We carved our 43 acre horse farm out of wild swampy land in 2007 and finished the barndeminium in 2008. We started with Hipcamp 6 years ago and enjoy meeting new people. My husband is retired from the Air Force and works full time doing the chores. I retired May 2024 from being a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner at Womack Army Medical Center. I have a side hobby making homemade jams, pickles and flavored goat cheese spreads. We love the peacefulness of where we live...although the weather chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, guinea fowl, peacocks, goats and horses do get a little loud come feeding time. We have different sites, please read each description or message me before you book a stay. All the sites have an 8pm latest check in unless you've stayed with us before. With the cold snap we have been experiencing the RV water source will freeze up over night. Please message me before booking the RV. We are constantly looking for ways to upgrade or make our farm more fun to visit.

If you are here for the beach, the closest beach and also our favorite is Cherry Grove Beach, only a 30 minute drive. There are a few kayak rental companies we can connect you to if you'd like and we know all the local spots for adventure, food and shopping. Pick a hammock and relax listening to the birds, we also have an outdoor kitchen to prepare food and community firepits to gather around. We had such a peaceful and restorative stay at Alissa’s land. From the moment we arrived, it was clear how much love and care have gone into creating this little sanctuary. Seth and Alissa have truly built a beautiful “fortress” of calm ~ a place that feels tucked away from the noise of everyday life. What stood out most was the incredible attention to detail throughout the property. Every corner feels thoughtfully designed to help guests relax and unwind. The serenity here is genuine; we spent our days enjoying the quiet beauty of the land, with our son and furbabies completely at ease. The hospitality was warm and genuine, and the breakfast options were a real highlight ~ delicious, comforting, and made with care. The treehouse is very well thought out and if you’re a seasoned camper is pretty much luxury accommodation. We enjoyed 2 nights and wanted for nothing. We were also givin a kayak to use and ice for our time. A great place to escape with little distractions to unplug and unwind.

We had such a great time at this treehouse stay on Hipcamp! The whole experience felt like a little adventure—being out on the island was absolutely amazing and so peaceful. Jeff, the owner, was fantastic—super friendly, helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed from start to finish. The kids had an incredible time exploring, playing, and just enjoying being outdoors. It’s one of those trips they’re still talking about! Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for something unique, relaxing, and fun for the whole family.

Weekend Trip to The Fern Getaway

We had a wonderful stay! Everything felt thoughtfully planned and genuinely welcoming. The hosts were warm and attentive, and we loved meeting the animals on the property, including a momma cow and calf and several goats. It added to the charm of the stay. A wagon was provided at the parking area to help move our gear. Incredibly helpful! Clearly marked light paths through the woods made navigating after dark easy. The fire ring was set with enough wood for our first night, and the welcome note, trail mix, water, coffee, and kitchen items were generous, hospitable touches. The tent itself was beautifully done—tastefully decorated, cozy, and well equipped with everything we needed. The king-size bed was very comfortable, as were the feather pillows. A heater kept the tent warm despite nighttime temperatures in the 20s, though winter guests may want to bring an extra blanket (we were glad we did). We traveled with our two dogs. The off-leash freedom was especially appreciated—it made the experience even more relaxing for all of us. We highly recommend the breakfast option. Alissa prepared a healthy, delicious meal of bacon, eggs, bread with butter and jam, yogurt with fresh berries and toppings, and the best oats we’ve ever tasted. The only minor issue was the distance to the loo in the middle of the night, but it didn’t detract from an otherwise excellent stay. We highly recommend The Fern to anyone looking for a peaceful, well-hosted glamping experience.

1st time camping here and it was wonderful. Staff is extremely attentive and nice. Very laid back and unstressful which is really what your looking for on a weekend getaway to recharge from the day to day. The glamping tent we booked was extremely clean and comfortable overlooking the river making it very tranquil. If you bring children, the site has a myriad of events and activities to keep them busy and having fun. The whole facility is extremely well kept and a lot of thought and effort was put in to create the appropriate holiday theme of the season (we were there late Oct and it looked fabulous). We are definitely going to book another stay there especially with all the warm weather activities they have like kayaking and tubing. We might consider one of thier more excluded camping sites that they offer. Very much recommend checking it out whether old or young.

This was a great experience! The yurt was awesome and the hosts had everything you would need to enjoy yourself. It rained for the 2 days we were there, but the yurt stood strong with no leaks. I loved listening to the rain on the tent at night. The short walk to separate cottage had a fully equipped kitchenette, washer/dryer, and the bathroom was huge with a fantastic waterfall shower head. We had a small issue with the washer that just a phone call to the hosts was made, and they were there in minutes to fix it. It is located within 5 miles to the beach and was just a short drive to great waterfront restaurants! We will definitely be back! I highly recommend The Boho Hideaway!
