Coffee is always free. :) I have fire pits, tables an, if I am home, I have a super cute corgi that roams around the property throughout the day. If you spot me outside feel free to say hi or ask any questions about the area. I love helping guests find new places to explore. You will be about 8 minutes to DuPont State Forest (my favorite hiking and biking area) which has miles and miles of hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails. The entrance to Pisgah National Forest is about 15 minutes away as well so it's a convenient drive to visit the forest and drive up to the Blue Ridge Parkway. I also own a company that guides "coffee hikes" to local waterfalls in DuPont State forest. You can find more about that in the photo descriptions. :) Please note!! My road up to my driveway is steep and bumpy. It’s only 0.3 miles up but bumpy. You don't need four wheel drive but higher ground clearance is recommended. (I have had small cars make it up but it is a bit intimidating if you are not used to driving in the mountains). if you have a small car just go slow. :) ------- Larger group? Want an indoor bath and shower?? If you are planning a larger group camping retreat and want to book the entire campground (including the main house with indoor shower, restrooms, and full kitchen and spare bedroom) I can make that happen for $500 a night. We truly cannot say enough good things about these hosts or this property! They welcomed me and my little family with more kindness than we’ve ever experienced traveling or even near home. I’ve been through a lot emotionally and physically, and we came hoping to heal they made us feel safe, cared for, and supported. From leaving an apple for my son when he qhickly needed some fiber, to helping with groceries and packages, to lending us a propane fire pit and giving my little one a tiny shovel, their kindness never stopped. We honestly felt like God placed us on their property for a reason. We are forever grateful. The property is immaculate with beautiful views. Even with a nearby road, it was incredibly quiet- early mornings and nights were almost ethereal, like being deep in the country. The pavilion was wonderful, and river access just steps away was perfect for skipping rocks and listening to the peaceful water. We also loved the community garden and the kind neighbors. Star gazing during the solar storm was completely amazing because of the extremely low light pollution from any cities. SHOOTING STARS GALORE! Ceaser's head was only minutes away and so was Cup & Saucer coffee shop that had amazing pumpkin spice lattes and an allergy friendly quiche! This stay was full of warmth and peace. These hosts truly feel like family to us, and because of them, we now want to move to the area. We will never forget our time here and highly, highly recommend staying with them. ❤️

My husband and I loved this whole camping experience! The tent is super spacious with a beautiful view of the creek. We'd wake up to the sound of happy ducks playing in the water too. I have back problems and was worried about the bed at first, but man! It was SO comfortable. I was even able to use the swing yoga rig at the pavilion to do some decompression for my back. Vicki was so kind and very communicative with any and all questions. I also loved all the little signs that give detailed instructions for any and every thing. 100/10 can't wait to go back!

My parents bought the 120 acre property in the 1960s. I started clearing and building the campsite in 2019. Watch the sun rise on one side of Troublesome Gap and watch it set on the other side.  There is a circle drive for 2 teardrop / squaredrop or pop up campers and plenty of spots to pitch tents.   There are also great spots to hang your hammock.   Camp where my family camps.  My parents bought the property in the 1960s and we have camped up here, hiked, hunted, and cut firewood many weekends.  We decided to share the property so you can enjoy camping up here too! The property is in a remote location where you can enjoy the wildlife and the cooler temps in the summer.  You'll have 3 acres all to yourself.  The closest grocery store is an hour away but the Trust General Store with a restaurant and gas approximately is 7 miles away.  There is also a burger joint (Dave's 209) on the way to the Trust General Store.   This camping site is in a remote area and the nearest neighbor about 1/2 mile away.  Max Patch is about 25 minutes away and features beautiful hiking. The quaint town of Marshall is about 30 minutes away.  Asheville is about an hour away. The campsite is easily accessible from Baltimore Branch Road.  However Baltimore Brand Road (public road) is steep in places and we don't recommend an RV bigger than a popup camper.   If you are pulling a trailer you'll really want to consider having 4wd. If you aren't used to driving on steep dirt mountain roads, you may want to bring your 4wd vehicle. If you have a 2wd vehicle, then you'll want to come to the site via Big Pine Road.
