My property consists of a ridge running east to west with the access road running along the south border. the land slopes up to the ridge for about 300 feet, and then down to the river for about 800 feet. The south side of the ridge has a small pond close to the road. The rest is pasture, and an orchard and small vineyard. The north side of the ridge is old growth timber, and shady and cool. The two cabins are along the river. One is perched on a ridge over looking the river and the other is right on the river. The swimming hole is 30 feet from the lower cabin. There is room for a couple campsites along the river also. The south side of the ridge was a cotton farm decades ago, but was covered in timber when I bought it 12 years ago. The north side has been in timber for the known history of the property.

Weekend Trip to Adin`s river cabin

My family & I loved Adin’s cabin. It was perfect for us to escape the fast city life for the weekend. We walked the creek bank, searched for worms, tried fishing.. but had no luck. Mr. Adin said Helene had taken most of the fish. The water was crystal clear, & the sound of the water moving had me mesmerized. The kids enjoyed watching movies upstairs in the loft, & they had plenty to keep them busy. We can’t wait to come back in the Summer. Thanks again Adin for having us! The Turner Family 🥰

Weekend Trip to Rustic Appalachian Cabin

Super cute cabin! Had everything we needed for the weekend even a s’mores kit!! Host were extremely helpful when we got confused with the lock box. The view was great watching the sunrise with the fog over the trees, plenty of paths to walk if you don’t wanna go to the Stone Mountain trail. We wanted a quiet place to elope with some of our closest friends we got that and so much more. Check out was super easy would definitely recommend for a quiet romantic getaway or even a small family vacation! Pet friendly accommodations for the bestest of pets. I don’t know how much more I can recommend, if you’re on the fence take the leap you won’t regret it in the slightest. We looked a so many other options but ultimately kept coming back to this one every time and glad we did! Thank you so much to the amazing hosts for having us and allowing us to have this moment here it will never be forgotten

Weekend Trip to Gold River / camp + cabins

My first time at this camp site. I traveled on my motorcycle so having a tent ready to go helped me in not having to travel with a tent. The bed was very firm, which I liked and conveniently located near the bathrooms and shower. If you want to have a fire, there is a pit there for you and you can also go over by the stream which was nice. The road is near and does get a bit of traffic surprisingly but it didn't affect me sleeping. The showers and bathrooms were nice, clean, and well kept. Will definitely stay there again if I'm ever in the area again!!!

Weekend Trip to Stormbrew Farm

The site was easy to get to, yet quiet and private, down the hill from the rest of the farm. We sat on the platform and watched the sun set, then fireflies, and then a clear starry sky. Horses peeked over the fence in the morning. And with all this, a morning run to get some coffee took just 15 minutes. We'll happily come back.

The cabin was great! It was the perfect size for the 5 of us. It was appointed perfectly for just about every activity. The cornhole boards had lights for night play, the smores tackle box was a major hit with the kids, several fishing poles and tackle just in case. Forget your sunscreen and bug repellent; they've got you covered. Is it hotter than the surface of the sun in July; the A/C can keep up with that. Some work to do on vacation; ACTUAL high speed internet to the rescue. Everything was clean and fresh, the grill had propane, was clean, and had its own shelter. The back porch had a wonderful view of the pond. At night we could listen to the frogs croaking at each other for hours. We had such a great time and had zero worries about anything (except about leaving too soon!). We seriously could have stayed another week.

If your idea of the perfect vaca includes absolute solitude as you float in a river only hearing the sounds of nature, this is the place for you. It has multiple decks, a loft bedroom with a queen bed and window AC, and a daybed downstairs. Our large dog couldn’t get up and the stairs to the loft (the smaller one had no problem) which wasn’t an issue for us, but I know some dogs would make it your problem. We were able to keep the doors open allowing the dogs freedom to go in and out as they pleased without worrying about any neighbors. There were interesting trails to explore on the property. If you are the sort that prefers glamping, paved driveways, and hot tubs, this isn’t your place. If you want a little slice of heaven in nature, it fits the bill. To us it was perfection and we will definitely be back.

Definitely rustic. But that’s what we wanted. 4 adults and 4 dogs. We were only inside to sleep. The creek was great. And the host was great, really friendly!! We hiked at south mountain, which was great. We kayaked in the creek and paddled boarded, but if the water was lower this wouldn’t have been possible. Bonfires and great food with family. Dogs stayed in the creek more than on shore. Really Small indoor space, but plenty of space outside.

It’s not the Ritz, but it’s not the Spitz”—Adin’s words when he welcomed us to this peaceful, private, camping the easy way, river escape. Total privacy the whole stay—we floated, relaxed, and never saw another soul, even with a campground down the road. We drove a front-wheel-drive truck with no issues, though after rain, the private entry turned to Carolina mus, so we used Adin’s driveway instead with no problem. Becky’s store to the right has snacks and firewood (no alcohol); Polkville to the left has groceries and drinks.

Host Aiden showed me to the cabin when I arrived and responded to all my questions. The cabin, albeit rustic had a certain charm to it. The deck by the river was the highlight of my stay as I was able to relax with a book and watch my dog Obie swim in the river. The host sent me a message the next morning asking if we were okay, I so appreciated the check in. On my way out, my car got stuck due to my fault, Host Aiden quickly came to my rescue to help me get my car out of the mud, so thankful. I enjoyed the serenity of the area, walking around the property with my dog.

We loved our stay at Laurel Hill Haven! It was so comfortable and so convenient having running water for cooking and dishes. We absolutely loved this camping spot! Had everything we needed, and it was wonderful having a kitchen and shower. We had our dogs with us so we camped in our tent instead of using the provided camper (no pets allowed in the camper) and there was plenty of room to setup the tent and enjoy the amenities. Can't wait to return!
