Everything was perfect. We loved our little glam open air bedroom. The time was purely magical. We also upgraded to have breakfast. The fresh eggs and delicious bacon were top drawer!!

We had such a lovely and memorable stay at Ancient Spring Farm! We really enjoyed the forage tour, learning about edible and non-edible plants was fascinating! And the animal tour with all the bay goats was a great bonus! Rebecca is such a lovely human, warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable! We had breakfast under the pecan trees with fresh eggs and vegetables from her farm, and even brought some eggs home with us! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet, immersive farm experience. We felt truly welcomed and connected to the land.

We really enjoyed our stay at Abbott Creek Farm! The property was peaceful, spacious, and surrounded by beautiful scenery. The host was kind and responsive, and we felt very welcome throughout our stay. We especially loved seeing the farm animals at sunset, it added such a sweet, grounding touch to the experience. The outdoor shower in the morning sun was a highlight too, so refreshing and relaxing. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a calm, nature-filled getaway!

Cheryl is amazing!! This is the perfect place to camp, it's quiet and secluded. The farm stand is open on the weekend I got a bunch of goodies! We got to pet the sheep and donkeys and they were so friendly. I would definitely come back here!!

We had the best time camping at Harmon Creek. Cheryl’s entire family was so welcoming, and they sold everything we needed at their little camp store, including freshly baked treats on our last morning. Our site was clean and private and shady. We were initially worried about the heat and bugs, but surprisingly neither were an issue! We hope to return soon!

This was an amazing camp site! The kids absolutely loved playing in the creek and nearby waterfall. The owners were friendly and hospitable. They even had delicious homemade cinnamon rolls one morning! We loved falling asleep to the sound of running water and forest sounds. Once was not enough time to explore the farm, and we'll definitely be back again to take in more of the views.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay here very much. A thunderstorm dropped over 3” of rain in under an hour the day before our stay and the campsite we were booked for had some flooding issues so Cheryl upgraded us to a secluded spot beside the pond. We purchased a couple of steaks from the farm store and they were wonderful. My wife thoroughly loved the farm animals. (Especially the donkey) We will visit again.

Wow! We are so blessed to have found this beautiful site. We loved wandering and exploring the land, picking fresh blackberries, and saying hi to the animals (the donkey is our great friend!). Thank you Natalie & Darrel for being such awesome hosts - even though we arrived very late at night, we were given good instructions and left a lantern to find our lovely cabin. Hoping to come back and spend more time here, it is a true gem.

I couldn't possibly put into words just how perfect this site and these hosts were. The creekside camp site is quiet and out of the way. The bathroom is so nice, and well stocked. The candles were a wonderful touch that made evenings by the fire easy. We saw so so many bunnies just from our site. The stroll over to the creek was easy, and had the most adorable little bench to sit and relax. We loved feeding the pigs and Jack the donkey. The stocked greenhouse was a great addition. Being able to borrow or buy nearly anything you could possibly need. The property is beautiful and an inspiration for all. By and far the outdoor shower was a life saver. Being able to clean off after a long sweaty day kayaking was a blessing. And being able to break camp and get clean made the long drive home pleasant. Natalie and Darrel truly have thought of everything. And this site has the most friendly, homey atmosphere imaginable. Bring some extra lanterns along as it gets dark. And make sure to enjoy the swimming hole 10 minutes down the road. Thank you so much for everything 🙂. Give Jack a cookie for us. We will be back.

We loved camping on Cheryl’s land. We had site one right in the creek which had plenty of room, privacy, trees and grassland. My kids loved visiting the donkey, sheep, and chickens. They have amazing ice cream and a variety of meats to purchase. Cheryl is very friendly and goes above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable! We would love to camp here again!

Weekend Trip to Kohler Farms-A Shire Horse...

This is, hands down, the best spot we've found using Hipcamp! The hosts are incredibly friendly and offer a ton of free firewood, a port-a-porty and garbage cans. The camping site is humongous and we enjoyed all the fish and crayfish in the creek. The bestest part is the 2 four legged puppers that hang out with you! We loved our stay soooo much, we will back many more times down the road!

The Old House

While we are happy to be a late-night crash spot for after shows at the Haw River Ballroom, we hope you stay a minute to walk the fields, hang in the hammocks, sit by the pond, or take a swing from the branches of our 200 year old White Oak tree. You'll come down our curvy driveway through the trees, and see our event barn on the left. In front of the barn is a communal space for campers to enjoy with a great view. Our farm is a beautiful, private 25 acres with an 1830s house, outbuildings, animals, orchards, gardens, pastures, old trees, wildlife habitat, a spring, and woods. Here you can relax; watch nature; meet our chickens, goats, horse, cats, and dog; learn about archaeology, history, plants, and mead making; and get eggs and homegrown seasonal food. Listen to birdsong and watch clouds during the day, wander a path through our ca. 5 acres of woods, see fireflies in the evening, and star watch at night. Nearby are hiking, horseback riding, historical sites, fishing, antiques, wineries, shooting, and more. We are located in a rural area and have many different domesticated and wild animals so you may hear diverse animal noises and see or smell animal poop, although we try to keep things clean and tidy. Our neighbors have dogs, cattle, and chickens/roosters and occasionally shoot guns during daylight hours (one neighbor is a sporting club with skeet shooting and hunting dogs) but typically our farm is a quiet and peaceful place. We mow regularly and our rooster and chicken ladies wander far and wide eating bugs but, in the summer, they can't get every mosquito and tick so please plan accordingly for your own comfort.

Our farm is an agritourism/sheep farm that offers seasonal events, educational workshops, a petting zoo, B&B, farm store, snack bar and camping! We are a working farm during the week so we only allow camping to occur on the farm during the week as well as weekends. The rest of the farm offerings are not available until the weekend. We don't have hookups, so bring a generator if you need it. If you need to fill up your RV water tank, we charge $10. Each of the 3 sites has a fire ring and picnic table. A Grill Pavilion is available to rent for $20 extra. See photos. Propane, grill, table and party lights included. We allow check-ins during the week after 12 noon, perfect for folks passing through and just need a safe and quiet place to park for the night and not interested in visiting the farm store, the barnyard or the rest of the farm, which are closed during week. If you are looking for interaction with the animals, or shop our farm store, book on a weekends when we open the Farm 10am-4pm for the public to visit our petting zoo, Farm Store and Snack Shack. We even offer feed so you can feed our sheep, donkeys, chickens, ducks and geese! While we are dog-friendly, we do not allow dogs outside the camping area. Instead, we offer a 1.5 acre piece of property adjacent to the camping sites where you can allow your dogs off-leash. No extra charge. Our camping area is a large grassy field that will accommodate multiple tent campers, travel trailers, and RVs under 30' with room to turn around, stake your area, and not feel crowded. There is also 1 regularly maintained porta potty located in this area.
