2 nights at Carpathia West
I took this trip with my adult son and I was as tranquil and a bounty of wildlife. The sunsets are great and you’re perch on a hill overlooking a lake so quite scenic. If you want to totally disconnect be at peace and rough it a little this is the place for you. There is a a generator for light, heat and a refrigerator. We took our own portable compost and a small rinse king system to wash up..
Cooking outside was a thrill for my son as well, we gather wood from the surroundings.
Konsztantine was very responsive and quite hospitable. Quick responses to whatever we asked. Best in class host. I will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

My son and I really enjoyed camping on Mike's property. It was tucked away and quiet. Mike was very supportive and kept the firewood coming for the cold temperatures. The entrance comes up quickly, but Mike's directions were spot on.
The hiking near the property was fantastic. Try Anthony's Nose; the hike was challenging, but the views were worth it.

Phoenix Landing is the optimal camping spot for my partner and I (and cat). Though it was just the two of us, we had no issues with the camp site and felt very safe in the area. We decided to camp out there while enjoying Halloween festivities along the Hudson. The forest/stream, on the property is beautiful and there are many trails to explore. We brought our cat who loves walking outdoors on a harness & leash - we stayed very vigilant with her, but thankfully the most we encountered was a buck during our trip (1st week of Nov.).
Mike's directions are very thorough and clear - DEFINITELY read his instructions for finding the property at first. He also provides a lot of supplies if needed, especially firewood for a small cost. Communication with him was also very pleasant and easy. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it by 1 more day 😊. Overall, we look forward to staying at Phoenix Landing again in the near future.
NOTE: Needing a 4x4/ AWD vehicle is absolutely necessary to climb the property if choosing not to walk. We arrived in absolute pouring rain and thankfully our Land Cruiser had no issue. The climb / descent is definitely very fun, but if you have no experience with off-roading, it may be a bit difficult. Take it slow. Cheers!

I was pleasantly surprised. We had such a heartfelt conversation with owners , and I shared my child’s health challenges. Our family is living in remission. I had no idea that this magical place regularly donates to children battling cancer. What I didn’t realize until later was that this place quietly supports children fighting cancer (donate their % of earnings ) and
they welcome people with cancer free of charge. I was deeply moved when I learned that till cry
The place itself is absolutely enchanting. We originally planned to stay for one night, but we were gifted two extra nights, we immediately accepted with gratitude as I were free next two days . My child forgot about pain and fear, completely absorbed in the many wonderful activities for kids, especially the time spent with the friendly small farm animals cats dogs and well mannered Jan’s children.
There should be more places like this in the world. We will definitely return — not just for rest, but as a form of therapy, since we live close by . Thank you guys.

I loved this place!! Mike was very helpful. Always responded very quickly. The location is near some pretty great hikes. The campsite is on a bit of a slant, but we had three tents and were able to find good spots with little to no issue. I definitely plan on going back. I had a really good time!

The site was perfect for a weekend with friends! Two large picnic tables and large fire pit with multiple grates for easy cooking. And the platform for the tents was great for the night it poured, we stayed dry all night. Mike was a great host, showed us around and made sure we had plenty of shower water and firewood. Would definitely stay again!

A true forest paradise tucked away from plenty of good restaurants and small town living!
The animals make you feel right at home. Goats and dogs and chickens galore, with plenty of great trail lighting to each site. Would gladly stay again.

Great campsite, primitive but has everything you need. We discovered some hiking trails nearby plus there was a stream to splash in. Make sure your car has 4WD and high clearance if you are staying at Phoenix Landing. Also be mindful of how much water is in the primitive shower and how charged the pump battery is so you don't run out.

One of the best spots I have ever been to. The site was very spacious and the site was so comfortable for the family. The trails nearby are amazing. Mike (the owner) is very kind and super helpful when it comes to knowledge of the land and supplies for camping. I would highly recommend staying at this site with a running stream on the campsite. What an incredible and unexpected local find!
Our stay at this luxury farm was truly one-of-a-kind.
From the moment we arrived via long wooden driveway we were welcomed with genuine warmth.
Next morning we ordered breakfast but it turns more like lunch , and that was fantastic , if you are Eastern European please go there for real home made tvarog and real sour cream , milk with cream on top, can’t believe it’s still possible to find. We got 3 kinds of tea with 4 options for sugaring , 3 kinds of honey , all organica /GMOs free item , with home made 3 kinds of beads. That lunch was true luxury gourmet pleasure not just meal . Every foodie should go there just to have that experience)).
The property itself is a nature lover’s paradise — with an astonishing variety of rare bird breeds roaming freely, including vibrant peacocks that added a magical touch to the scenery. Alongside them were friendly goose , goats and other farm animals, creating a peaceful, countryside charm that both adults and children would adore.
