1 night at Bear Creek Tee-Pee Retreat
amazing! so close to town yet very secluded. The space was well taken care of and the whole place takes on a whole new vibe at night❤️ I am a lighting installation artist and the lighting at night was 10/10. The host was so very accommodating and answered all my questions (which was a lot). I will definitely be coming back! This space is a true gem. Thank you to the hosts for such a fantastic space and hospitality!

This was an awesome little spot. Two tee pees in the fields and 3 camping spots in the woods. The communal fire pit and stage are awesome. Love the cool rainbow last lights in the stage. Also very pretty colored accent lights surrounding the field perimeter. Very cool. Will come again.

Weekend Trip to Container Experience
Everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable time!! Efficient use of space to provide all utensils necessary for food prep and a prefect evening. Or great dining just 1 mile away. A relaxing spacious outdoors patio for enjoyment.

We made a super last-minute Hipcamp stop on our way to Uwharrie National Forest and ended up finding a hidden gem! Jodi was amazing with communication, even though we booked so late. The long driveway to the campsite was peaceful, and we were greeted by a couple sweet pups and the nicest neighbor ever—weed-eating his pond, drink in hand, cracking jokes, and telling us all about his geese. Even got a “cheers!” from some folks by a campfire as we drove by. Everyone we met was so friendly and genuine—it just felt good.
When we got to the campsite—WOW. Absolutely beautiful. Jodi met us with helpful info and the warmest welcome (even though I showed up as the hot mess express after a long haul with 4 special needs kiddos through I-40 rush hour!). Her husband even came over and offered us a different site that better fit what we were trying to do—letting the kids try sleeping in their own tent!
The teepee was already booked (next time, it’s mine!), but the whole place is set up with so much care—string lights, heated outdoor shower, CLEANEST porta-john I’ve ever seen, hammocks, water dispensers, lawn games, fire pits, grills—you name it.
It’s a little walk to the bathroom, but everything felt completely safe. I even felt totally fine walking alone with my 4-year-old daughter—which is something I never do at most state parks or campgrounds. That alone says a lot about how safe and peaceful this place is.

Weekend Trip to Container Experience
We enjoyed beautiful sunsets at this fun Beatle’s- themed tiny house community. Kathy had everything we needed there, and those staying in other units were friendly. It was perfect for our Spring Break college tour trip, being close to Elon, Chapel Hill, and Duke.

We tent camped for a night during a basketball tournament and had the place to ourselves. The pooch is super friendly and greeted us upon arrival and in the morning. The teepees looked cool. Great little spot to crash for the night. The only downside was that we could hear some loud cars occasionally through the night. A little white noise playing on the cell phone solved 95% of that.

Weekend Trip to Bear Creek Tee-Pee Retreat
Staying in the Tee Pee was so much fun!
There was no electricity ( which we knew in advance) no a hike to the bathroom/ shower making it feel like you were in the wilderness
The weather was great , the host was available if needed
Recommend bringing the little ones, they would have a great time

So fun! Very responsive hosts and we had the place to ourselves. The movie night was magical and we had a lot of fun lounging in hammocks, exploring the campsites and playing board games at the picnic table. The rustic tent was comfortable and the shower was nice! They could use some new table umbrellas, and the walk to the porta potty might not be great for someone with more limited mobility, but we were fine! The place would be great for a small group to enjoy together as the picnic table and fire pit are near a nice sized field in between the tipis and the campsites.

Weekend Trip to Bear Creek Tee-Pee Retreat
A very cool experience! The teepee was comfortable. Had electricity- which we didn’t realize we’ll have.. or we would have delight a heater since it got really cold at night.
The gas fireplace made it to a very nice atmosphere in the evening to lay in bed and read and sing with the kids.

Weekend Trip to Container Experience
I hosted some friends for my birthday at The Container Experience. We’d rented two of the three containers for 6 guys. It was a great trip, and we mostly used the containers for cooking and sleeping, spending most of the time outside in the common area and by the firepit. Practically, we fit 2 guys in each container (1 on the bed and 1 on the couch) and the other two camped on the lawn. Luckily we had perfect weather the whole weekend, as it would have been hard to enjoy good company if we’d all had to fit into the container! The kitchenette was sufficient for heating food up, and I’d also brought a cast iron and camp stove for more cook-ability outdoors. The best part was the availability of a hot shower right inside, and the large concrete pad for hanging around outside. We were surprised that there are other rentable units on the same property, so it felt more like a campground with lots of different groups in proximity. But everyone was kind and respectful, and the weekend was well worth it. I plan to go back sometime soon with my family!
