Our stay at the A Frame was fantastic! It was quiet, clean, and peaceful. The compost toilet was clean and easy to use, which helped make it for a very comfortable stay, even at 20 weeks pregnant. Would definitely visit again.

Beautiful tent camping spot and very nice outhouse. Host was very friendly and stopped by to check on us a couple of times. We will definitely be back!

Great tenting experience! The campsite had a great setup with a fire pit with an attached cooking grill, potable water, table with log stools, many tent placement options. The view of the stars makes one forget just how many are up there! Plenty of wildlife and wilderness to see!

David’s A frame campsite was perfect! He was a great host, there is a swing, table, grill, fire pit, picnic table, and he had water available as well! We are a family of 4, with two young children (2&6) and they both loved it. There is a short hike to what would be a lovely waterfall in the right season- still beautiful with no water. Highly recommend and we will very likely be back!

David offered an amazing space with SO many wonderful additions for our camping/glamping experience! The structure itself is brilliant! The A Frame was cozy and comfortable. Opening the lift door afforded additional space and more of a connection to nature. Fire pit, picnic table, swinging bench, water, cook stove, and composting toilet were all greatly appreciated. Even had the chance to visit with David during our stay…and he’s GREAT!

We stayed at the A frame, we were rained out, but everything was available, from seating to little outdoor kitchen, outhouse, fire pit, solar shower bags. Very kind host. Very helpful. Easy to get hold of. Very beautiful area.

We had a great time at David's Land. The A-frame is perfect for a small family or couple. We pushed the platform beds together and slept comfortably. The low overnight was 38, which was a little cold for our toddler but the summer overnights would be perfect. During the day, it was great to open the overhang for shade.
The camp area has all the basics we needed including drinking and washing water, a propane grill, a fire pit, star gazing seats and more. We had so many beautiful hummingbirds visit our camp. The grounds are quiet, serene and peaceful pine forest. The fish tank was a fun visit for our kiddo and the hiking path to the canyon/waterfall (waterfall in early Spring) is well marked and fun.
David is a wonderful, welcoming host who gave us excellent directions and was great at communicating. The personal touches all around the camp and land made us feel welcome. We'll be back this summer!

Such a cool property! David is very friendly and available for any of your needs. The A Frame was a fun build - we kept the side open during the day and were able to read/lounge with fresh air. There were neat handmade details around the camp - a swinging bench, a table top attached to the trees, a few chairs, funny signs and the A frame itself! The property is so peaceful. We were able to hike, observe wildlife (deer, squirrels, insects, birds) and stargaze. I’d highly recommend staying here. ☺️

Had a great stay tent camping on David’s land! If you want peace and quiet out in the woods this is a beautiful spot. David was very kind and responsive (he wasn’t able to meet me at first but gave detailed directions to the site). He checked in the next morning to make sure I found it ok. Felt safe and secure and the views of the night sky were wonderful.

My crew loved staying out here - quiet, pristine, clean outhouse, lots of places to walk. David greeted us upon arrival and guided us to our tent spot. Stars were excellent at night!

We loved camping in the A-frame at David.s and highly recommend it to anyone. He also has a tiny house, basic campsites and cabins. It's private and beautiful and David and Cynthia provide everything needed to have an enjoyable visit. We loved sitting or laying on the beds looking out at the forest, sunrises and sunsets. We had plenty of power from the solar panels to charge our phones, which was all the electricity we needed. We will plan another trip as soon as we can. Shannon and Mark

David's place out in the woods is EXACTLY what we were looking for when we were looking to tent camp in the woods! Absolutely beautiful, untouched forest with an unexpected, extremely innovative outhouse facility! Cleanest bathroom I used on our road trip from Houston to Durango! No kidding! The campsite was very thought out and made camping much easier. We loved it out there!

This review is a little overdue but this is no reflection of the quality of the stay and David’s hospitality in his semi arid forest…a quiet beautiful place on a mountain with a view of the stars shining through. I think this camp site is perfect for at least two kinds of people. The first are folks like us. We spend at least 3 months a year living out of our truck and tent, combining outdoor sports with working online. We usually camp on forest service or BLM roads in primitive sites. But when we have to do a longer drive that we want to split up, and it happens to be on a weekend, we prefer to be able to reserve a site. David's camp site was like a forest service site with amenities (nicest outhouse I've seen in awhile, excellent tent platform, nice fire pit, garbage disposal, etc) that we could reserve. It's in a really nice piece of forest, with lots of privacy. And it turns out the internet was good enough for doing some work if we had wanted to (we have Verizon). The other kind of people this would be great for is relatively inexperienced, or even first time, campers. It would be a camping adventure, complete with true wilderness quality quiet, awesome stars and a bit of interesting dirt road (a regular car would be fine, but it might be a bit exciting if you've never driven dirt roads). But it has enough structure to make it much easier than true primitive camping. And David was great! Super helpful and friendly. So, in summary, we highly recommend this campsite!!

Really enjoyed my stay in the A-frame. The property is beautiful, and if you get a clear night, the stars a amazing. I highly recommend more than one night. It’s a bit off the beaten path, not sure it makes sense to drive all the way up to the property (~8000 ft above sea level) for a single night. David was a really great host. Very helpful and answered all my communications. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

This place was very beautiful we experienced a winter wonderland great place to get away for a weekend the fireplace looks handmade and well put together and has all the amenities needed, and the hose had great directions to get you to the site safely.

Do yourself a favor and book David’s spot! Not only is the A frame super adorable, but David has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. I cannot wait to come back and stay again!

This place is absolutely magical. The A frame is amazing--I now want one on out property!--and there was plenty of space for me to sent up a tent as well. My son and his friend brought their mountain bikes and explored the property. We rook a hike down to the waterfall--be sure to look for signs, as we got a little lost, but it was clearly marked. A great place to unplug, and Dave is a wonderful and incredibly kind and friendly host. I can't wait to return!

So happy we booked this place!! Super cool convertible A-Frame. Surrounded by great hikes and a National Forest. David is super generous with amenities and a great host. We saw all kinds of wildlife. A really special, amazing experience.

The A-Frame campsite was wonderful. David went above and beyond. I made an off-handed comment about my daughter's birthday during the initial discussions. We arrived to find a "Happy Birthday" banner hanging inside the cabin. It made my daughter's day.
The site itself was beautiful. Everything was set up and as it was described.
We saw numerous deer visiting the pond just across the road from our camp. We spent hours hiking around the wilderness, listening to birds and looking for other wildlife.
The campsite even had a "hummingbird friend", as my daughter called it. Several times each day, the little bird flitted through our site. It would hover and look at our bags, or us, then fly off.
Even our dog had a great time. She loved being able to roam around the campsite, or walk with us around the forest.

A great, cozy sight to camp!
We enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend this mini A-frame cabin. Map directions were totally accurate, host was very welcoming and gave detailed info and area suggestions for hiking, etc. and amenities provided were helpful.
There’s a mini pond with deer that visited both days, wildlife around (ie. several bird species and howling coyotes of course), trails, scenic drives nearby, and secluded enough to really get away.
I would definitely revisit! My family enjoyed the site!
