We are a working Alpaca and Beef farm in Central Vermont. Our cottage is available in the spring, summer and fall to Airbnb guests. Recently we have added the winter season for the adventurous Clamping crowd. The cottage is very private, with alpacas nearby. Hiking, xc-skiing (bring your own) and The Vast (Snowmobile)trails are also nearby. We have amazing western views of the Adirondack mountains, and are 20 minutes from Middlebury, Vergennes; 1 hour from Burlington and Rutland and 45min from Middlebury Snowbowl Ski Area.

Shaker Mountain Refuge sits on 300, mostly wooded acres at the foot of the Green Mountains. With outstanding views of Camel's Hump (Vermont's second tallest peak), the refuge is a wonderful place to sit back, relax and enjoy the natural world. There are numerous hiking trails on site, as well as a beautiful swimming pond. Access to Camels Hump hiking trails is a short drive away. Camping is provided by and in support of the Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center, a 501 3C non-profit company. Located in the heart of the Green Mountain National Forest, the Outdoor Center provides access to the Blueberry Hill network of trails, the Vermont Long Trail, The Catamount Trail, and the Moosalamoo National Forest Trails.
All campsites are located at the edge of the field behind the Outdoor Center. We have hot/cold outdoor showers as well as restrooms in the Outdoor Center. For more information, visit our website at blueberryhilltrails dot com.
While there is an internet connection near the buildings, it may not be available at your site. Cell service is limited at best. You can drive your car right up to your site. Sites are a good distance apart. Site 1 and the Bed in the Shed are the most private. Site two is quite open and supports trailers.
For your campfire, you can forage for wood or request "bundles" (about a dozen hunks of wood) by the morning of your arrival, and we'll have it delivered to your site. Please note, wood from outside Vermont is not permitted.
We like to keep things quiet. No generators at any time.
Step outside your tent and you'll find a wealth of hiking, biking, and running trails. As stewards of these trails, your camping fees help support the efforts of this non-profit company. Nearby, you can enjoy swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. Trail maps are provided upon arrival, and you can also view them online on our webpage at Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center.
The Outdoor Center offers snacks and cold drinks for purchase, including our inn-made chocolate chip cookies, chips, and cold drinks. Also available on site, at the Inn across the road on mornings we are serving, may be a full breakfast, pastries, packed lunch, and coffee. (Please enquire in advance or night before if any inn items are available. ) Don't miss our Pizza Nights at the inn. More info on the Outdoor Center or Blueberry Hill Inn webpage. The Texas Hill Brook site is a flat, wooded campsite on Texas Hill Brook in Huntington. The campsite is roughly 10m x 30m (30' x 100'), large enough for several tents or a small camper/RV. It is accessed by a sloped 50m (about 150') gravel driveway. The narrowest part of the driveway is 2.6m (about 8.5 feet). There is a 3m x 3m (10' x 10') tent platform and a large picnic table. Firewood is provided. Near our home about 120m/400 feet away through the trees but relatively private. Within a short pedal or drive to some of the best mountain biking and hiking Vermont has to offer, 15 minutes to Richmond and Hinesburg, and just a half hour to Burlington. Electricity on site, primitive fire pit, but no other facilities, so ALL waste must be packed out. We have a bucket commode to loan if you don’t have your own.

This off-the-grid tiny house is nestled on a 23 acre parcel at the end of a quarter-mile dirt road. The property itself is secluded but is less than 2 miles from the heart of Saranac Lake's downtown. This property is bordered by the Saranac River, the backside of Baker Mountain and State Forest. The only other building on the property is our timberframe which we may or may not be at during the time of your visit. The property does have private trails up to the cliffs on the backside of Baker mtn however, the Saranac River is down a steep embankment so it does not make for a good place to launch a boat (several public boat launches nearby).
The Mt Baker tiny house is a great basecamp for hiking the Saranac Lake 6-ers, paddling/boating along the Saranac Chain of lakes or Saranac River, Mountain Biking at Dewey, Pisgah or other nearby BETA trails.

This tiny cabin is completely off the grid: no electricity, heat or cooling.

As far as we know, this land has been occupied since shortly after the civil war. It is actually two farms, combined into one around 1900. The main farmhouse was built out of the logs they cleared in 1879, and there are old foundations of the other original farm houses/barns as well. All over the property (now woods) there are piles of stones that the original inhabitants pulled from the fields. The second farm house was built in 1901. Most of the total 240 acres were cleared pasture land at that time. During the twenties and thirties the property was owned by an industrious couple from the City that lovingly turned it into more of a "rustic retreat"; damming a pond, planting ornamentals and upgrading the buildings. There have been many owners over the years, but we are proud to say it has been with us the longest. Our family bought it in 1961 and we have been trying to be good stewards ever since. Come and visit our little patch of wilderness!

Weekend Trip to Green Mountain Trails
This place exceeded all my expectations and was an absolutely stunning experience. If you're considering it--DO IT.
The hike up was on the "Green Trail" and was fairly well marked. There are several adjacent trials to explore and more adventurous paths to the hut if the 1.3 mile green trail isn't enough.
The hut was well-stocked with many extras. But with the views, you won't spend much time inside.

We would've just preferred to know before the booking how many mosquitoes there would be. It is impossible to stay outside, you're instantly surrounded by thousands of them.

1 night at Green Mountain Trails
Stayed 1 night, and thats all I needed to determine how much of a secret gem this site is. Such a unique find, Matt does a Wonderfull job keeping the place stocked with required supplies and utensils but the charm comes from previous visitors who have all added their own leftover elements to explore. I won't ruin the mystery, I will also add that this is a hike in excursion so you really get the isolated in the woods feeling. , I backpacked in about a mi, and enjoyed navigating through the trail system in place, pay attention to the signage. If you stay I recommend looking at some maps ahead of time and identify your orientation when you arrive at the parking lot. Caught a clear sky that day and the sunset over the hills was chefs kiss to end the day.

You can tell they put a lot of thought into it. Location is near cute little towns and trails are walking distance from the property. Bike straight from the property. The cleanest pet-friendly place I ever stayed. I'll definitely be back.

We really enjoyed the comfortable off-grid experience offered by the Mt. Baker cabin. Despite the unseasonably cool temps, the hosts provided extra bedding and we had no trouble staying warm and comfy throughout our stay. The location was great with much to do within a 5 minute drive, and access to 30-1 hour hiking and sight-seeing destinations.

This tiny riverside cabin was absolutely perfect for our weekend getaway. It was fully stocked with all the basics and so many very thoughtful details, as well. The site was nicely tucked away and private. The cleanliness of the porta-potty was also notable - world's cleanest porta potty. Robbin was an excellent and thoughtful host with very thorough notes for our stay at cabin (every quick question we came across could be answered by her notes) and she also sent along a comprehensive list of things to visit in the area which ended up being the guide to our adventures around the area. Everything about our stay was perfect down to the amount of firewood provided with our 2-night stay. The only thing we would have changed about our stay would be to stay longer. We will absolutely be visiting again!

Weekend Trip to Camp TedRock Adirondack Retreat
I loved every aspect of Ted’s Land. A frame is amazing, spacious, comfortable and left us feeling very safe.
Ted the host is great! You can tell he is super passionate about the outdoors. He gave us recommendations for areas that we would never have found on our own. 3 nights at Riverside Retreat and Tiny Cabin
The river is so beautiful and peaceful that you can see and hear out the window. The cabin had everything you could need and Robyn was very quick and helpful with any questions. And the area is very dog friendly.. The heater was plenty warm for the cold nights.. I am a smoker and we were getting a little bit of rain so Robyn brought me over a canopy and set it up for me. Overall wonderful time
