlife. Deer, turkey, eagles, hawks, owls, mink, river otters to name a few. The area also attracts many song birds including a wide variety of warblers. There is also an abundance of wild flowers. The valley is rich in Native American history. Many artifacts have been found on the property. My great grandfather talked about the last Native American to live in Parkman. He had a cabin on one of the bluffs along the river. In the 1820's there was a water powered sawmill, flaxseed mill, and forge on the river. The boy scouts used the valley for a camp in the 1920,s. My grandpa purchased the property in the 50's from Ohio Edison. Ohio Edison's plan to dam up the river for hydro power never materialized. The valley has been a favorite for outdoor enthusiasts. Camping, hiking, fishing, hunting. Many of the items used for the camp sites have been reclaimed. The fire rings are old tractor rims and scrap steel. The tent platform is from reclaimed deck lumber. The firewood is excess cutoffs purchased from a local sawmill.

I loved camping on Nick's land got to explore the river and he has fresh fire wood for my family. It rained quite a bit and my car got stuck not once but twice and he quickly ran to the rescue. So kind and accommodating. I would definitely camp there again. The site was near a train track but it honestly wasn't bad. This was my first time using hip camp and I couldn't have had a better host to get me excited to camp more this year using the app.

Loved the overall energy of the site. I stayed in site #4 and originally was going to be in a tent site further away from the parking lot. It rained all day prior to my arrival so I was able to move to my new site last minute with the host’s help - this was SO appreciated! I am glad I did site 4 after all. There were no privacy issues with it being close to the lot and it’s separated from the other cars.

I enjoyed my stay here. It was a unique camping arrangement, but I like the layout. The Christmas trees were lovely to see each morning. Our campsite was nice and secluded. The porta potties were well stocked with toilet paper and hand sanitizer and did not smell. They were very clean.

Weekend Trip to Camping at Heritage Farms
Great place to camp, had a fantastic time staying in the A frame! Campsite had everything we needed and was a perfect place to stay when visiting the national park. Sounds from the road nearby could sometimes be heard, but it wasn’t much of an issue.

this site is a sweet little patch of grass tucked into her yard, it's not far from the city and there is a road nearby you can hear but it feels succluded enough. she was very nice and helpful and i enjoyed my stay here.

Second time staying here! We tented in April (close and rainy) and so appreciated the gravel area for the tent. We enjoyed the C4 site. Bathrooms are a bit of a walk but they all are super clean & warm both in the bigger building and in the stand alone sites. Fire wood that we bought there was dry and burned well. The whole area is clean and quiet has lots of other options for your stay. Will come again if going through that area!

3 nights at Camping at Heritage Farms
We stayed Monday-Thursday and it was absolutely beautiful. Our hosts were very kind and attentive. We stayed in site 2 which is pretty much in the middle of the tree farm, stunning sunsets and the stars at night were gorgeous. I will stay if you over pack like us it’s more to carry lol but the wheel barrels they have are very useful. We’ve from Richmond va and will most definitely stay again next time we’re in the area!
-on a different note I think you guys could do a lot with your sites during Christmas time! Maybe in the glamping site have a hot cocoa station, the other you could do pictures with Santa or even elf’s! We think it could be a great profit margin for you guys! 10/10 would recommend this site
