We have always enjoyed quiet secluded campsites, river floats and sitting by the river. After years of looking all over the mountains for a river property we could call our own, our favorite spot on the river came up for sale. It just so happened it was nearly halfway between where we both grew up. After many sleepless nights worrying if we could succeed or not (it was much larger than properties we had been looking for), we bought it! Our favorite spot on the river was virtually inaccessible by any way other than floating. But after hundreds of hours of hard work, we think we have developed a place where others too can enjoy the things we do about the property. We dream big and Tellurian remains a work in progress, but we feel we have created a place where folks can enjoy the peacefulness of nature, the river and incredible views. Naming our campground proved to be one of the most challenging tasks throughout the process of developing it. After many ideas and brainstorming sessions as a family, we decided to go with Tellurian. Learn more about this land: Welcome to The High Land: A private, drive-up, mountainside platform for tent(s)!  About the property You will have our entire 14 acre property to yourself which features some amazing mountain views and is adjacent to state lands for exploration.  To access the site you will drive approx. 15 minutes up a gravel road. Overall we are located about ~30 minutes from I-40 and about 25 min to Marion & Morganton, NC.   For recreation you can access South Mountains Gamelands which is adjacent to the property. You can also drive to South Mountains State Park which is only 15 minutes away. Lake James State Park is 35 minutes away and offers great recreation potent entail as well as Linville Gorge which is 45-60 minutes away. About the listing We offer two connected 8x16' tiers with center posts for hanging a tarp or setting up tents. You can see in our photos how a tent would fit on the platforms, there is plenty of space and truly amazing views right from your tent door. The site features a fire pit and an outhouse.  Some amenities offered at the site: -Fire pit with grill attachment available  -Pit toilet outhouse -No water provided, please bring your own for drinking and cooking -No cooking or kitchen supplies provided Additional things to note NOTE: Low clearance vehicles are not recommended, but 4 wheel drive is not necessary. The road up the mountain is terraced in places. We do not offer wifi and cell reception is limited, depending on your carrier, so make sure to plan ahead. We do not offer potable water or kitchen supplies at this time. Pets are allowed.

Neal Creek Primitive camping by the creek is located on private property. The two large campsites are approximately 300 feet apart and are located right beside the running creek. Our second New camping site "Back Forty Camping" is located on our adjacent horse farm property, just across from Neal Creek camping! Plenty of shaded area's. Learn more about this land: We are only 1/2 a mile from the Interstate 85. So bring your tents, campers or your small RV and come and setup down by the babbling Neal creek, or rent our private covered camper located on the horse farm. Build a nice fire in the fire pits. The firewood is provided, just bring your fire starter. The Neal Creek campsites are semi-wooded areas with plenty of shade. They are very large private, peaceful and quiet sites. The Back Forty Camping is semi-wooded area with plenty of privacy!  View the stars at night, relax during the day or if you are into biking or hiking, go to the Overmountain Victory trail located about 15 minutes away and enjoy the 6.7 mile loop around Lake Whelchel right off I-85. Local attractions: Biking, Hiking, Climbing and Horse trails - Kings Mtn National Park, Kings Mtn State Park, Crowder's Mtn State Park, Overmountain Victory Trail Segment - Lake Whelchel. Two Kings Casino is just a 10 minute trip right up Interstate - 85, exit 5 Convenient stores/restaurants within minutes from site.

We love staying at Corner Pine. We can pull our camper right up to the deck. We cook and enjoy hanging out. We were given firewood and some snacks for us and our pup. The surrounding area is great, whether you are looking to hike or enjoy the views. The bathrooms are always clean! We will be back.

Site 1 had an unobstructed view of the open meadow that sloped down to the river that was hidden beyond the trees. This Hipcamp was a great place to relax and do nothing because of its remote location in between towns and its distance from most anything. We didn’t use the river because the rains had the water level higher than we expected and the folks immediately across the river seemed to be having some kind of substantial multi tent gathering.

Great communication and an excellent site, and quiet. It can be tricky to get a good downhill run to the dump station, depending on where you park. If you watch the side of the hill late at night, you might see some blue fireflies down low.

We loved camping on Nate’s land! It was spacious, clean, quiet, and had everything we needed. The additional add on amenities were great. We added the hot tub, outdoor kitchen, and the WiFi. Super fun to have the access to the outdoor area. Close proximity to town and about 20 min to everything. We would definitely visit this site again!

Grateful to have found this gem! We prefer smaller campsites sites as we want to feel like we are getting away from the crowds. This site has 7 spots and although all were full this weekend, everyone that was there was quiet and respectful. It was truly a relaxing weekend! We walked the dogs to the river a few times a day (on leash) and they got to wade in the water. The First Broad River was such a peaceful place. This time of year, the swallowtail butterflies were fluttering everywhere up and down the river, making it a magical sight. The campground was very well maintained and the views were absolutely stunning. Thank you Jud, for being such an amazing host. We will be back, next time with our friends!

This was a pretty nice spot! We included the hot tub which was perfect after long days of hiking or enjoying some coffee in the morning. Only about a 20 minute drive from the Blue Ridge Parkway and lots of other areas for a good hike not to far away! Saw a turkey in the woods and lots of birds singing to you in the morning.

Weekend Trip to Tellurian Family Campground

My wife and I made the Tellurian our first trip with our new camper. Everything went extremely smoothly and I think it is because of how well the campground is set up and maintained. When we first arrived we backed into our spot (#3) and I was happily surprised to find that the site was dead level. Getting everything hooked up was a breeze and water, sewer, and electric all worked perfect our entire trip. I cannot overstate how amazing the view was from our site and my wife and I barely wanted to leave our chairs the entire weekend because of how unbelievable it was. We met Jud on Saturday and he was extremely nice and even mentioned a second viewpoint for the sunset that was an absolute knockout. We went down to the river and the accesses were easy to walk and well defined. The water was too cold to get in but I could see it being a great spot to spend time in the summer. The bathhouse was very clean and the layout gave plenty of privacy. Overall we had a 10/10 experience and we will certainly be coming back.
