Weekend Trip to Mountain Creek Rest

A little bit of Shangri-La in Western North Carolina. Campsite was immaculate with amazing setting next to a beautiful stream which provides great background noise, not that any is needed because it is very private. The water also helps keep the surrounding air cooler as it was at least 5-10 degrees cooler than Robbinsville which is 20 minutes away. Met the owner Brian who is a skilled carpenter and it shows in the work he has done to the campsite. Outhouse only (very clean), bring your own water and wood.

This was our first time booking through Hipcamp and it exceeded our expectations! The campsites had everything you needed and were well maintained with the creek right behind. The entire property was beautiful and the hosts were lovely! They brought out fresh eggs in the morning and had fresh firewood available right at the sites. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend to everyone!

We loved our stay at Melissa’s camp site! It was very clean and each spot has direct access to the creek. The owners provide fresh eggs every morning. They were wonderful host. We will definitely be staying again!

I have booked Hipcamps that cost twice as much and not half as nice. We absolutely loved our stay at the Island Site. Brian has put so much time and love into these camp sites. We will definitely be back. When we camped in early May, no issues with mosquitos, but bring some repellant as it gets warmer would be safe. Bring some dry kindling for your fire. This is a very tropical area, so everything on the ground is always a bit moist. If your tent requires stakes, bring some line so you can stake off of the level platform.

Great place to camp. Tent or trailers etc this place would work great for either. We had rain when we were there but thankfully Melissa allowed us to move sites to one with a large car port covering which worked out great. Otherwise we would have been stuck in car/tent all night! Instead we were able to hang out outside under cover. Creek view and creek sound is awesome. Bathhouse clean. Definitely plan to come back.

It is a beautiful property all the way from the cabin that I saw at the top of the ridge down to the Pigeon river. The fishing suffered from Helene’s rampage but everything seemed to be well on its way to a beautiful recovery.

2 nights at Mountain Creek Rest

Brian has created a beautiful oasis in the middle of the wild NC mountains! The Islandsite is surrounded by rushing mountain streams on either side. It hit the sweet spot of feeling both safe and private. And Brian hit the perfect balance of being welcoming and informative while also giving you space and privacy. My dog LOVED being able to wander the island off-leash and I loved hearing the roar of the water instead of the roar of engines chasing the Dragon nearby. The hiking was gorgeous, the bathroom clever and clean, and there are sweet little treasures (both man and nature made) to be found on the island. DO put Cedar Cove Church in your GPS and follow Brian's excellent directions from there, otherwise you will end up on Dirk (?) something road which is VERY sketching but doable. Smokey and I both thank you Brian for a wonderful time!

Weekend Trip to Pause || Eco-Retreat at Aramesh

I stayed at Lijahs Ridge with my dog, Bandit for 3 nights and could not have been happier. The site was absolutely beautiful with stunning views! There were no other campers while I was there and it felt like my very own private retreat. I enjoyed listening to the songbirds, the hoot owls and even the howling of coyotes at night but my absolute favorite were the horses that visited each evening as they made their way up and down the mountain, grazing along the way. I also came upon them while hiking at Tai Chi Hill while they were playing and it was a joy to watch. On my last day, they visited the campsite and stayed for over an hour. I think they may have fallen asleep as they stood very still for a long time with their eyes partially closed. The gelding is very curious and wants to investigate everything. I loved being able to interact with them. Tai Chi Hill is amazing but the best view is from the horse trail that winds on up the mountain so that you are looking down at the site. I enjoyed being able to hike without having to leave the property and saw a wide variety of plants and flowers including Trillium, Bloodroot, Woodland Stonecrop and May Apples in bloom. Jill and Sara are incredibly gracious hosts. It was a treat to get to meet them. There is a porta potty just below the site with a sink for hand washing and farther down the hill, fresh spring water is available. I will definitely be staying here again and can't recommend it enough!

Let’s start with the list of what I didn’t like: 1. the toilet paper roll was on backwards Now for things I loved: 1. there was toilet paper 2. there was a toilet… 3. in a very nice bathhouse 3. the trails were perfect for our dogs 4. the hot tub was super clean 5. there was convenient power I could go on. It was a really nice site, not far from a convenient store, but with ample privacy and many glamping features. Definitely a great choice!

Beautiful land and lovely hosts! The site was perfect for our entire family. The kids loved roaming the land and seeing the animals (especially cows on the other side of the river who decided to take a swim!). There was a campsite within eyesight but the sound of the river made it feel like we were the only ones there. We couldn’t hear another soul, just nature! Beautiful spot. Would definitely recommend.

MUST HAVE 4X4 OR AWD VEHICLE TO ACCESS MOUTAINTOP CAMPSITES. Property damage fee of $100 for 2WD vehicles not adhering to rule. 2WD vehicles must camp creekside, sites 1-6. NO AXES, HATCHETS, MACHETES ALLOWED ON THE PROPERTY. NO NAILS IN THE TREES TO HANG THINGS. It damages the tree and causes them to die. Keep pets on a leash, especially if they like to roam or have any aggressive behavior. Spacious camping lots, and great trout fishing along little snowbird creek which is on private property. Fishing privileges are actually written into property owners' deed on the purchase of land. Views that can bring a tear to a glass eye and relaxing sounds of the creek can be heard from anywhere on the property. Hundreds of Hiking trails in the area, many just a short distance from the property. Please be respectful of others' property and no trespassing signs. It’s a kinda bumpy mountain road to get there but it’s also like driving through an enchanted forest. The secluded location, peaceful and breathtaking views make this place a must-see adventure.

PLEASE NOTE, our rate is based on the number of vehicles in your group. The first vehicle is included in the nightly rate and admits 4 campers. WE CHARGE FOR ADDITIONAL CARS. The charge will be added to your booking once you select the number of vehicles at checkout. Please note that each additional car admits four campers. For EXAMPLE, 2 cars = 8 campers total. Coweeta Creek Campground

Coweeta Creek Campground has water, electric, and septic on Sites 1, 2, and 3 as well as a firepit and picnic table. The bathhouse allows for hot showers and flushing toilets. Site 4 is for tents or small pop-ups. Each site is gravel, shaded, and sits along the peaceful Coweeta Creek. The campground property has a large field for games (kickball, soccer, volleyball), as well as a flat 1/4 mile loop which you can view our mini homestead farm. We have chickens, bees, vegetable gardens, and a small fruit orchard. We recently added a 1/2 mile trail, called Turkey Foot Trail, through the wooded area. The campground is somewhat secluded (some neighbors across the creek), but only 15 minutes from Franklin, NC and 15 minutes from Clayton, GA with plenty of shopping/restaurants. Once you are at the campground you won't want to leave the beauty of the creek! Strong Wifi is available at all sites. Network password will be provided before arrival. Property History: Coweeta Creek Campground WAS a 20 site, thriving, family/church oriented campground from the 1970's that was later sold, then neglected. My family purchased in 2022 and are are opened a few camping sites for a more family friendly, intimate setting. *Please send us a message if you are interested in renting out the entire property for family reunions, birthdays, or other events. There is potential for 10 sites with water/electricity along the creek, but we don't advertise it!

This no ordinary campground. Pause is an adventure that will feel like you are exploring your own private mountain nature reserve. Aramesh is 120 acres of Blue Ridge heaven with something for every wilderness adventure seeker: unmatched mountain views, lush old growth forests, babbling brooks, and miles of trails for all skill levels. The property starts at 3700 ft altitude, with summit at 4500 ft on the Glades mountain ridge. We have only a few campsites on the vast property, so the wind in the trees and birds will be all you hear. Come and stay with us and be renewed! IMPORTANT: 4WD or AWD is required to access our property. There is a sometimes steep and windy gravel road into Pause. Please make sure your vehicle has 4WD or AWD before you book. Campsites: They are 3/4-1/4 mile from the entrance. Some are accessible by 4WD. There may be some vigorous hiking involved, but the views are worth it. The pads are various sizes. Let us know what the needs of your party are and we can help you choose from the available spots. We also have several more remote “off-menu” sites for those seeking a backpacking adventure - ask for more information if your are interested. Hiking: There are several miles of trails on the property. They range from an easy slope to very strenuous. The entire property is fenced so you won't easily get lost. Your climbing efforts will be amply rewarded by stunning views, especially at sunset. Trail maps are available upon request. On-Site Amenities: we provide a clean porta-potty and running water that is spring fed. We ask that you follow "Leave-No-Trace" procedures during your stay. Off-Site Amenities: If you choose to explore the area : we are a 10 minute drive from I-40 Exit 24. Asheville is 45 minutes away; Waynesville is 25 minutes away. Presnell's Grocery (highly recommended, family-owned store that sells locally farmed products) is 10 minutes away from the property entrance. The Ingles supermarket in Canton is a 15 minute drive. You will find every kind of fast food in that area. There are also several excellent local dining options in Canton, Clyde, and Waynesville which we are happy to recommend to you by request.

Riverside on the renowned fly fishing river, the Tuckasegee River, or ridge top on Cullowhee Mountain, elevation 3850'. There are improved camp sites, a yurt, or free range camping and hiking. The fall views are spectacular, wherever you decide to locate. We implement " Leave no trace" rules and welcome respectful 4wd access to our ridge top. We are currently endeavoring agroforestry techniques to respectfully harvest the bounties of the woodlands in our Living Mountain Farms online store. Our hope is to one day make this magical mountain sustain those who reside upon the reserve, and provide a most memorable stay for our guests!Destination Outdoors! DO IT!
