Wiseman Ridge is a boutique micro campground for RVs only, first opened in July of 2022. Our property adjoins the Blue Ridge Parkway in Linville Falls NC with easy access off NC 221. We offer 5 full hook up RV sites with views of Hawksbill, Table Rock and Humpback Mountains. Micro means we have only a handful of sites but that is where micro ends. Each site is expansive, with large areas to spread out and enjoy the views or play yard games. Unlike typical RV parks our sites are spread out on the ridge top and offer great views and lots of space.
Our campground offers a unique camping experience for the RV and outdoors enthusiast. All of our RV sites feature views of the surrounding peaks and have full hook ups with, water, septic and 30 or 50 amp power access, high speed wi-fi access at each site as well as a picnic table and in ground fire pits.
Wiseman Ridge provides the peace and quiet of nature at its finest, with easy direct access to the Blue Ridge Parkway by foot or by road. We are just a mile down the parkway from the entrance to the Linville Falls parking lot and picnic area, and 2 miles from Kistler Memorial Highway (Old NC 105) that provides access to the western rim of Linville Gorge and multiple trailheads.
Our campground is for conventional travel trailers and motorhomes only. We do not have bathroom or bathhouse facilities so we cannot allow campers that do not have a self contained bathroom that can hook up to a conventional RV sewer drain and no human waste is allowed in our trash receptacles.

This property is 180 acres of woods and mountains with streams and ponds.
Beautiful settings. If you like hiking in the mountains this will definitely hit the spot. YO can fish in the ponds it has blue gills and catfish. I also added grass carp there as part of weed management.
This used to be an abandoned farm which I want to bring back to life.
The site offers three luxury large Safari Style Tents and 4 Pioneer wagons.
All tents are far away from each other to provide privacy and freedom of going Wild (still remaining civilized in your manners and careful attitude to Nature around you).
Tent 1 is in the Forrest itself and it is pretty cook and serene.
Tent 2 is on the top of a rocky hill overlooking the forest.
Tent 3 is the most remote and closest to the ponds. It has most of the open space around it, and can be a great place for parties.
We are working on making the sites and the area more comfortable, but I do not want to make it a manicured park. I want it to remain wild and still offer comfortable stay.
The farm is work in progress. Eventually it will be an Ostrich farm. and have other animals too.
The closest town - Lenoir is about 12 miles away . Closest Grocery store (Dollar General) - about 3 miles away. Closest Gas station - 2 miles away.
Professional Tennis court, Basketball court and large kids playground are in a public park within - 5 minute drive.
Lenoir has restaurants, shopping, etc.
Hickory is a larger town about 25 minutes drive. Hickory Lake is a large reservoir with marina where you can rent a boat and it also offers a good game fishing.
Nice swimming beach access on Lake Hickory 13 miles ( 20 Minutes) from here: Lake Hickory Wittenburg access area (Wittenburg Access Area, 175 Wildlife Access Rd, Hickory, NC 28601)

You will have our entire 14 acre property to yourself which features some amazing mountain views and is adjacent to state lands for exploration.
To access the site you will drive approx. 15 minutes up a gravel road. Overall we are located about ~30 minutes from I-40 and about 25 min to Marion & Morganton, NC.
For recreation you can access South Mountains Gamelands which is adjacent to the property. You can also drive to South Mountains State Park which is only 15 minutes away. Thank you for checking out our place! We are Jud and Amanda Wortman. We have three children – Emma Grace and Baxter (twins) and Elena Jo. As a family, we enjoy canoeing, kayaking and camping. We live 9 miles from Tellurian on a family farm.
We have always enjoyed quiet secluded campsites, river floats and sitting by the river. After years of looking all over the mountains for a river property we could call our own, our favorite spot on the river came up for sale. It just so happened it was nearly halfway between where we both grew up. After many sleepless nights worrying if we could succeed or not (it was much larger than properties we had been looking for), we bought it! Our favorite spot on the river was virtually inaccessible by any way other than floating. But after hundreds of hours of hard work, we think we have developed a place where others too can enjoy the things we do about the property. We dream big and Tellurian remains a work in progress, but we feel we have created a place where folks can enjoy the peacefulness of nature, the river and incredible views.
Naming our campground proved to be one of the most challenging tasks throughout the process of developing it. After many ideas and brainstorming sessions as a family, we decided to go with Tellurian. We know it’s a bit different; that’s what we like about it. We think our place stands out and, after visiting Tellurian, we think you’ll agree it does too.

We loved camping here! We’re hoping we can come back soon! The site was level and clean. Jenny was an amazing host that was very generous. All the dogs at the campground were our kids favorite part! The proximity to the river was perfect for our kids where it was a short walk away to access to the river but not immediate so we didn’t have to worry about water safety with the little ones. The river itself is gorgeous. Hookups were well maintained. Definitely recommend.

The host and campground was really peaceful. The deck was a great place to cook meals and relax. My only issue was that the tent camping site had sharp gravel. I think that site was made for camper van.

Really enjoyed Trevor's property while up in the area for a weekend of trail riding. Trevor met us upon arrival to make sure we had everything we needed, super nice guy. The porta-potti was super clean as well. Will definitely stay again when back in the area.

The view is amazing! Has all the basics that are needed plus more. Toilet, power, and water on site which is always great. Property is in great condition. Also got to greet the farm cat on the day we left, such a sweetheart. I didn't get service until I got to the site but 5g was available. Me and my buddy had a great time!

Wonderful camping site and hosts. Absolutely beautiful creek. We panned for gold in the creek (more for the experience than the hope of finding gold haha). Clean port-o-potty, garbage can w bag was nice, comfy chairs and a picnic table provided. We loved the shelter area as a hang out spot since we couldn’t have a fire due to the burn ban. We brought our dog and kept him on his leash. Dianne mentioned she was dog sitting for a neighbor and that doggy was a little protective pf her driveway. The sweet dogs came up to visit a lot…which was fine with us. We just had to shoo them off to protect our dog and they listened. (My dog is a little nervous around some dogs)
We had to leave a day early because we didn’t feel like camping in the rain.
Great experience! We would come back!

This campground was the perfect stay to disconnect and enjoy nature. Jud was so very welcoming and even brought our dogs treats when we first arrived. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend. So many beautiful views and hikes.

Quiet peaceful mountaintop retreat. The road is a little bumpy and steep but well worth it. The showers and bathrooms were clean and my dog and I definitely enjoyed the on property trails.

My husband and I booked site 1 and our friends booked the other site. We had such a great time! Christian was incredibly kind, informative, and welcoming. We had full roam of this beautiful, quiet and peaceful property and enjoyed an unusually hot spring day playing in the river. Will definitely be back!

Grateful to have found this gem! We prefer smaller campsites sites as we want to feel like we are getting away from the crowds. This site has 7 spots and although all were full this weekend, everyone that was there was quiet and respectful. It was truly a relaxing weekend! We walked the dogs to the river a few times a day (on leash) and they got to wade in the water. The First Broad River was such a peaceful place. This time of year, the swallowtail butterflies were fluttering everywhere up and down the river, making it a magical sight. The campground was very well maintained and the views were absolutely stunning. Thank you Jud, for being such an amazing host. We will be back, next time with our friends!

My wife and I made the Tellurian our first trip with our new camper. Everything went extremely smoothly and I think it is because of how well the campground is set up and maintained. When we first arrived we backed into our spot (#3) and I was happily surprised to find that the site was dead level. Getting everything hooked up was a breeze and water, sewer, and electric all worked perfect our entire trip. I cannot overstate how amazing the view was from our site and my wife and I barely wanted to leave our chairs the entire weekend because of how unbelievable it was. We met Jud on Saturday and he was extremely nice and even mentioned a second viewpoint for the sunset that was an absolute knockout. We went down to the river and the accesses were easy to walk and well defined. The water was too cold to get in but I could see it being a great spot to spend time in the summer. The bathhouse was very clean and the layout gave plenty of privacy. Overall we had a 10/10 experience and we will certainly be coming back.

We had the most perfect camping getaway on this land. Trevor was extremely responsive and greeted us upon arrival. There are plenty of flat spots around the site to set up camp. We fit two 3-4 person tents around the site. This site was extremely dog friendly - room for the pups to explore off leash and no barbed wire or other hazards around. By far the cleanest bathroom we have ever experienced at a Hipcamp. The picnic table, fire-pit, grill, hammock hooks, and benches are an added bonus/level of comfort not every other Hipcamp offers. We will definitely be back!

The campsites were spaced out nicely so the other campers aren’t right up on each other. The view of the sky and the mountains in the distance was excellent. We didn’t have time to go down to see the river access since we only stayed one night so I can’t comment on that part. The bathrooms were nice and there was a common game room area which is probably nice to have when the weather takes a turn for the worst. Overall, I was very pleased.
