Greenpoint Ferry stop is a few blocks away which will take you to midtown Manhattan in no time! When he wanted to sell his property he offered it to us for purchase at a fair price if we would not develop more than we needed to live here. We maintained the meadow adjacent to our property and have kept it as an agricultural site. We have had our son who is a permaculture expert develop an edible forest garden and a unique diversified small orchard so we can eat and share healthy organic fruits and vegetables while helping our environment and wildlife and educating others to do the same. It is expensive to live in Newtown but we love our property. We want to teach others to grow food from their land while helping to support us keeping our adjacent property agricultural and undeveloped. We are a space for BIPOC communal well-being and we host several events each year to nourish and celebrate BIPOC Earth workers. We always need help, so if you are willing to participate in a project during your stay, please indicate in your reservation. From weeding and turning compost, to planting trees and harvesting garlic, there are a number of ways to add your energy to the farm. We do not currently provide bathroom facilities. We ask guests to use a modest compost toilet The former site of an organic berry and lettuce farm, this beautiful getaway just north of Newburgh gives access to a seasonal creek and small swimming hole. Nearby is the Marlborough Farm Trail, brewing companies and wineries, orchards, U-Picks, parks on the Hudson River, and 15 minutes to the many hiking trails in Beacon.
