The land has arroyos, mesas, lots of flat areas to car camp, pitch a tent or sleep on the ground under the beautiful, dark New Mexico skies. There are also a few places to hang a hammock. To the west, there are miles and miles to hike, mountain bike, or just enjoy the view of the Magdalena Mountains. Neighbors are quiet and you can choose a spot away from anyone.

Parking was a bit tricky because there was a bus and two cars in the yard. I have a 30ft Class C and had to reverse like Austin Powers in order to maneuver into the open spot (Site #1). I used a RV surge protector and the panel has an open ground warning. I took a chance and used the 30amp power and, luckily, had no issues. Luke provided trash and recycle bins. The recycle bin was small and full during my stay. It might be beneficial to get a larger bin because the wind would blow the recyclables around the yard. I enjoyed seeing the wild peafowls around the neighborhood. One day I got a visit from a peahen and she hung out around my RV for a bit. The location is close to a highway entrance which made driving around town quick and easy. Luke was very accommodating when I needed some assistance with my stay. Besides the small minor issues, I had a fantastic time. I traveled solo and felt safe and secure. If I relocated to Albuquerque, I would reach out to Luke about an extended stay in a heartbeat

We stayed here with Luke twice, both coming and going through Albuquerque. We found the site to be very convenient to everything we wanted to see, and to access the freeways. Luke, as our host, was an excellent communicator, and was most accommodating, letting us know we could have late check out one day as his next guest was not coming until later.
The site was level, private, and quiet. One thing to be aware of— we are somewhat small/ 40
Ft combined truck and trailer, and with another camper already occupying the rear of the camp, the turning radius was a little tight and took a little skill. This was not a deal breaker- just something to be aware of.

Munzo Mountain Retreat is AMAZING! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, they made us feel right at home. The animals were such a hit with the kids — they couldn’t get enough of them and it made the whole trip extra special. The pool was super fun and a great way to spend the afternoons.
The farm itself is just so peaceful and relaxing, the perfect place to unwind and enjoy some quiet time. We left feeling refreshed and can’t wait to come back again. Highly recommend!

We had a very relaxing time at Manzano Mountain Retreat. Guy and Noelle are fantastic hosts. The rest of the staff is pretty darn nice too. Although they had a pretty busy weekend while we were there they made sure to come by and check on us. If they had water and sewer hook ups we might not have ever left. We look forward to returning some time in the future.

This was a wonderful camp spot for a reprieve on our trip across North America. The hosts were incredibly helpful and generous, showing us to our spot and sharing a meal with us when we first arrived and were tired and hungry. The ranch is lovely with lots of animals and apple orchards, as well as a pond and a few trails to explore. Closest town with grocery is about 25 minutes, and be wary gps may take you down dirt roads so turn off that feature if you don’t have the vehicle for that. Also, don’t forget to grab some apple cider for the road it is delicious, hands down the best Ive ever had!
