Incredible experience with kids. What Yana and husband created on their property is a must to experience if you have kids. Just book it and make sure to ask for whatever you need, because it's all ala carte. Humble, lower tier glamping, but makes up in atmosphere and amenities for kids and interaction with the animals. 10/10 would stay again.

I was pleasantly surprised. We had such a heartfelt conversation with owners , and I shared my child’s health challenges. Our family is living in remission. I had no idea that this magical place regularly donates to children battling cancer. What I didn’t realize until later was that this place quietly supports children fighting cancer (donate their % of earnings ) and
they welcome people with cancer free of charge. I was deeply moved when I learned that till cry
The place itself is absolutely enchanting. We originally planned to stay for one night, but we were gifted two extra nights, we immediately accepted with gratitude as I were free next two days . My child forgot about pain and fear, completely absorbed in the many wonderful activities for kids, especially the time spent with the friendly small farm animals cats dogs and well mannered Jan’s children.
There should be more places like this in the world. We will definitely return — not just for rest, but as a form of therapy, since we live close by . Thank you guys.

What a magical experience! Goats, chickens, geese, ducks, amazing Rica the dog, playground for toddlers (5-7 years). Jan and Diane were accommodating and attentive to our requests. Be prepared to come with your camping equipments including cookware and utensils. Sleeping bags were provided. A supermarket is 2 minutes away so you can get anything you might have forgotten anyway.

After reading some of the reviews here, we were a little hesitant to book, especially since we have two dogs and unfortunately couldn’t leave them at home. But please—take the time to read reviews carefully. We almost made a huge mistake by passing over this magical place.
Our host made everything so easy and welcoming, not only for us but also for our dogs—they truly felt at home here. The atmosphere was relaxed, thoughtful, and far beyond what we expected.
I want to encourage future guests to be discerning when reading feedbacks.Not all negative reviews reflect reality. In fact, I sensed that some of them were written with ill intent. We nearly believed them, and I’m so glad we trusted our instincts instead. This place is truly special, and we are grateful we didn’t let a few “offended” comments stop us from experiencing .
On top of all that lunch aaaand than dinner was magnificent something like Ritz , high end standards . Thank you

Jan's farm is absolutely gorgeous!! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in one of the cabbage tents. The camping areas are far enough from the main house for privacy but close enough for comfort. They've built so many sweet nooks for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful woods, would definitely recommend a stay! I would warn future campers that their land is very close to a train station so be prepared for horns in addition to the lovely farm noises from the chickens, ducks, geese and even peacocks!

A true forest paradise tucked away from plenty of good restaurants and small town living!
The animals make you feel right at home. Goats and dogs and chickens galore, with plenty of great trail lighting to each site. Would gladly stay again.

Wonderful experience. Our hostess was gracious and we enjoyed a fantastic gourmet dinner. The area is absolutely perfect for children and they were thrilled to find the play area along with a most friendly dog.

We loved the overall experience. We stayed in a cabbage tent and enjoyed the bonfire. Jan is an amazing host, very friendly and approachable. Her kids and dogs are wonderful. The dog Erica is so friendly; we really enjoyed her company, and my kids loved her. The big surprise was Jan's brunch; she had prepared an awesome brunch for all of us, so tasty, and we ate the food in the backyard. We are looking forward to visiting next year with more friends. Highly recommended for new campers.

We had a very stressful experience at this place and I am leaving this review to warn others. You will not have privacy if you book here, unless you beg for it - the owners dog was with us at our tent for many hours, they thought that normal. 'Dog friendly' is not accurate, if we had brought our small dog it would've been a major problem. The Ad should say: 'campsite comes with owners large dog that incessantly wants to interact'. The owners dog was with us many hours, at our tent, a large German shepherd that would not stay away or leave us alone. Kids could not play with toys at the site, we couldn't build fire without dog grabbing logs, blocking path, etc. Noise is very high, owners appear to be breeding dogs which bark, also the farm animals are very cool but loud. The idea is a good one here, owners were nice (at first), place is beautiful, but if you want privacy and do not want to deal with someone else's dog at your campsite in your path, stay away from this place. Not private or quiet. When we left early - because our kids couldn't play at this site and we wanted peace from their dog, it was not relaxing - the owner was very mean to me, blamed me, even called me a dog hater! All because we were not ok with having their dog with us. (We did ask at night for them to keep dog away, but in morning it was back with us for hours.) Steer clear of such stress if you want peaceful camping.

Unfortunately I had a car trouble that prevents me from coming and but Sarah's was so understanding that she showed me the view of the campsite which made it so much like I was part of it.
I swear to myself that I was going to go there next time for sure just because I was beautiful the campsite was

This property was friendly, peaceful and so very lovely! We could see how much hard work the host family has put into their property- landscaping, camp area clearings, fruit trees, flowers, solar lighting and a nice walking path around. Lots of camping options with enough space and privacy. We parked our van in the driveway and simply plugged into a patio outlet which worked perfect for us. There is a wonderful patio table and chairs set up where we enjoyed our morning coffee and played catch! This is a great spot for kids as they can run around safely (the property is set back well from any busy roads) and there is a cool shelter on property with peacocks, chickens, ducks and more!

A wonderful spot and an easy first foray into camping for our kids. Jan’s property is really beautiful and the family home is within view but far enough away that the sites feel private. The wooded area is really nice for hiking and having a campfire and our kids enjoyed playing on the trampoline, zip lines and play structures - as well as seeing all of the farm animals and the family’s very sweet dog that kept us company throughout the night. Jan and Diana are wonderful hosts and offered us food from their garden as well as the ability to switch tents for our larger party. It was so nice that the tents are all set up for us and contained sleeping cots and sleeping bags. It made it really easy to come for a night and get a full camping experience without the hassle of a campground. Thank you!

Great place for groups with kids who don’t want to bring/set up their own tent, various spacious tents available. huge playground, farm animals, campfire spot including chairs and friendly dog. We had to adjust to the idea that we were camping in someone’s backyard. Lovely owners &family with a can-do & attitude on life. They let you be, but are keen to know what your story is if you’re up for that. The younger daughter was happy to answer any of our questions 😎 and my son played chess with one of the daughters. Thanks for exposing our kids to this great experience!

My cousin and I rent camped on Jan’s property and it was the highlight of our camping trip. They were lovely, welcoming, and we felt safe and slept well. The animals were fun to watch and play with.

We had a great camping experience in the woods! The property is beautiful, with its own farm, garden, and cozy patios equipped with BBQ grills—perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature. Even though we were switched from the Cabbage Tent to a regular tent, our host Diana went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Her hospitality truly made the stay memorable. Highly recommend!

What an incredible and unexpected local find!
Our stay at this luxury farm was truly one-of-a-kind.
From the moment we arrived via long wooden driveway we were welcomed with genuine warmth.
Next morning we ordered breakfast but it turns more like lunch , and that was fantastic , if you are Eastern European please go there for real home made tvarog and real sour cream , milk with cream on top, can’t believe it’s still possible to find. We got 3 kinds of tea with 4 options for sugaring , 3 kinds of honey , all organica /GMOs free item , with home made 3 kinds of beads. That lunch was true luxury gourmet pleasure not just meal . Every foodie should go there just to have that experience)).
The property itself is a nature lover’s paradise — with an astonishing variety of rare bird breeds roaming freely, including vibrant peacocks that added a magical touch to the scenery. Alongside them were friendly goose , goats and other farm animals, creating a peaceful, countryside charm that both adults and children would adore.

We had an excellent stay at Jan and Diana’s!
The tents are in the forest yet close to their house which gave us both privacy and the opportunity to use their amazing backyard which our kids loved - playground, farm animals, sandbox…
The tents were ready for us and spacious. Jan and Diana were there that weekend and very kind, helping out whenever we needed - they got us dish soap which we had forgotten, offered that we use veggies from their garden etc.
We ordered the breakfast which turned out to be an excellent brunch.

Stayed here for one night with a buddy and our four girls, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. The girls had an absolute blast—especially playing with the adorable puppies, roasting marshmallows around the campfire, and hanging out in the spacious tent. The site was comfortable, well set up, and perfect for a quick escape. We’re already talking about when we can come back. Highly recommend!

Jan was incredibly helpful and provided amazing hospitality. The glamping tent is nestled in the woods. Comfortable bed frames and all the necessary amenities are provided for a cozy night's sleep.
The property has a charming farm atmosphere. Roosters, chickens, and bunnies roam freely, adding to the experience. The play area has a swing and other fun activities for kids.
Fire logs are available, allowing for a cozy campfire in the evenings. Jan offered fresh eggs to take away in the morning.
The Cabbage Tent glamping experience exceeded expectations. The combination of nature, comfortable accommodations, and Jan's exceptional hospitality made for a memorable trip.

What a hidden treasure and so close to Norwalk. The driveway alone lets you know you are coming to something special. This Hipcamp has a lot to offer. You can pitch a tent, rent a raise tent site or pull in your RV. The area was level and off to the side for some privacy, we slept like the dead!
There are animals and a wonderful play area for children which is unique, full of fun coordination skills and a fancy swing set.
There is a campfire area and an outside dining area. Very quiet and very protected.
You are greeted by fabulous owners and 2 well trained German Shepards.
We pulled our RV into the driveway. Electric and water was available, no septic.
We had fresh eggs and made pizza with fresh herbs out of their garden. Best Hipcamp we ever stayed at and we hope to return! Highly recommend.
