There are several campsites as well as a cozy bed in a cabin that you can stay in. The property used to be an orchard, until most was sold and converted to housing developments. My one acre and a few old cherry trees remains. Both the camping areas and the cabin are in sight of my house. But, there are plenty of areas to choose from. I can supply a fire ring and logs to burn if you are interested. Dogs allowed, as long as they get along with and don’t chase other animals. You must be animal friendly! I have a dog, two indoor/outdoor cats, and chickens.

If you ever experienced, as a kid, going to the country to visit grandparents/aunt or uncles - this is an adventure just like that with dirt (mud puddles and all) driveway (approx. 1100 ft. long). This is a private property of 10 acres of lightly wooded, sloping areas with a pond and a private residence of 2300 sq. ft. which have guest rooms available as a BnB - Book rooms on AirBnB or Booking.com. It is NOT a manicured estate but rather land with mowed rustic trails with a old pond with water critters, bullfrogs, fishes, water spiders, tiny snails. There is an occasional Blue Herring, Wood Ducks and Canadian Geese that stop by as well as other wildlife.

Welcome, Mission Conesus, originally built by Franciscan Catholics. These lands were likely chosen for many reasons. Suffice it to say there is something special here. Come discover for yourself. Lose yourself here, or maybe find yourself, among the Hemlocks. First, a bit about the terrain. There is much in the way of forest, very mature, and a broad array of plant species. Elevation differences are vast, land to the west is uphill for quite a ways, and downhill to the east, to Hemlock lake below, so the world here can feel a bit tilted. We adjoin 150 acres of nature conservancy lands that nobody seems to know about. These lands are for respectful public daytime use. We also adjoin 6600 acres of NY state forest which is public property. Exploring all that is here would take a very long time! Want to get away? Welcome to our little slice of heaven. See the provided map for site locations. Site 1 is open field and is near the pavilion, sites 2 and 3 are along the woods, and site 4 is the most private and tucked into the woods. Want to unplug and get away from the busy life? Most mobile phones do not work here! We have only minimal solar electricity, and there is a propane stove as well! Two double beds, one single, and a couple of nice cots. Tent Sites abound! We bought this property about four years ago. It was trashed by the previous owner and had an old dilapidated trailer in the middle of it. We cleaned and cleaned, then we ripped out the bad parts of the trailer and rebuilt the insides, placed a huge metal roof over the whole thing and put in a composting outhouse. There's no running water, and phones don't get reception, so you can truly unplug and decompress in this lovely, quiet piece of land which is close to a ton of hiking / forest land and just down the road from Cummings Nature Center, a great place for family exploration and learning.

Nestled along the quiet countryside of Moscow Road, our campsite offers a peaceful retreat just minutes from the shores of Lake Ontario and the scenic trails of Hamlin Beach State Park. This area, steeped in history and natural charm, provides an ideal backdrop for campers seeking tranquility and adventure. Hamlin, established in 1852 and renamed in honor of Vice President Hannibal Hamlin in 1861, is a town rich in heritage. The nearby Hamlin Beach State Park, spanning 1,287 acres, boasts sandy beaches, hiking and biking trails, and a nature trail with educational markers. The park's history includes a Civilian Conservation Corps camp and a World War II POW camp, adding a unique historical dimension to your visit. Whether you're here to relax under the stars, explore the rich history, or enjoy the natural beauty of the region, The Homestead at 1868 provides a perfect setting. With easy access to fishing, hiking, and local attractions, your stay promises to be both restful and enriching. There is a porta-potty and an outdoor shower (with hot water) located next to the shed a short distance from the campsite. To enhance the privacy and experience for our campers, we’ve installed a privacy fence and planted trees along the gap in the tree line at the back corner of the property (see pictures). While there is still a partial view of the house through this area, the fencing and landscaping significantly reduce visibility and help create a more secluded and peaceful camping space. We’re continually working to improve the natural screening for your comfort and privacy.
