For generations, the majestic waterfall has been revered for its spectacular beauty. It’s considered a sacred site central to local land rematriation work with the Kanienkeha:ka.
Coursing between two outcroppings in a deep ravine, the waterfall crashes down over mossy rock shelves into emerald swimming holes and through dramatic clay beds. It’s one of those extraordinary spots on earth that make you feel like you’re in another world. The sites aren’t suitable for parties or loud groups.
It's about a 10 minute hike to the waterfall where you can spend the day swimming, exploring the clay beds and looking for fossils in the 280 million year old gorge. In the evening, make a campfire and fall asleep under the stars listening to the river below.
The hike is steep and appropriate footwear is required. All hiking is at your own risk. Although your path to the waterfall is private and the waterfall is on private property, there may be other guests or locals that access the waterfall further down the road. There is no glass or alcohol allowed at the falls.
Be aware that you may hear your camping neighbors in the woods. For this reason, we ask that you don’t play amplified music and keep noise down after 10pm to enjoy the sounds of frogs, crickets, owls, and night songs of the countryside
At the entrance to the campsites there is a barn community room with a charging station, cold water sink, fridge, coffee maker, cookware, and a port-a-potty. There are 5 gallon solar shower bags that you can use at your campsite. You are responsible for filling them and putting them in the sun to heat the water.
This is a leave no trace site. Take all your trash with you when you leave. Bring your own biodegradable soap for dishes and toilet paper for the port-a-potty!
Firewood is available onsite for $1 per log.
The Schoharie Valley is said to be the most fertile valley east of the Mississippi. It is still wild, unspoiled country and there are many local farms stands with fresh produce and organic meat close by.
Within a 5 miles radius is a general store, Scrumpy Ewe Cidery, Panther Creek Arts, Rooted Movement, the Sap Bush Country Store and Café, and Mustang Valley (a wild mustang sanctuary). Nearby hikes include Looking Glass Pond and Vroman's Nose, and others.

All lodging sites have heating for your comfort and are available year round! The River's Edge campsites sit on the shoreline of the Delaware River at the western edge of New York State overlooking the mountains of Pennsylvania. Our canvas tents and open air platforms perch between the river and the former Delaware & Hudson Canal which was once was used to transport raw goods by barge to New York City via the 'port' of Port Jervis. The remnants of the canal walls are throughout the property including a 300 person theater which we created to both preserve and feature this industrial history. It also makes a great place for an event or a movie night.
Today, the original canal towpath, along which barges would be pulled and floated downstream, is a trail that links all of the campsites over 5 acres and at the furthest end an eel fishing camp that is in operation from June to October.
In the early 1900s, the train replaced the canal as the primary method of moving goods into New York and if you are lucky — you will hear the train rumble by along the river on the Pennsylvania side. There is something spectacular in the absolute still and grandness of the river, the mountains and the ongoing industrial history of the valley. It is a reminder of the way things used to be.
The farmhouse and cabins are located opposite the campsites on other side of route 97. Next to them are 50 acres of wild forest to hike and explore. These accommodations are great for guests who want more amenities but still with easy access to river. Pair campsites and cabins so that all your guests have their best experience.
Contact us to coordinate for larger group bookings. Please note that a significant portion of county tax/fees and cancellation or change fees may be avoided by booking the base amount of people (4) and at a much later date adding extra guests. Guests NOT occupying canvas tent (lodging) and bringing their own tents should not be paying an occupancy tax but there is no provision for this in the app. We do not want our guests paying taxes -- that benefit no one but useless bureaucracy! Extra guests may be added the week before booking. Just let us know your plans through the app!

Sixty acres of magical trees, a one acre pond, and a three acre field. From the road there is a two hundred foot elevation gain to the top of the hill. Along the way are several hundred feet of rock ledges, caves, and critters. Most of the land is sloping, but the hilltop is flat as a table, with prehistoric-looking ferns under a dense canopy of mature trees.
The campsites are ultra secluded- about a quarter mile apart from each other. All sites include a fire pit, cooking grate, picnic table, and sites 2&3 have platforms.
Camp ONE: is on the top of the hill, and a small car can be driven to within 150 feet of it. It is pretty flat, and surrounded by blackberry bushes, ferns, and trees.
Camp TWO: is on a bluff overlooking a picturesque swamp, filled with hemlock trees and ferns. This site can not be driven to with anything less than a high clearance SUV (ie- jeep wrangler), so I consider it a hike in site. It is under a ten minute walk from the pond and parking lot, but the view and feel is worth it. (It has been brought to our attention that there is occasionally a group riding atvs on a neighboring property that are audible from this site. We have no control over what time it happens, so please keep this in mind)
Camp THREE: is accessible with a four wheel drive vehicle, something at least as high as an SUV. It is the closest to the house and pond, but still far enough to feel secluded and completely private. If you choose to walk there, it’s only a couple minutes from the parking area.
Throughout the property, there are many quiet places to hang out, flat spots to do yoga, trails to explore, and fishing and swimming in the beautiful pond. We are also just ten minutes from the Upper Delaware River, and all it has to offer.

During or right after a NorthEast Tropical Storm or Severe weather the power can go out.

We have carved out a campers paradise on our vacation rental homes property. Our 1972 airstream globetrotter has been outfitted with a real queen size bed, and a mini kitchen… AC & Heat…the full original bathroom with shower sink and toilet. The private wooded site sits alongside a boulder lined Climax Creek so you can listen to the sounds of the creek as you sleep and sitting out at the bonfire. Our site comes complete with an additional outdoor cooler and prep table, a small Weber charcoal grill, a propane grill and the option for open fire cooking. The campsite has plenty of parking and is very private with your own bonfire area and sitting area alongside the creek. Authentic old Catskill's experience in this 1955 timber frame 2 bedroom Cabine at the Smokey Belles Catskills homestead. Seclusion & your own bucolic frontage on the Ten Mile River trout stream. Local stone fireplace & wood stove in bedroom. Multiple campfires in different settings.
Seasonally, a rustic writer's shack is available. Minutes away from the Narrowsburg hamlet & Delaware River. Outdoor shower design with hot tap, overlooking river & natural surrounds.
Open year round. Open Winter Ski season & Spring Fishing season.
Amenities available: antiquing tours, fishing trips, campfire set up, campfire catered cookouts, maple tree tapping workshops, foraging workshops, local hikes tour, & private yoga session @6’ in outside nature setting on property. Inquire about additional costs.

Treehouse cabin supported by two mighty hemlocks and overlooking the creek. Heated by a wood stove in winter and very cool in the summer warmth. Cabin lullabied by water-rush white noise. Completely off grid and sun powered. Cooktop, fire pit and mini fridge available for food preparation and storage. Drinking water and shower are spring fed with a 200 gallon reserve for your stay. Propane water heater, beautiful bathroom vista. Queen sized loft bed accessed by a pull out ladder + sofa which can be used as a bed (albeit a bit narrower than a twin)

We had a great time at Camp 3!
It has a great setup that feels very woodsy and private, with its own tent platform, prep station and stone firepit. Dan was super accommodating, and even gave us a jumpstart on our way out after I was dumb and somehow drained my car battery!

we had a great one night stay on a NEBDR trip! it was the best of both worlds- a beautiful and peaceful campsite, with firepit/firewood, potable water, and a full bathroom! liz and john were perfect hosts, and we are so grateful for their hospitality.

Weekend Trip to The River's Edge
This was our 4th time staying here and as always, we absolutely loved it! The weather was pretty crappy this time around, but honestly, it didn’t even matter. Don’t ever let the weather stop you from coming here. There’s just something about this spot that we love no matter what.
Thomas is an amazing host and always goes above and beyond. He’s one of the reasons we keep coming back.
Four trips here and it still hasn’t disappointed us. We love this place and will definitely be back again!

Weekend Trip to Waterfall Sanctuary & Quiet Retreat
Our stay at the Starlight Cabin was wonderful - the cabin itself is great, tucked away in the woods (there was another couple staying at the other Wildflower cabin while we were here but our space felt completely private). The waterfall is truly a magical experience, there’s something so special about this space & being able to experience it with just us two was incredible. Definitely would stay again… plus Amy is a great host & very responsive!

First time to this campground, clean and well maintained. One note to know is that the campground store is closed on Monday so if you need wood good luck…. Didn’t even see any in the area from regular neighbors. Other than that it was pretty nice.

Sam does an amazing job setting the perfect glamping spot! He has an attention for detail that makes it go from great to incredible. My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of staying in the retro camper with the mineral spring tub. Sam has the camper renovated that makes it feel new but did not sacrifice the retro view. We enjoyed every minute, from sitting in the tub with hot water to watching the waterfalls to a large grass field where you can just sit and watch for shooting stars (I am so lucky I saw one while visiting).
I loved that I was able to bring my dog and have no issue with her accompanying us
After spending the day on the property we went into to town to buy a few things and walk around.
I will be recommending this to all my friends and hope to return soon!

We love the swamp Site 2 site in the Quilted Woods and the ice cream shop! It is so peaceful with all of the bird and frog sounds at night, and feels so remote, but we also always feel safe knowing their house is nearby if something happens. Dan and Corrie are wonderful hosts and great communicators. They are always checking in to make sure everything is going well and if we need anything. We have been back a few times and it’s one of our favorite spots. Highly recommend checking out the ice cream store too!!

We had a wonderful time at Quilted Woods! Daniel and his family take great pride in their land. The ice cream shop is great and for those who think it may make it seem less “rural” - it defintely does not. Once you are back at your campground you are deep in the woods. Me and my two kids (10 and 5 - both moderately experienced campers) explored the property a lot. There are trails with big rock structures to see, it feels raw but navigable. There had been a fair amount of rain in recent days (not while we were camping thankfully) so quite a bit of mud to work around so I’d choose good hiking boots/sneakers that can handle the muck if the weather seems to go that way. We did have an animal visitor on our last night - not sure if bear or other - our campfire was dug out and log stumps rolled and scrapped. We are extremely careful with food and trash storage so all was ok, but Daniel has signs all around regarding food and trash storage (in your car!!!) so I’d recommend following those rules. It was added excitement for the kids for sure and a great story to tell. Any camping in the northeast requires considerations for the wildlife and I am of the mindset to expect to see a bear or other to remain vigilant (esp with kids). It doesn’t diminish the experience at all just keeps you mindful. It is also why so many of us love the experience. Respect nature and it will and love and respect you back. We also drive about 20min to Hancock NY for some light fishing in the Delaware.

I loved camping on Dan's land! My husband and I had a very short stay of 1 night and I only wish it were longer. Dan is super friendly and helpful and made the directions very clear. His property is huge and beautiful! And family-friendly! So many trails we didn't get the chance to do, but highly recommend the one across the road (won't give the exact name for privacy reasons, but just ask Dan!). He also owns an ice cream shop, a short hike through the woods which is so sweet. Hope to visit again in the future!
