My Neighbor has started his own Campsite, "The Swimming Hole". If mine is booked up and you still want to camp, look him up. His is better suited for small groups but has much more privacy. We have a new road to the campsite; you can now drive down with two-wheel drive vehicle or RV down and park near your tent! There is plenty of soft sand to set up one tent or ten tents; large groups are welcome for an extra fee. A Porta-Potty is available at the campsite. Swimming is usually possible at the base of the falls; however, large amounts of rain can change conditions and make it unusable. I should also add, this is not a completely private campsite deep in the woods. The camp is visible from a shared driveway, and my residence is up a hill that overlooks the area. Also, I do not own the land on the other side of the stream. Occasionally, the owners of that land will spend a weekend afternoon enjoying the waterfall view also. Still much quieter and more private than a regular campground. Glamping tents and additional camping tents are available through a local company. Look in the pictures for the tent with red, white, and blue balloons. Message me for details. Close to US National Whitewater Center (mountain biking, whitewater rafting, kayaking), Kings Mountain National Military Park (Horseback riding and history), Crowders Mountain (Hiking), 3 miles off of I-85 and US-321 for people passing through.

Before the Kerr Scott Reservoir was built, in the 40's and 50's, this neighborhood was a local swimming hole and vacation area. Public buses came from neighboring communities so people could boat, swim, camp, and picnic. While we don't have access to the pond, our part of this land still is calling out to people, 'Come, rest, unload your burdens, and find peace.' When we started this project with Hipcamp, we didn't fully realize that we were reconnecting with the history on this property. So, come, take your shoes off, and wade in the creek. Read a book while laying in a hammock. Sit by the fire and chat with family and friends. Come and participate in our little homesteading project, and leave your burdens behind. LOCAL ACTIVITIES: To the west is the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is 30 minutes away. 15 minutes away is Kerr Scott Dam where you can rent kayaks, pontoon boats, as well as other sporting equipment. Fish, go mountain biking on the extensive trails, and hiking. Prayer Mountain is right up the road, about 2 miles away. Heading east, you can find several fine wineries andvineyards that you can visit. There is also a moonshine distillery in town. About a half hour away is an Amish community that has several businesses open to the public, including the Shiloh Bakery and General Store. They are closed on Sunday and Monday. To the northeast, about 45 minutes away, is Stone Mountain. Absolutely fantastic hiking, it is also an old homestead that has been renovated and is open to the public. To the south, there is Rocky Face Park, where there is hiking and rock climbing. Nearby, is Emerald Hollow Mine, where you can go and find, and keep, precious stones you find in the nearby river. There is also a great disk course course, Highland Hills Disc Golf Course, one of the top 25 in the country. There is fun for all ages. The downtown of Troutman is a short drive from your camp spot and there is a grocery store, drug store and many privately owned restaurants, including Italian, German and amazing fried chicken at Julia's! There is an ice cream parlor too!!  Another wonderful asset to Troutman is Daveste' Vineyard where there is live music often, and of course wine tastings! This beautiful vineyard is less than 10 mins away.

Learn more about this land: In this 40 acre track there are 2 hay fields, pasture, and forrest. From any area you camp🏕 the pond🏞, with fish, is in walking distance, so is a beautiful clear stream. ****Did I mention that this stream empties into Lake Tillary, yep, that is right. We are within walking distance to Lake Tillary and less than 5 mins to the boat landing. You may bring your boat and park it here while you camp. SPECIAL NOTE: There are animals here that you may pet once you have been properly introduced. You may bring your pets as long as they are vaccinated and behaved. If they fight with other animals or chase chickens or ducks you may want to test this upon your arrival. Unfortunately, you must keep them on leash at all times. Our County does have a leash law, and should property🌱🌹🌻🚜🚗📬🗑or animals🦌🐂🐏🐐🐰🦃🦆 be damaged or harmed you will be held responsible. For example, if your dog kills a chicken, you buy the chicken🐓🐔🐥. If they harm a horse🐎 or donkey🐴, you are responsible for ALL vet fees. Also, be aware we have coyotes, osprey, hawks, as any rural area does. Small animals must be suprevised. We are not responsible for acts of nature. The barn is beautiful and you are welcome to take photos, however, you are NOT permitted in the barn without supervision. Absolutley NO smoking or fire near the barn. It is over 100 years old and built by my great grand family and is irreplaceable. SPECIAL FEATURE: As I am just beginning the camp on site experience I offer several options and additional services. #1. Some find out after arriving that I teach NC Concealed Carry Handgun Classes. If you wish to participate in a class, it is preferred that you register before the day of the class. I will post classes on this site so that campers will know there will be shooting in the late afternoon. Some chose to camp on other weekends, some choose to go out to eat during those times, and some don't mind either way. #2. I am also much in favor of work for camp site. Some have asked to do clean up or other small jobs for the priviledge to camp. So far this has worked out well, with one exception. Please do not accept an offer to take on a task that you do not know how to do. Example, pulling weeds or trimming if you do not know what a weed verses flower looks like. LOL #3. There is plenty of firewood, see photos, here laying around and some trees down that will make great firewood (bring your own cutting tools.) We also sell firewood by the bundle. #4. Being a camper here gives you the privilege of fresh veggies and fruits that are in season, as well as fresh free range eggs. MAJOR POINT: You must remember this is a working farm and our duties and responsibilities for the farm come first. You must abide by the boundaries. *see map* The creek is the back boundary and should never be crossed onto my neighbors. I will not tolerate any disrespect to my neighbors, what so ever. No! the roosters don't have an off button, neither does the jacka... donkey! When it is hay cutting time, we will cut hay. If you want to hike the property, feel free, know the boundaries and bring a machete to cut your way by the creek/stream in some areas. We have thistle trees and briars, you are welcome to cut all you wish as you go. There are spiders, bugs, and snakes etc. Black snakes, king snakes, runners, and whip snakes belong here and we ask that you do not kill them. Copperheads are here as qell and if you see one, come get me and I will dispatch it for you. .

Taylor’s land was the perfect spot for our midway stop on our roadtrip, not far off the highway and the land itself was gorgeous. Our dog was able to run around off leash, huge plus after hours of driving. The toilet was clean. There were paths through the woods for us to stretch our legs. And our host met us to show us where to set up and could not have been sweeter. Great place to camp!!

I had such an amazing experience car camping at Lucky Farms. This was my very first time camping and this was a great start to my camping adventures. Taylor and Marty were fantastic hosts and so gracious. I felt safe and comfortable here so I was able to get a good nights rest. If you love stargazing (like me) you will love this place with beautiful views of the moon, stars, and sunset/rise. This is the perfect place for campers traveling solo or as a couple/family. My dog loved the open field, but I arrived a bit later than I intended and I didn’t get a chance to explore the trails and other amenities, so I will be booking another stay here with my dog in the future. I would definitely recommend Lucky Farms to any camper looking for a great place to camp. :)

Weekend Trip to Adin`s river cabin

If you're looking for fancy, bells and whistles this isn't for you. If you're looking for privacy, peace and serenity in a rustic cabin then you found it. The cabin is small but cozy. The cabin does have hot water, but only for a couple minutes. It has a decent size sink in the kitchen. The bathroom is tiny and not for the costraphibic, but it's nice having something indoors. There also an outhouse. Adin offers heat for an extra fee if you ask. We didn't use it, it was chilly at night, but still warmer than tent camping. The rd to the cabin in narrow and a little steep, but we made it in and out with two wheel drive. The property terrain itself is pretty rugged and steep(sometimes slippery) with cliffs. I would say younger children need good supervision venturing if you bring them and it wouldn't be suitable for people with mobility issues. If you have children I would bring a baby gate for the upstairs loft, as it's an open entrance and exit at the ladder stairs, which are steep. Room for extra tents in site. There's tons of deck space here with three decks and amazing views from the top. The sounds of the rapids and the frogs are so serene. The river is beautiful and clear with plenty of room. There's also some trails on the property. Sadly you can see some of the damage caused by flooding from the hurricane. Our little family enjoyed our stay here. Adin and his wife were kind and helpful. What a blessing to own a beautiful piece of paradise. Thank you for sharing it.

My best friend wanted to celebrate her birthday in nature, and this spot has been on my Hipcamp bucket list so we booked it for a girls’ trip, and it did not disappoint! The hosts make you feel welcomed while still giving you complete privacy. I’m honestly surprised this place isn’t listed under the stargazing category because it felt like we were in a dome, we saw so many constellations plus Jupiter and Saturn! The farm is clean, beautiful, and peaceful. The animals were adorable, but Jack was the star of the trip his perfectly timed laugh kept us cracking up all weekend. The greenhouse was awesome, but the outdoor shower was the true winner for all of us. The products were top-tier and the water pressure/temperature were perfect! This is a true hidden gem. We walked the on-site trail to Abbott’s Creek it’s HUGE, definitely kayak ready, and even good for fishing. The massive cypress trees along the water are breathtaking. We’re already planning more trips here because it’s perfect for everyone: families, couples, friend groups, or solo travelers. You don’t have to worry about ice, wood, or charcoal since you can buy them on-site, and if you don’t want to cook, you’re less than 5 miles from food and gas stations. Plus, so many attractions are nearby right now you can even visit the troll less than 20 minutes from the cabin! Highly recommend bringing a telescope. Thank you N & D for hosting us 10/10!

My family & I loved Adin’s cabin. It was perfect for us to escape the fast city life for the weekend. We walked the creek bank, searched for worms, tried fishing.. but had no luck. Mr. Adin said Helene had taken most of the fish. The water was crystal clear, & the sound of the water moving had me mesmerized. The kids enjoyed watching movies upstairs in the loft, & they had plenty to keep them busy. We can’t wait to come back in the Summer. Thanks again Adin for having us! The Turner Family 🥰

The trails throughout the woods light up at night which made my daughter smile for hours on end. She especially loved the rope swing and visiting the horses!. Don’t skip this spot in your search. We love Luck Farms!!!! We've been here multiple times and each time gets better and better. The owners are always improving the farms aesthetics. The sites are all wonderful. We've stayed at each of their sites on different occasions. The kids love the swings and the trails. We were able to enjoy our outdoor adventures and created wonderful memories.
