Welcome to the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina! At approximately 3,455 feet elevation we enjoy mountain breezes all summer PLEASE DO NOT ‘photo book’! We ask guests to please read through the details BEFORE booking a site. For example: not all tent sites are park at sites. Some of our more secluded sites in the woods are far from bathrooms etc. Sites near the winery/bathrooms are not secluded and you can see/hear ‘people’. As of Jan 2025 we change to an age 13+ campground. No one under the age of thirteen years old is permitted to camp overnight. Younger children will still be permitted to visit the winery next door to the campground during open hours but must have an adult (18 years plus) with them at ALL times! Due to an incident that could have ended in tragedy we have a zero tolerance policy of unsupervised children. You will be asked to leave if your young child is unattended by an adult. During the summer months we often have free range chicken eggs and organic produce and herbs available for our campers. We are next to our own winery/cidery that features home brew wines and beer. We also offer sodas. Firewood is for sale. You may bring your own firewood as long as it’s not from out of state. We have a few primitive sites in our woods for those who love more seclusion and places to hang hammocks. We offer Hiking/jogging trails at the campground with more trails on the nearby blue ridge parkway. We are just a 5 minute drive to downtown Little Switzerland. We are also only a 5 minutes drive to the famous Diamondback scenic mountain road. Approximately 20 minutes drive to Crabtree Falls on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Our cantina next door at 539 blue ridge gem mine road is open for the season and serving home brew beers and small batch ciders for ages 21 and older. Photo ID required. Sodas available for purchase as well. We now have a well lit covered porch area and club house with free WiFi and available 24 hours to our campers. Note: absolutely no outside alcohol or underage alcohol consumption permitted on premises. Anyone not in compliance with North Carolina state laws and federal laws will be evicted from campgrounds without refunds. If the campgrounds happen to be under a burn ban please understand that we can’t and will not break the law for you! All campers must obey the burn ban if in effect or face possible penalties under state law! This is for your own safety as well. Anything sold by us may be legally consumed at your campsite and is covered under our winery ABC permit. Camp host can’t go to bed until all campers are checked in so no late night arrivals please! Thank you for your understanding. Adult horseback trail rides are available at nearby Springmaid Mountain Retreat. Maps provided to Springmaid Mountain. All minors must have ADULT supervision at all times at the winery next door (older siblings do not qualify as adult supervision). If we are babysitting your children to keep them out of danger or from damaging our property you’ll be asked to leave. We want everyone to be safe. Up to 2 dogs are allowed per campsite. Dogs Must remain on leash at all times and have proof of up to date rabies vaccination. We have chickens and horses on our mini farm so please keep dogs under control at all times. Also, please do not feed our chickens, horses or any of the wildlife on our property. It is the responsibility of our campers to check the weather conditions, noting any burn bans for the area or rain etc, looking at all the rules and property details, before booking is the campers responsibility. Please do not blame the host! HipCamp now offers rainy day insurance Watch for our special events like ghost story campfire tales/walk with local guest authors, mountain yoga, herbal remedies classes, trail treasure hunts with prizes, mushroom identification classes etc. Additional parking is available for added cars in the guest parking lot area if campers have no more room at their campsite for visitors or any extra cars. We have a hot/cold shower and modern style flush toilets available in large cargo container. We also now have free Starlink WiFi in the Cantina/clubhouse area and some of the closer tent sites. Our clubhouse stays open for campers 24/7 with a microwave available, games, television and comfortable seating areas. Note: The quarter mile of gravel drive is steep but I drive my two wheel drive car up and down it every day. However, if you have a vehicle that chugs and struggles up hills (older RV etc) you may find it a challenge. We are working on getting that section paved to help out the older RVs and buses. Note: The gray building and pond area is NOT our property. Do not wander around our neighbors pond /barn area. Thank you! All campers are expected to read and follow the HipCamp guidelines. This is not just a ‘business’, it is also a family home that we are graciously sharing with you for a small fee so we expect campers to respectful of our land, our neighbors and your fellow campers. Anyone who can’t show integrity, maturity and be responsible and respectful of this will be asked to leave and/or permanently banned from both the winery and our campgrounds. No fighting! This includes couples fighting. Settle it 'off property'. We are pretty mellow, yet take bad behavior and disrespect for others very seriously. Unsupervised children has been a huge problem lately and we simply won’t tolerate very young children wandering the woods, running across other folks campsites, deliberately damaging our property etc. It is up to the parents to fully supervise their children and keep them safe! Caught without a last minute hotel room and rather not park your family in Walmart lot? We offer car camping in our parking lot for $15.00 a night. You’ll have access to bathrooms and a hot shower! We also have tents, sleeping bags and camping mats for rent. Summer of 2025 will be our third year open and there have been many wonderful improvements! ❤️ We made it through Hurricane Helene with minimal damage and with the help of some kind volunteers we have some great updates!

Hi! Lindsay and Matt West here. Our farm is situated on a 33 acre forested property in the Swannanoa mountains where we grow plants, make pottery and do metalwork. Although our dirt road is ~3/4 mile long, we are just 8 miles from the heart of Asheville, 4.5 miles from Beacon Village in Swannanoa, 9 miles from Black Mountain, and 3 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Our property is home to some of the most rare and beautiful wildflowers in the region, wildlife of all kinds, and a wood fired pottery kiln! We have three spirited dogs who bark and play in the yard, and neighbors who ride motorcycles and make some noise sometimes, so it's not always quiet and peaceful, but it is beautiful and far more private than you'll get at a campground. This is a working forest farm and studio space, so there will likely be sounds of productivity during daytime hours. We often have plants for sale, as well as pottery, herbs, eggs, and other farm offerings. We live on a one lane mountain road that is shared by multiple homes. The road is rough in some areas. If you're used to forest service roads, you'll be fine here. If you're used to paved roads, you might find ours a little jarring. My mom drives a little front wheel drive car and makes it here fine, but use your best judgement based on what you're used to. AWD/4WD recommended for ease of parking at the campsite (just in case it has been a wet season, otherwise totally not necessary). We do recommend getting here before dark the first time you arrive if possible for ease of navigation.

If you a motorcyclist you might have come to enjoy the motorcycle mecca of our area. One of the favorite and well known rides is “The Diamondback on NC 226A, starting in Marion NC. This ride is only 22 miles from our camp. There is also The Blue Ridge Parkway and Lake James Loop that includes “The Devil’s Staircase. Make The Earth Center Camp your base. We do offer long term parking for those who have trailered their bikes here. The Earth Center offers guest the opportunity to reserved the entire ground for their private event. This is a DRY SITE. Your camping vehicle must be able to hold both sewage and gray water. The site borders a North Carolina trout stream. We reserve the right to cancel if you do not comply. The campsite is about 1.25 acres and part of a larger property. We set up a travel trailer here while we built our home. Recently one of our neighbors, who does quite a bit of camping, set up their travel trailer in the same spot while their home was being painted. They loved it and recommended that we offer the site for others to appreciate. Respecting the DRY CAMPSITE helps.

A perfect location for GS riders wishing to ride nearby forest service roads between TN and NC! In the meantime, picture yourself meandering through idyllic mountain-framed grounds of an old 1,000 acre dairy farm located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. On each side you are surrounded by some of the most stunning flora in the Eastern United States. Plants include Goldenseal, Ginseng, a variety of ferns, Trillium, Mayapple and Ramps. As you make your way up and over the hills, Hickory, Walnut, Tulip Poplars and majestic Oaks surround you. Ridgeline views are amazing and the sunset is unbelievable! Cool off in the Big Ivy River before settling in by an old dairy farm with rock silos. Book a tour on a rough terrain vehicle or go mountain biking before settling back into your campsite.

The site's (there's only one!) first appeal is the amazing view of Bull Mountain Ridge. Beautiful all year long, but particularly in late October when the leaves are in their richest colors. It feels private and tucked away, but is very accessible to all of what the Asheville area has to offer. Downtown is a 15 minute drive; ride services and shuttles are both easy to secure and quite affordable. The backdrop of the site is forested and easy to relax in - the understory is maintained for guest use, providing cooling shade with a stunning view. I usually try to say hello to folks and make sure they get settled in alright, but let me know if you'd prefer just to come in and have privacy. Don't feel the need to come to the house unless you can't get a hold of me via text and you need assistance. I may not be available when you arrive, but I'll try to get back in touch with you as soon as I'm able. **Please be aware that this section of North Carolina has a particularly large population of American black bears. Any food stuffs, or other "smell-ables" will potentially attract bears. Refer to: https://www.nps.gov/articles/bearsafetyfood.htm ...for proper treatment of potential attractants.

Will was friendly and helpful and also gave us space. Beautiful view. Great grocery store down the hill. Easy to get to downtown Asheville. Super close to Hellbender's new outdoor venue. Would stay again. Glad I have a small rig.

The wifi there was so helpful! We were able to do our work and stream a movie in the evening. Wish we could've stayed longer - this would be a great way to work from home if you needed a change of scenery.

Nice little spot on the creek! Easy in and out with our two-axle travel trailer. Easy to level, power was reliable, traffic was minimal, and it’s conveniently close to Weaverville and Asheville. Thom introduced himself when we were setting up and let us know to walk over to his house across the street if we needed anything. I highly recommend this site.

We enjoyed this quiet neighborhood to take adventures to Linville Falls, winery and cavern plus Grandfather Mountain. It was nice to be close to the activities we were doing. Then come back for a quiet evening with a small fire and dinner.

This was a return stay for me and the stay was even better than the last. Great WiFi and a peaceful view of the stream. Weaverville is fantastic and the surrounding towns are easy to get to. The Blue Ridge Parkway is easily accessible within 10-15min. Thom is a fantastic host who is always present and willing to make sure the stay goes well. I’ll be back again next summer!

Weekend Trip to Wiseman Ridge Boutique RV Park

This was our second time enjoying a weekend at Wiseman Ridge. Site #1 is spacious and private with the most wonderful mountain views. We love the peace and quiet, and also Wiseman Ridge's proximity to the Linville Falls Visitor Center and hiking trails. The Linville Falls Winery is just around the corner too! Eric is a very friendly and responsive host, and we will definitely be back!

3 nights at Spacious Skies Bear Den - RV/Tent Sites

Our first trip to a 'regular' campground with a large number of sites and amenities. This one is in a wooded setting with lots of trees everywhere. The sites themselves are not very private but the many trees adds to the ambiance making it a better experience. About half the sites around us were not occupied which helped but there is a good amount of separation between the sites. We did not use any of the other amenities since we were exploring the parkway and other sites in the area but were impressed with what was available right in the campground. Road entering the complex was slightly difficult (narrow and rough in areas) but we didn't have any problems entering or leaving.

It’s a beautiful spot to get away from the city. We had some fireflies every night. We ran low on fire wood and I messaged Nate. A couple hours later we had a ton of wood. Nate is a wonderful host. The hot tub was very clean.

Great spot near asheville! Easy to navigate and park. Pretty level spot. Lightning bugs are abundant with very few other insects. I slept very well in my pop up. Would stay again.

Finding a place to stay for multiple days in this area is a challenge. Thank goodness I found this site. I was greeted by the host immediately. He offered flexibility as I needed to reschedule without hesitation. The location is in one of the most primary areas of North Carolina to explore the great outdoors. What a wonderful experience.!

We enjoyed our stay. The locals were very nice. My wife called the area a gnome village because it was so pretty and tucked away. It was great. Easy in and easy out. Easy hook up. Owner was very nice. Loved the deck. Will definitely go back.

Wonderful site! Quiet, clean, good communication with Leslie and extremely helpful. Would definitely recommend and return to this site. Close to lake lure. Cute little town with a delicious local coffee shop. Lots of stars to enjoy at night.
